Why So Irritated By Believers Comments?

There's love, hate, and indifference. Those who go in to a tirade are in the "hate" stage...they either 1. Have doubts about their own convictions, or 2. Are exhausted with the constant proselytizing, or 3. A little of both. The "indifference" strategy is, to me, the best. You ignore ...

I have smooth jazz, ZZ Top, Brian Adams, the Beatles, and a few others queued up and ready to go on my "Slacker"....great sound system. And the cost should be free; I'm still under the 6 months free supercharging from buying the car jan 8. If you test drive a Tesla and consider buying, use my referral code; it'll give you 1000 extra free Supercharger miles. http://ts.la/robert4003

Moravian comments on Jun 15, 2019:
By my arithmetic that works out at 6 cents per mile which sounds like good value compared to diesel or petrol even allowing for the cheap fuel prices in the US. Of course you have to factor in the extra cost of an electric car and the possible replacement of batteries during the life of the car.
Robecology replies on Jun 15, 2019:
I've had a Tesla since 2013. I've replaced the battery twice; and it was their tab (under warrantee!) I even had to replace a coupe of motors! But they make the experience easy. This newer one has a much better range; 335 miles - So I should make better time on this trip. I'm also going because my "free supercharging" expires soon....so this, too, is on Tesla. But even if/when we have to pay for it the cost is far cheaper than gas...and far less polluting. Do contact your nearest Tesla for a test drive. If you decide to buy...use my referral code for a 1000 free supercharger miles. http://ts.la/robert4003

@Williamcristiano Point taken; but according to these statistics, gun possession is Brazil is 8.6 per 100,000; in the US it's 120 per 100,000. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_firearm-related_death_rate So you have twice the murder/homicides, whereas we have more suicides, and accidents. We have far more "mass-killiings" (terrorist acts, usually by American born youths) than you do. So both our nations have bad gun habits. My only argument with you is your claim that the "far left took away your rights" but then you said the "majority of population voted in favor to buy firearms"....I'm still not clear on that; was that a "buy-back". - or an offer to buy guns from the general population? So you "sold" your guns to the government...you didn't have to surrender them?

Believing that all those Sanders voters somehow should have been expected to not vote for Trump may be to misunderstand how primary voters behave. https://www.npr.org/2017/08/24/545812242/1-in-10-sanders-primary-voters-ended-up-supporting-trump-survey-finds

@brentan Google is your friend, Brent! Colitas, "Little Tails", or its slang, "Little Buds". On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair, warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air... This part of the lyrics of the song "Hotel California", by the Eagles, brought on curiosity about the word, as the bigger quest for understanding the entire song itself has met with as many "ideas" as to its meaning... but... The word "colitas" means literally, "Little Tails", thus use of the slang, "colitas", (as referenced in the song) meaning the burning of little marijuana 'tails/buds'.

@brentan I like the blocking strategy here on A.com; it allows a time limit....which to me works fine. I love debate; I worked on debate teams in college and where I taught; and I will not tolerate someone who starts calling names. But there's debating, there's arguing, theres' One-up-manship, and there's just ragging on others because that's how they were raised...and they think it's right. ...sorry -I won't tolerate it/them. But to your point; I've blocked some for a month, some for three months - none permanently. They'll all see my posts soon enough; and I'll see theirs. @Cutiebeauty The politics of conservatism is the trigger that's being pulled on this scenario. Conservative/religulous are the biggest climate deniers...so they're working hard to keep the FFC (the Fossil Fuel consortium) alive and well. and that could continue the Fossil fuel use/abuse scenario for decades; creating that runaway global warming, which will, in turn, produce more SS#5 or stronger hurricanes/typhoons...which will, in turn, make the fantasy story I wrote about....a reality.

@brentan Point taken. But if you examine why or who you hate, you understand my point. The problem is; too many won't examine the why or who. They enjoy the suffering, the wallowing in negativity. Many here; including @Heidi68 who I had to block, just want to argue because that's how they were raised. They had negative, hostile parents whose only way to show them love was to be aggressive or hateful; so to them, hateful arguing is the only way they can express themselves. Hence she's blocked. You know better; you apparently know how to debate; some do, some don't. There are folk who are depressed, angry, frustrated, and hateful to what appears to be no one or no one thing. But if you dig in to their past - the reason lies there. If these folk would get out a pencil and paper, and started listing their feelings - they might better come to know themselves; and once knowing the source of that "negative feeling" they can then dig themselves out of that hole.... But the question remains; do they want to? Some just - as you say, 'get out of bed every morning ready to hate the world and everyone in it". They are, indeed - suffering. They're stuck in a style that they learned as children. They don't see their fortune, their luck in just being alive. They don't know how to win a debate without name-calling, or low-minded attacks on the debater rather than the issue. I do, indeed, feel sorry for them. But they won't read this; and they wallow in their hostility like a warm mud pit. I think behavioral scientists are narrowing down their issues; The image below is, in a nutshell, why, despite my suffering, I consider myself fortunate. You have a point. But the system is complicated and entangled. The insurance companies enable the pharmaceutical companies. The Republicans want regulations removed...the Democrats want regulations increased. Profits rule; so the profits grow, the ins and Pharma co grows, overdose deaths grow. The profiteers don't care about the deaths. Republicans dominate and grow. Some dems profit...so they stay quiet. Example; A doc prescribes an opiate. The pill "costs" say, $50 each. But the insurance pays $48 of that. So the cost to the patient is relatively low....so they buy in. Then they become addicted...and die from an overdose. And the insurance companies and the Pharma companies rake in huge profits. The present death rate from overdose is horrendous....191 per day in America. https://d14rmgtrwzf5a.cloudfront.net/sites/default/files/odr-graph1.jpg It's like they criticized the "death boards" that Obama wanted...yet they're quietly allowing America (and other nations..but America leads) to put their sick and elderly to death. @altschmerz The part about using Reptilian DNA to fill in the strands? That was pure fiction. We've also not been able to extract any DNA from the blood of mosquitoes in Amber, either. We've found actual well preserved flesh from extinct species over 10K years old (they might have been on earth as recently as 6000 years BC.) 2. They're very much like elephants; so if we ever can induce a transfer of Mammoth DNA in to the fertilized egg of an elephant it could happen. I'll search the latest on that and put the link here. Good question I found this; "They have so far failed to find enough to perform cloning experiments. " "While some scientists have therefore ruled out using this technique to bring mammoths back from extinction, all hope may not be lost as some think it is possible to merge genes taken from preserved specimens with those of their closest living relative—the Asian elephant." Thank you, Canada, for thinking so wisely, and socially benevolent. We in America are ashamed of our Religulous leaders and backwards POTUS. You guys need to offer to buy Florida. Please? You need a summer home. How about Puerto Rico? Make it a "Canadian province in the "island...
Robecology replies on Jun 9, 2019:
@dan325 I live in a "Snowbird" community; filled during the winter, empty during the summer (yep - I get the pool and the beach to myself). ...and many of the Snowbirds are Canadian. I think they're big investors in Florida and other tropical destinations.
a dance, I don't know what else to say - [player.vimeo.com]
Robecology comments on Jun 9, 2019:
These men are sacrificing a masculine outfit to be part of an artistic effort. Maybe their motive is the purity of the dance. Maybe they're just happy to be close to such beautiful, fit women But they're there...wearing very feminine outfits...because the costume designer demanded it. ...
Robecology replies on Jun 9, 2019:
@Allamanda This seems to be first thoughts of many viewers because wearing dresses or skirts is not even close to being a trend in men's wear...but wearing pants and jeans by women is. . Women's "pants suits" and jeans have become common; whereas the only men in "kilts" or "skirts" are the traditional Scotsman - and even they are increasingly rare. Having all the dancers wear "tights" or a "unitard" would have worked... But the choreographer or costume designer has an obvious bend toward feminizing the men dancers - so it's reduced the video to a bit of an oddity, or joke. The producer has made a point....but lost a lot of impact; too many will laugh at this. I viewed the other videos by this artist. (S)he leans toward the absurd; A man walking around with a "mast" to a plastic boat raft...eventually mounts it on the raft and floats away....I don't follow the point of the film. Artistic? I don't "get it"...
The master plan.

well it's much cheaper than having the state pay for yet another unwanted child

The bigger question is...why doesn't America see that fundamental wisdom?

I'm sorry; but I must disagree. If the Congress starts closing in on DJT he'll just resign. He'll hand the reigns over to Pence; like Nixon did to Ford. That will throw us from the frying pan into the fire; because Pence will then pardon DJT. Pence is Trump's worshiper. His "do-boy"....
Robecology replies on Jun 8, 2019:
@dan325 I hope you're right. I'm giving long odds that he'll step down voluntarily; although I've read several articles supporting it (only because if he does so soon enough he'll avoid persecution - and if he plays his cards right can get full retirement benefits). https://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-resign-2019-family-immunity-1276990
I agree with this👍😊

Yes...they're a big reason you can't do barefoot on most beaches lately....

Did you give them each a worm?
Robecology replies on Jun 8, 2019:
@FrayedBear I was thinking along those lines. Did you know that NDT said he wants to be buried so his molecules can be used relatively quickly by other organisms? It makes sense...to get back in to the "circle of life" quicker...go for a ground burial.... > Quotes > Quotable Quote Neil deGrasse Tyson “I would request that my body in death be buried not cremated, so that the energy content contained within it gets returned to the earth, so that flora and fauna can dine upon it, just as I have dined upon flora and fauna during my lifetime” ― Neil deGrasse Tyson

@dan325 I've given away over a dozen; I'm on my third dozen....wear 'em and share 'em. You're the one who predicts he'll last the entire term (and....shudder....the next 4 years if he's re-elected)... I'm betting these pins will be obsolete (and a collector's item) before 1/20/21!
