I understand your frustration. As a short man who's often attracted to voluptuous's been a problem for me. And we men are in love with curvy...and even "voluptuous"...but we fear/loathe "obesity". I've seen this happen to at least 2 partners. They go from - as you suggested - curvy to - voluptuous to - dare I say it...fat. I've kept close to ideal I have to be honest here....the weight gain is a simple turn-off. Yet women of the past are always a little more appealing to most men if they are, in fact, slightly overweight. The catchword is "slightly". But here's the catch. Obesity is a world-wide disease that's growing rapidly (See the link) -and it's not your fault. Doting parents set you up - quite innocently, really, to overeat. Before you could walk and talk; when you were upset food was put in your mouth. So the challenge is to break habits that are deeply ingrained in us. The trick is to do two things... 1. Tolerate hunger...especially at bedtime 2. Get moving - make sweating a daily habit. You'll be "struck by lightning" more often if you lose the weight. Good luck.

You might want to consider a fairer point of view so you can correct your behaviors before the next "hater" comes along. Please don't assume men hate any more than women do. And consider what hate is. It really is the opposite of love. You rarely hate someone who's a's often a loved one who "allegedly" betrayed or lied to you (or you to them) so you hate that the love has broken down...and the why is not you hate that they no longer love you. Next time consider how you act that leads to the betrayal or the breaking in trust. You may be encouraging the Hate in your partners.

To fellow scientists: How do you deal with people in social settings that speak with authority ...
Robecology comments on Jul 3, 2019:
Good scientists enjoy being proven wrong. They relish it...especially if your proof is detailed or documented well. Pseudo-scientists espouse lots of info but rarely "cite" their sources. They come on as "know-it-alls" and instead of telling you sources, they'll put the onus on you to "prove me wrong". So to answer your question of "How do you deal with people in social settings that speak with authority..." I reply; "as a teacher, I constantly reminded my students that "being a scientist" is a state of mind...not a paid position. If you are a calm skeptic....not rude, not just quietly demand the facts and evidence - you're being "a scientist". If the person espousing the information is reluctant to "show proof" then you've won the scientific debate; you're being the scientist....they're not.

Wow! Researchers have suggested that the finding may reflect an example of self-mummification where monks undertook years of grueling rituals to mummify themselves to death. The practice was also widespread in Japan, starting over 1,000 years and continuing until it was banned in the 19 th century. For the first 1,000 days, the monks ceased all food except nuts, seeds, fruits and berries and they engaged in extensive physical activity to strip themselves of all body fat. For the next one thousand days, their diet was restricted to just bark and roots. Near the end of this period, they would drink poisonous tea made from the sap of the Urushi tree, which caused vomiting and a rapid loss of body fluids. It also acted as a preservative and killed off maggots and bacteria that would cause the body to decay after death. In the final stage, after more than six years of torturous preparation, the monk would lock himself in a stone tomb barely larger than his body, where he would go into a state of meditation. He was seated in the lotus position, a position he would not move from until he died. A small air tube provided oxygen to the tomb. Each day, the monk rang a bell to let the outside world know he was still alive. When the bell stopped ringing, the tube was removed and the tomb sealed for the final thousand day period of the ritual.

@RavenCT I think the present system is intentionally complex to avoid or discourage massive random blocking. If someone's being a "jerk" - you name calling them is the lowest form of debate - and shows that either you're admitting they possibly have a point to make that you object to - or they truly are ignorant and offensive - but again; name calling and blocking them doesn't address the issue. Challenge them. Ask why they think or comment the way they do. That way you're educating them, and you're raising your own awareness. There's ignoring, as well. Don't be afraid to debate. And don't "take offense" so easily. "You add to the suffering in the world when you take offense, just as much as you do when you give offense." Ken Keyes Jr.

No carbon brick formation will do anything of consequence to end the growth of CO2 in the environment. This is putting an undersized bandaid on an advanced for of cancer. We know how to fix this. We need to attack the source; not make carbon bricks that ocean plants do far more efficiently and faster. We need to; Stop the federal supplementation and "subsidizing" (paying broke companies to keep at mining and refining) of fossil fuels. The United States has spent more subsidizing fossil fuels in recent years than it has on defense spending, according to a new report from the International Monetary Fund. The IMF found that direct and indirect subsidies for coal, oil and gas in the U.S. reached $649 billion in 2015. Pentagon spending that same year was $599 billion.

I'm writing this as a way to self-talk - to motivate myself to lose my extra 10 pounds I've been carrying around for decades. Remember; changing your diet is tougher than quitting smoking or getting off heroin. Drug habits start in our teen years... Food habits start before we can walk and talk. So be tolerant of your addiction; but realize it is an addiction...and fight hard to extend your life - and get to your ideal weight.

Bees, like most stinging insects, only attack as a last measure. Remember; bees lose their life to sting you just once. Did you know you can hold most spiders in your hand? Just don't ever try to "restrict" them from moving...or they will insist that you don't quite harshly. Good news about bee keepers and honey collectors; most bee keepers are going to more "neutral-smoke" for "smoking" hives... "Smoke masks alarm pheromones which include various chemicals, e.g., isopentyl acetate that are released by guard bees or bees that are injured during a beekeeper's inspection. The smoke creates an opportunity for the beekeeper to open the beehive and work while the colony's defensive response is interrupted." They still can be "stung" if they trap or compress an individual; so careful bee-keepers avoid doing this. Bee smoker - Wikipedia

You can't call that the "dem strategy". Folks jumped in because they thought they could win. It wasn't "party strategy" that made them get was their desire to rule/lead. Stop blaming "the party" for anti-Bernie. Bernie's great. He has my vote- if he wins the nomination. Let's just continue to watch the debates, and see who "floats to the top"....and stop this anti DNC rant. The corporate (read wealthy, influential) dems watch the debates too. They will throw their cash to whomever impresses them. If you want to change this, push to overturn Citizen's United....not the democratic party The ACLU agrees with me; "We understand that the amount of money now being spent on political campaigns has created a growing skepticism in the integrity of our election system that raises serious concerns."

Back from my "no diet/eat-all-you-want" 2 week trip. I thought I gained a lot more; the scale at home says I'm still in the 140's (a couple pounds gained) time to get hungry again!
Booooom! Love this girl, been with her (as her P.A) before I decided to moved here🇭🇰

Robecology comments on Jun 28, 2019:
Marriage is a challenge. You have to learn give and take. You have to learn compromise. Some say it's a higher level of relationships.....some suggest it's more challenging to live with...and love....yourself. I just stayed with a couple who have been married 52 years. They sleep in separate rooms. Act rude to eachother. But still do things for eachother. I'm not sure if they're very happy. - - - - - - - - I've tried Both. 1st marriage; 10 years (she died young, of cancer). 2nd...11 years. 3rd only 2, the fourth only 5. Living by myself was frightening and insecure at first. I'm finally falling deeply in love with exactly who I compromising. More challenging? Easier? Not sure.

Robecology comments on Jun 27, 2019:
I'm retired. But my day goes by swiftly...sometimes, too fast. I'm on the computer often...but I try to get at least a half-hour to 2 hours of decent exercise in. Biking, swimming...even hitting balls shot at me by the tennis machine. Get that strenuous workout'll make your day less "tedious".

Robecology comments on Jun 26, 2019:
I surprise everyone when I tell them I'm a retired public school teacher on a fixed income....and I own a tesla S. Yes; my income is around $50K a year... So....I live frugally....and drive deluxe. It's worth it to me.

The "game players" are also waving flags. They're warning you that they're not ready for a mature relationship - or they aren't that "in" to you and don't know how to be honest enough about that. Don't take it personally. They're lame, injured, or disabled in some just recognize their lameness...and move on.
