There's some evolutionary work happening (the ignorant self-eliminating themselves) but in reality they're taking the wise, the studious, and the defenseless with them. @Kynlei I'm a person of contrasts. I shop the best value. I shop goodwill and other thrift shops. I'm a garage sale and flea-market "aficionado"...but I own a Tesla, an Apple computer and apple iPhone. The cheapest - or the best - for me. As to "poor people shopping at Aldi's" can you blame them? Its turning out to be a better value than Walmart. My original comment was that it's about time Walmart had some competition.!!! Glad they operate they way they do (no bags, required returns for carts).

@mcgeo52 Bingo. I often copy that comment by Goldwater. If you go down a few more paragraphs, he makes this prophetic comment; In a May 1973 interview with Time magazine's Hays Gorey, Goldwater said, "If it can be proved that he lied, resignation would have to be considered. It would be quick. Everything would be over, ended. It wouldn't drag out like impeachment." It wasn't until 17 months later that Nixon resigned; and then Ford "pardoned" him so he could have his Library and his pension. I'm betting Pence will do the same thing.

@MojoDave I never said they weren't "good science" - but note her reaction again - "This is MORE than alarming! "Insect Apocalypse". As I said above; I love Huff Post - but they push the alarmist button quite often. In the spectrum of news outlets, they trend toward the exaggeration column. Not as bad as Fox's reverse exaggeration - but they're definitely "testing the waters" of Liberal-progressive twists on the basic story. And my strategy as a relatively conservative scientist is to avoid the scare tactics. GW is real. Climate shift is real. There is a very good chance of runaway global warming that won't be fixed until major die-offs. That's real. But we like to state this subtlety so as not to get the Trumpsters "knickers in a twist".
