I’ve done my best to help her and her daughter...but if I’m in a 12+ year relationship with a woman who’s gainfully employed (making more than I did when I was working) and I see the daughter draining her year after year, that makes me a victim as well
This woman who I fell in love with now can’t share costs like she used to. She has to “wire” her daughter emergency money. It hurts me to see this woman who I used to love dearly being taken advantage of....so where do I draw the line? Where do I not help? Where do I look the other way? What part of “enabling” do I ignore?

The ex...the daughter’s father....is disabled. He had a “stroke” and is in and out of the hospital. The daughter actually makes a token amount of $$ as a care-giver (I don’t think she’s had any formal training). Her mother has visited her far more often than the daughter has visited the mother. You may have been trying to joke...but there’s always a root of truth to the jokes...and the fact is that many truly believe that “global warming” should be making all of us “warmer”.
That’s why those of us who publish climate research don’t even like to call it “global warming” anymore....too many misinterpret that. It’s now referred to a s “Climate shifting”...
There was a great “fictional-but truth-based” movie about climate shift called “Day After Tomorrow”. I’ll share the trailer link. It was based on a truth; that the intense melting of the arctic going on now caused the mid-ocean conveyor to stop.
It was obviously fiction; but based on a lot of fact. Even the cartoon “Ice-age - the Meltdown” was based on the fact that melting ice during the last ice age had stopped the ocean currents - and thus created a mini-ice-age in Europe - while the rest of the planet was overly warmed.

BTW; weather is local temp, humidity, environmental conditions. So they’re not even comparable terms. I’m guessing you meant to say that you know the diff between weather and climate?
You may have been trying to joke...but there’s always a root of truth to the jokes...and the fact is that many truly believe that “global warming” should be making all of us “warmer”.
That’s why those of us who publish climate research don’t even like to call it “global warming” anymore....too many misinterpret that. It’s now referred to a s “Climate shifting”...
There was a great “fictional-but truth-based” movie about climate shift called “Day After Tomorrow”. I’ll share the trailer link. It was based on a truth; that the intense melting of the arctic going on now caused the mid-ocean conveyor to stop.
It was obviously fiction; but based on a lot of fact. Even the cartoon “Ice-age - the Meltdown” was based on the fact that melting ice during the last ice age had stopped the ocean currents - and thus created a mini-ice-age in Europe - while the rest of the planet was overly warmed.

I fought - a lot - with many of my “ex’s” over our diet...both home and while eating out. Living alone; I eat out where I want, when I want to. I leave what I want - take home leftovers if I’m inspired to....or leave a so-so meal.
,,,and I respect “big appetites” and “gourmet tastes” - I just don’t get the feeling that my tastes are mutually respected.
And speaking to @CutieBeauty....you mentioned that you’re “expecting” on another strand...do you find you’re “eating for two”?

@hippydog Na...I’ve blogged about it...got some good responses...(http://robecology.blogspot.com/?view=flipcard) but I have other things to do today. I just see the population growth (would you believe 158 more births, than deaths, per minute) a root, a main source of all our worldly issues.
The intro paragraph to Poodwaddle nails it;
"Today 384,701 people will be born and 156,936 people will die, resulting in a net gain of 227,765 humans (give or take a few thousand). This year 140 million babies will be born and 57 million people will die. Nearly half of these deaths will be attributed to heart disease or some form of cancer. I wouldn’t go that far. The original Republican Party was far wiser and fair-minded than those in power today. Some latinos will support the Republicans simply because they’re anti Castro or anti any Latin government leader...so you might want to check your blanket - and frankly, racist - comment.

@hippydog Those “crowded” rats did all the “unexplainables” that were happening in our society; child abuse, child neglect, trans-sexual behavior (males mounting males, males giving up on females). It was a scary premonition.

The trick is to find a S.O. who agrees with your trivial choices....or can tolerate them. “Unconditional love” is becoming rare; and as a Scientist/Demographer I know why. Search “Population Density and Social Pathology”.....by J.B. Calhoun. Basically he said; the more crowded it gets, the crazier we become - and the harder it is to make relationships work.
