Interesting, and wondering . . . did you consider any other brands before going with this one? For example, Jaguar has a very stylish and capable all-electric now. Is Tesla ownership more like a close club, where loyalty to the brand is a must?
Robecology replies on Jan 14, 2019:
I did consider Jag. I’m impressed with their entry in to the E.V. field. Their limited range, and no access to the Supercharger system was the clincher for me. Here’s a chart that compares the E.Pace to the Tesla 75D. https://o.aolcdn.com/images/dims?resize=2000%2C2000%2Cshrink=http%3A%2F%2Fo.aolcdn.com%2Fhss%2Fstorage%2Fmidas%2Ff3cf6ab888a437256242430fadb86636%2F206195978%2FJagTeslaComparo.jpg=a1acac3e1b3290917d92=b3eb48f8b7caf46f172ba7713f5c6256275172f3

Nice... I prefer a town car...
Robecology replies on Jan 14, 2019:
A “town car”? as in “Lincoln”? I was hoping for Ford to offer a Lincoln E.V.; that’s one classy car. The problem with that; and all I.C.E. (internal combustion engine) cars is they pollute, you need to gas up every few days, and the cost of fuel is many times higher than an E.V.; I technically get over 100 MPG if you translate cost of electricity to miles driven. I get 335 miles on a 100KW fill up 1 KWH costs $.10-20 cents. So that’s $10 - $20 bucks to go 335 miles. If you take a typical town car MPG (say, 20) and divide that in to 335 you get 16.75 gallons. Times say $2.25 per gallon. That’s $37 and change. Watch this; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7Jg1IJ68_g

Shells + hot glue gun + old but good quality mirror (I watch for the beveled edged ones) + 5-6 hours of loving labor = beautifully framed mirror; (see/click on pics, above).
Yeah, guilty!

@Acslaw.org - Can we assume that there's every range of American that "care about the constitution" ? Why come off with such a biased comment? Do you even comprehend the definition of “progressive"? You might want to look it up. I joined Conservative Atheists - and I consider myself ...
Robecology replies on Jan 3, 2019:
@SpikeTalon I joined this group because I’m Conservative, yet progressive. I know....sounds contradictory; but being brought up in a conservative home in the 40’s and 50’s made me this way. Basically; a conservative - in my time - demanded thorough research and a “go-slow” attitude about law changes; a Progressive demands a “go-fast” and ignore the facts to get a law changed. -but can’t we assume they both care about Constitutional rights? My point is - don’t be so quick to "believe that they don't really care about our Constitutional rights”....let’s assume they do. What would be the difference? A radical progressive would want to ban all gun sales, even demand a gun surrender program. A radical conservative would demand the right to buy guns unchecked, and own as many as they want. Does that make either more or less caring about Constitutional rights”? I don’t think so. - Now, let’s assume they both support the constitution. If your concern is the 2nd amendment - let’s agree that the wording is sloppy, unclear, and out of date at best? You know it as well as I; "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” Maybe - in my opinion as a progressive conservative - we can reword that? At least make it clear that weapon ownership should be a clear right regardless of the “well disciplined militia” stuff? (if you search that; you see some awfully outdated strategies attached). So let’s at least start from there....and drop the “they don’t really care about our Constitutional rights” stuff. Obama gave a great argument in favor of gun ownership and 2nd amendment rights here.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6imFvSua3Kg

Robecology replies on Jan 2, 2019:
Calling any Americans “idtiots” and saying “they want more voters” is slanderous, and dangerous to say. It’s not based on any evidence. Illegals can’t vote, and there’s been a steady drop in illegals over the past 20 years. Conservatives demand evidence, data, and proof before actions are made. Don’t fall in to a racist-reactionary trap - then you’re no longer a conservative. https://www.npr.org/2018/06/22/622246815/unauthorized-immigration-in-three-graphs

Robecology replies on Jan 2, 2019:
That’s unresearched, and unproven. Remember; conservatives depend on and expect thorough research before laws are changed. Stop the rumors and innuendo.

Robecology replies on Jan 2, 2019:
@Bobby9 You miss my point. Of course we need - and will always have - a selective process to enter the nation. The point I’m making is in response to the obvious exaggeration of the OP...we need a much more simplified process for immigration. I don’t mind tougher; in fact, it should be simpler, yet tougher. We as Conservatives would get more respect if we didn’t exaggerate and lie about the “dangers” of illegals. Most Conservative farm owners depend on illegals for workers. Right now a LOT of bureaucrats get rich demanding a complex web that even an educated American can’t follow. Search “U.S. Immigration steps” and you’ll get it.

@Trajan61 ...and to call Obama an "idiot" is showing your racism as well. He speaks far more intelligently, did far better in college than Trump did, and made our economy grow. He was no idiot. Robecology replies on Jun 19, 2018:
@Trajan61 There's love, hate, and indifference. Hate grows when someone who professed love lies, cheats, and back-stabs. Trump has earned the hate. I didn't love Hillary either...but you could tell by Trump's failed business dealings and his alleged rape charges that he was a slime-ball gamer who was being pushed and supported by "deplorables" - not conservatives. He is a populist, but not a conservative. I support conservative philosophies in the classic sense; minimal government involvement in rules and laws, careful and wise research before laws are created. I'm saddened that racism and sexism has welled up on the side of conservatism. There are 62 million people who are like him in America; sexist, racist, tax-cheats - but they don't even understand conservative political and social principles. They are not conservatives...libertarians, perhaps, but not conservatives. We who are atheist-agnostic aren't afraid to go against the tide on religion; and I refuse to accept that the pseudo-religious liar in the White house represents conservative principles. He represents principles of racism, fascism and sexism....and that is unacceptable to me, and should be unacceptable to all who are also agnostic conservatives; to me that's a sign that you're a thinking, logical, reasonable person. So I say that, as a social and political agnostic/conservative, I'm embarrassed by the alleged leadership of Mr. Trump. He's doing a very poor job; and you should be too.

Point taken; so let me add....The Why is within the gift; you make your own heaven or hell, your own "why" or reason for being. You do good deeds, raise good kids, and leave fond memories with generations, or you are happily forgotten. It's your choice; choose to discipline yourself to last long and do well, or chose not to - and be a taker, abuser, and short-lived person.
