I saw bison/buffalo ground meat for sale recently at Aldi's...about $6-7 a pound, 95% lean. Pretty closely priced to similarly lean beef. Bison/buffalo is finally coming down to competitive price levels. When I was out in Montana last year, I got in to a discussion with a major beef grower there. He said buffalo were definitely cheaper to raise, but "butchering" them required expensive equipment because they basically have no neck; so it's hard to. "Lock them in" to a butchering brace.

Robecology replies on May 13, 2019:
@Cutiebeauty and @Marionville All I'm saying is that ideally - If contraception is freely available - then the only reason for an abortion will be if the child is observed, prenatally, to have developed a deformity that the parents decide they can't live with- or if she's pregnant from a failure of a contraceptive tool, or rape. So they won't have to use "abortion" as a form of birth control except in extreme cases. I don't get the "rape" restrictions...but if a woman knows she's pregnant from a rape - it's the wise woman who seeks an early abortion before the archaic laws kick in. https://medicine.wustl.edu/news/access-to-free-birth-control-reduces-abortion-rates/

We can't and won't stop eating fish. What we are doing right now is turning to fish farming. We were once hunter-gatherers for a reason. We then saw that "gathering" wasn't enough...so we evolved plant farming. Then land animal farming. Now we've finally turned a corner on shrimp and fish farming as well. We already raise and breed many species of endangered land animals in zoos. We have discovered Tilapia, Oyster, clam and Shrimp farms; and most big store chains are successfully selling farmed fish very effectively. Lobster farming has already started. It's true; the farmed fish don't have all the "trace" elements/nutrients of wild caught. But how does wild cattle, or wild pig, compared to domesticated? How does wild grown oats and tomatoes compare to domesticated? Sorry; farming was, is, and will be the only way we willl continue to grow as a population. Not that I'm at all happy about that growth; as pointed out, above. But until we reach ZPG....this is how we will avoid decimation of ocean (and land) wildlife, while feeding the growing populace.

Even though this has been a massive bomb drop in my life, it has been decades in the making,” he tweeted. The tweets have since been made private, but a screenshots of the tweets were posted on Reddit. “When I was in 8th grade and I was reading Greek mythology, it dawned on me how much of the supernatural interactions between the deity of the Bible and mankind sounded like ancient mythology. That seed of doubt never went away,” he added. It went on to explain that even though he was a committed Christian that it could not help or save his marriage. “I was fully devoted to studying the scriptures. I think I missed maybe 12 Sundays in 40 years. I had completely memorized 18 books of the Bible and was reading through the bible for the 24th time when I walked away,” he wrote. “As an adult my marriage was a sham and a constant source of pain for me. I did everything I was supposed to – marriage workshops, counseling, Bible reading together, date nights every week, marriage books – but my marriage never became what I was promised it would be,” he said. He then added that the church was a place of abuse for him, and that church people are “sh*tty” people. “The entire system is rife with abuse. And not just from the top down, sure there are abusive church leaders, but church leaders are abused by their congregants as well. Church people are just sh*tty to each other,” he tweeted. @altschmerz I've explored the 'alleged" shortage projected. These shortages were first attacked by posting images of open-pit copper mines. Most - if not all - of the materials for the new batteries are available by "evaporative" mining...like we get salt from ocean water. Beware. The FFC...the Fossil fuel consortium...is organizing a big anti-EV campaign. They are working hard to instill doubt in the progress of EV batteries. I'm a 6 year owner of 2 teslas (one bought in 2013, traded in this past January for a late 2018). The posts I've made say that EV's will soon explode on the market. VW, Mercedes, and Ford will be the EV leaders soon - but Tesla will welcome the competition - and is likely to stay on top. You "aint seen nothin' yet"...watch this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7Jg1IJ68_g

You supported my point 100%. It's just not likely. If they exist they're way too far away. Even if they figured out a "wormhole' or way to travel many light years in seconds; they would not likely "invade" but try to communicate; but it seems that "wormhole" idea is just too absurd and fictional. I also concur with you; it's not a matter of "if" but "when"we will eventually get intelligent radio signals from a distant, advanced being; but we have to remember; we've been putting out radio and TV signals for over 100 years. If perchance an advanced alien being intercepted and translated them, it's likely they'll be watching early radio and/or TV. Now....if their first broadcast they get is "War of the Worlds" then I can see they might be pissed off (tongue in cheek).

@RobertMartin There's plenty of fossil evidence to trace their ancestry. Many signs prove that dolphins have terrestrial origins. They need to come to the surface of the water to get air is one factor. Their bones strongly resemble the limbs of many animals that live on land. Dolphins have spines that move vertically, and this is a characteristic mainly found in animals that can run on land. When you look at the movements of fish, their spines move horizontally. https://www.dolphins-world.com/dolphin-evolution/

Not so sure about that. Do you have any data? facts? references? I found this; https://www.quora.com/How-many-people-have-died-because-of-religion Warren Kramer Answered Nov 26, 2016 · Author has 5.9k answers and 11.9m answer views How many people have died because of religion? You will hear it stated and re-stated often that “religion has caused more violence than anything else in history” or some variation thereof. This statement is provably false and historically inaccurate. Most wars have been about resources (give me your stuff), power (bow down to me, not some god), or political and border disputes. Only about 7% of all wars in history have been waged for religious causes, accounting for only about 2% of all of history’s war deaths. That’s ALL RELIGION, not just the Christian faith. When we consider that half of history’s religious wars have been Islamic, and a number of them non-Abrahamic faiths, the Christian faith has been responsible for less than 1% of all history’s war deaths. https://qph.fs.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-078d663bfda02fc8d8a010d173fe2b97-c If you want to discuss incidents other than war, we cannot count the Holocaust as “religious” violence, since Hitler hated Christians and killed other non-Aryan races as well. The Holocaust was genocide, not religious violence. But even if you count it, the total is between 16 and 31 million deaths due to religion in recorded history. Again, this is even if you count the Holocaust as “Christian” violence rather than ethnic genocide. If you don’t, the total is going to be from 10 to 25 million. Other non-war violence will not give you a total of anything near another million. For example, the Salem witch trials occurred in colonial Massachusetts between 1692 and 1693. More than 200 people were accused of practicing witchcraft—the Devil's magic—and 20 were executed. Eventually, the colony admitted the trials were a mistake and compensated the families of those convicted. In fact, anti-religion has caused more deaths than religion. Communist dictators enforcing their religion-free societies have accounted for more deaths than all the religious violence in all history. Mao and Stalin alone account for over 100 million deaths, and the Kims in North Korea are killing, imprisoning, and exiling Christians daily. These account for more deaths than all religions put together through all history, let alone just Christians.

@Cutiebeauty Exactly. In 2009, then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced that the United States would seek membership in the HRC—reversing the policy of former President George W. President Bush’s ambassador to the UN, John R. Bolton, likened joining the Human Rights Council to “getting on board the Titanic after it’s hit the iceberg.” President Obama’s policy of working with the Council, rather than critiquing it from the outside, has been the subject of much debate ever since, with skeptics maintaining that the HRC is irretrievably flawed. https://www.cfr.org/blog/assessing-us-membership-un-human-rights-council

Maybe you're feeling a pang of guilt? I'm guessing you have Obese kids? Grandkids? Like I said; it wasn't your fault; you did the best with what you knew. I can only hope - my message is clear - I hope that parents are making wiser diet choices for their children. That's not an aggressive nor negative desire.... and I wish you'd back off with the attacks? BTW since you asked.... If you want more of the same ol' status quo and seeing Trump win another election vote for one of those centrist corporate shills. If you want to see REAL change you should really consider getting behind Justice Democrats and BNC "Brand New Congress" and vote for Sanders, Warren, Gabbard. I'm still ...

@Looking4-Others Got it...thanks...and I concur. Ms. Gabbard is good, but not that well known, nor that articulate. She's young. A few more years in he circuit will give her more credit.

That is one sick man. Our nation is suffering a major epidemic....look at this map... http://www.slate.com/content/dam/slate/articles/news_and_politics/map_of_the_week/2013/04/130417-MOTW-obesity-map.gif
Robecology replies on May 5, 2019:
@EllieUnique You're getting far too defensive. All I know is 1. Our nation is suffering an obesity epidemic 2. All research leads to early childhood eating habits fostered by unwitting parents. 3. This has nothing to do with cancer-causing foods as you suggested. 4. You are probably not reading any of the research I'm posting....just attacking me. 5. All obese folk...whether it be the man in the image above or any person...I do not know them; so yes...they could have a variety of reasons for their obesity. But that person and others suffering that disability were just raised, before they could walk and talk, with poor eating habits. That's all I'm saying. Stop reading in to and making excuses for their obesity.

When I drove a motorcycle I could smell it in late summer cruising our country roads. Our county motto used to be the Xmas Tree Capital of the World. By value of harvest, weed wins that title by a long shot.
