Friends and family don't 'get" that I just sit in the LR overlooking the panoramic view almost every day...with little else but the computer, FB, WWF, and you folk here. But I feel that the sky's colors are one of the highlights of my day! (Judging....sorry....not sorry).

There's no way around it; if you want to lose weight, you have to get comfortable with being hungry part of your day. Best, toward the evenings. I've found that even If I've been "bad"....eating junk food, no probiotics (greek yogurt's my favorite) - but stopping eating early in the evening.....say by 5 PM....and then letting hunger creep in....that the next morning I weigh less. It's about controlling, and tolerating hunger. Simple;

Point taken about the "sparse" service centers...but remember the Kia has thousands more moving parts; pistons, valves, transmissions, etc that the simple Tesla doesn't have.....thus it needs far less servicing! I've had Teslas since 2013 and have NEVER taken it in for any fluids, checks, tests, etc. A few times I had to call them..and they came to me for a problem headlight, problems with the trim, etc....but that's it. Standard, or "stick" shift was common in the 50's....but with the growth of "automatic" transmissions...then "stick shift" went away. It's challenging to learn....and requires special skills. It will fade away as automatic transmissions become simpler. As a life-long Ecologist - I've been saving and conserving the dumbest stuff. I'm a fairly regular dumpster diver. I'm borderline obsessive with the 5 R's..(renewing, reusing recycling, restoring, re-purposing....there's more...I bet you can come up with a few)? But... Having said that...would I live in a "small" place? I guess so...I'm guessing most would say I'm in a "small" home now. I recently (2015) downsized from a 3-2 to a 2-2 condo. Would I live "large" if i had more $$$? Don't think so. I love my AC bills under $100 most months (in Florida...that's the main Electricity bill generator). And I'm glad I moved from a high-ceiling place to a normal height one.

The knives are a personal matter, IMO. Knives can be heavy or light. Beautiful handles or boring. The steel used doesn't seem to matter much; I find "Henkels" knives overpriced. Give "induction" cooktops a try. You can buy a small "induction" cooktop for a single pot for less than $100. They're faster than gas. They don't get dangerously hot (they are basically tiny spinning magnets that heat up any steel or iron pan/pot) The down side is you can't use any aluminum cookware. I'm buying a third induction cooktop/oven combo for a Condo I just purchased as a vacation rental in Ft Pierce Florida.

Up to 5 foot 6 inches for 60 + years. Actually might be shrinking...I'm told. Let me be less "Flippant" to the Llama lady and my agnostic friends... It's a good day! Cloudy, warm not raining (yet...but overcast)...waiting to hear from the furniture guy about picking up the oven and frige in the new Condo I bought. Will then order an Induction cooktop/oven and side-by-side refrigerator ice and water through the door. Getting excited about "fixing up" the place; the fellow who will "remove the Popcorn ceiling" and putting in ceiling fans is scheduled for Monday. Did 4 miles of biking in a half-hour...good workout. If anyone would like a nice place to stay for a week/month at a time; the Condo I bought will be ready to rent as of July 1. Basic costs will be $90 a night; week minimum stay, 85 a night if you do 30 days/month stay. Prices go up $10 bucks a night in November. It's a 2/1.5 townhouse (attached to other buildings on one side). It's inside a gated community, and right on a 9 hole walk-only golf course.. and the place comes well equipped; everything from a set of clubs to fishing poles, gear, and tennis rackets. Anyways. Simply put, “anyway” without an S is correct. But a lady friend who i care about uses it.. and she doesn't mount toilet paper the right way. Uggghhhh. (I know...I'm weird....not her). Always use it without the S. “Anyways” with the S is considered slang, and is a part of nonstandard, colloquial, or informal English. It depends on how deep you want to go. Remember FB - and even here...you are in "good company" based on the groups you choose to join; so you tend to join groups of folk with personalities similar to yours. I've tried joining Conservative or pro-Trump or pro-gun groups....they just either are uncomfortable with your POV at best...or will curse at you and threaten you for your comments at worst. Those who are not easy to get along with will block you - or you may end up blocking them.

I suspect there is far more of this than anyone knows.

This whole issue was "triggered" by a clearly overly violent arrest....but the deeper underlying problem is complex; 1. We still accept and tolerate racism 2. The "greed" addiction is thriving, surviving, and still encouraged. 3. Family planning and population. control is largely being ignored; the connections between growth and social problems isn't being made.

The minorities are experiencing a transition. The smart are getting smarter. The dumb are getting dumber. As I phased in to retirement I would change the seating charts - to allow those doing well to sit in back, and those not doing well in front. The great majority of students doing well...at least in my classes - -were minority kids. Yet too many minority members are still suffering obesity, and loss of businesses and careers...like the gent above. The wisest among us -any color - any social status - any cultural condition - are realizing that the long term solution is family planning....and having fewer kids. Malthus said, over 200 years ago (1812) "As the quantity of life increases, the quality decreases". We are still learning that lesson.

You're watching too much news. Yes- the economic pressure is strongly increased. Yes; there's more poor folk on the streets Yes; there's more homeless people. Yes; a very large proportion of those dying from COVID19 (and other causes) is disproportionately hitting the poor, the unhealthy ,and the obese. Yes; the police in America - are showing their racist tendencies. But life goes on - pretty much as normal. Learn the lesson. Tighten your belt. Eat smarter. Go shopping less. Wear a mask in crowds. If you catch.a cold, don't go out - isolate. Wise minorities are avoiding trouble. My best students have been the minorities. They're wising up....and moving ahead - quickly. Turn off that TV news. It's not "fake" but they sure do a good job of "making a mountain out of a molehill"
