To extract any minerals from the environment will of course require resources and energy; but remember; it’s a one time event to mine the resources. Most of the Tesla and other E.V.’s are recyclable. I’ve “recycled” 3 batteries, already in the 66k miles I owned my first one. Any fuel car will add pounds per minute of CO2 to the environment; That won’t come close to a Tesla (unless you’re in a state dominated by Coal power plants - and coal at the power plant is triple filtered to be relatively cleaner than the average fuel car exhaust. ....and you make a good point; a high-mileage used car is good...but it’s still a polluter. My first T. got 85 MPG cost equivalent; and my new one gets 100+....and technically, since my electric here in Ft. Pierce is from a local Nuke plant, my car is nuclear powered. Zero emissions...even at the power plant. As an ecologist - that matters more to me...and saves me fuel $$$

I did consider Jag. I’m impressed with their entry in to the E.V. field. Their limited range, and no access to the Supercharger system was the clincher for me.
