With the tendency for us to be immobilized by this pandemic - it's important to keep the savory treats around to a minimum. I'm hearing that a lot of folk are gaining weight from this induced sedentary lifestyle. I keep some M & M's in a charming little dispenser...and I keep lots of fruit around. I prep a "muscle-brownie" (regular brownie mix plus oatmeal, protein powder, and lots of fruits and nuts...no added sugar....so the resulting brownie is high in protein and fiber, relatively low in calories) and eat those sparingly. I've been really enjoying Pineapples lately; and I save all the tops...stick them in water until they root...then give them to my son and daughter in law to plant on their "farm" in Jupiter! (Florida).

Here's the thing we have to face. The root of all our problems is our drive to populate...to keep growing....to look at growth as good. We invented "death control" hundreds of years ago....but "Birth control" is still a debatable issue. So we are growing; but the earth's resources are shrinking and reducing. We're growing at 150 more births than deaths, per minute. 220,000 per day. 1,500,000 more per week 80 million per year. But wildlife is going extinct at the rate unheard of ever since we started noticing. Forests are disappearing at the rate of acres per minute. Blacktop/concrete/irreversible land covering for human occupation is happening at acres per minute. The earth isn't growing. We're getting better and more efficient at food sharing....so there is a slow reduction of starvation deaths - for now. But diseases and their vectors are getting stronger and tougher ever minute. And pollution is growing at a faster, and faster rate. And we have the technology - the knowhow - the wisdom to control this growth. We just need to connect the dots...and slow down our growth - faster, sooner....or it might be too late for us. Many are saying it is....in fact...too late to reverse global warming/climate change. When I see some throw away "moldy cheese" I feel sad/sorry for them....they don't realize that that particular chunk is finally becoming tasty! I tried "Harry's"....decent, competitively priced...mail order or now available at most stores....but I coudln't put down my "trac 2" shavers. I had purchases one heavy, balanced metal one...then another...years ago....and they've worked perfectly. Blame it on a great close-out sale of literally hundreds of blade heads for under $10... (wow...I just price checked....they're now $24) and I was "hooked". Now I keep one shaver in one Bath and the other one in the other bath - I try to use both; but the old "trac II's are actually a slight preference...slightly closer slightly smoother.

It's been tough. The fridge is too close by. The only time i get out is to go food shopping. All the gyms are closed. Still...I got an hour's worth of biking in today (good sweat) and I can swim in the relatively uncrowded (off season, for now) swimming pool out back. Trying hard; it's not easy!!

@azzow2 It's called aging. "Pushing through the pain" is the "manly" thing to do...but scientists say that's just not wise...it'll speed up the joint break-down. Same with overdoing the pain meds. Some suggest (and I've followed this advice) surgery - I got a hip replaced....and the doc said I was guilty of "pushing past the pain" too long....which only accelerated the decomposition of the joint. But....having said that; I now am pain free - in my hips. Now I'm at a crossroad about a knee....and at 75 years and decent fitness - I'm tossed about surgery. A.Tolerate it? ("push through the pain") B.Pain meds? C.Cartilage/bone/anti-inflammatory supplements? D. Surgery? Your advice here is welcome! How about a simple A, B,C, or D recommendation?

I still have two "firends" who I knew in early college days and we still "see" eachother....and one was a "room-mate". Bob D was a fitness devotee - and for a brief time was a state record holder in the 50 and 100 yard freestyle. . He worked out in the room on his own "total gym" ( a board on a slant with a set of ropes and a pulley) before they even invented it. I'm a total gym user (bought it when it was still a subsidy of "West Bend") to this day thanks to his inspiration.

Processed can mean anything from dried to frozen, freeze-dried, Cooked, dehydrated, canned, etc. It's a blanket term. UN processed foods are at the store "edges"...meats, veggies, etc. Even milk and most cheeses were "processed" to get to be on those shelves.

You are from India; so I will try your recipe.... but having said that...have you ever done a non-tomato sauce curry with Coconut milk? A tomato-based chicken stew is, IMO, an Italian Cacciatore. And - why shy away from all the excellent prepared "curry" spices out there? There's too many to just suggest to go to a Masala-spice mix. And why so little masala spice? I say pour it on...double that amount with a can of coconut milk...try skipping the tomato sauces completely....and you'll have a totally different "Chicken Curry". The curry dishes I've seen are a brownish color (left image). The Cacciatores are the redder more tomato based chicken dish (right image).

I was a junior in High school when I read a short research article by John B. Calhoun called, "Population Density and Social Pathology" and what he said....back in '62...has really proven to be true. Basically the more crowded it gets the -ruder -less sexual -more agressive -more pathological -more hoarding (greed) -more group/gang behavior -more asexual/alternative sexual behavior (male-male, female-female) -more child neglect/abandonment/cannibalism. -easier disease transmission. He did an eloquently simple experiment. He kept rats in cages; gave them all the food and water they needed. Cleaned away their wastes - - he just made the walls smaller. At different rates, with different sized groups. Na...no value nor comfort in hanging out nude/naked. Not for me, anyway. Now when I swim laps I often get laughed at for being the 75 year old "speedo" guy...but for me, the less suit (while swimming) the better. I often swim laps only when the pool and i are the only ones there.

I try to avoid all forms of sugar in my diet.

You do need some simple carbs (sugars)...the point is not to get the bi-products of their production. Moderation works. I avoid most starches and breads (complex carbs) and I've found splenda (sucralose) pretty safe and less of an aftertaste than Stevia. Good question!! I've had mixed feelings about those who've managed to "stay in touch" and/or "stay friends" with their exes. I lost my first wife to cancer at a very young age....but am still in touch with at least 3 of her friends. My second "ex" was the only woman who I had a child with...so while I "know" her I don't stay in touch...and consider her my son's mother more than my "ex. Several ex's and ladyfriends later- I'm totally out of touch with each and every one of them. For better or worse, I've "moved on". Now I'm pleasantly alone - mildly horny....but at 75 that's fading as well.

Buying meat in quantities is not wise IMO...too much to store, and most good meats get "freezer burn" after a few months. I even stopped buying those Omaha steaks "deals"... Best strategy; when you're in the mood for Beef/steer, go to the local butcher or even your regular store now has prime cuts...grass-fed/spoiled animal meats...etc. Aldi's even has Buffalo/bison, and Ostrich. Buy a couple...enjoy them fresh.

I found this verbose diatribe....a bit wordy and long....but it gets to the root...to the heart of why Trump supporters do support him. I don't know the O.P. nor the "lady named Bev....but it sure rings true; The question is, "Why do people continue supporting Trump no matter what he does?" A lady named Bev answered it this way: “You all don't get it. I live in Trump country, in the Ozarks in southern Missouri, one of the last places where the KKK still has a relatively strong established presence. I'm not favoring them, and I'm not favoring liberals...but I understand the cult of Trump. They don't give a shit what he does. He's just something to rally around and hate liberals, that's it, period. He absolutely realizes that and plays it up. They love it. He knows they love it. The fact that people act like it's anything other than that proves to them that liberals are idiots, all the more reason for high fives all around. If you keep getting caught up in "why do they not realize this problem" and "how can they still back Trump after this scandal," then you do not understand what the underlying motivating factor of his support is. It's "fuck liberals", that's pretty much it. They don't have the mental facilities to debate.
