I live in East coast of Florida, where the temps are moderated....so there's lots of inland areas now suffering much hotter than Florida. All I can suggest is stay cool...and work to slow down global warming. Work to "acclimate" yourselves...tolerate sweating. Where light colored clothing. Make sure that fan and AC has been "tuned up" so it won't die suddenly on you. Remember; only 2 generations ago there was no such thing as air conditioning. And our ancestors survived the warmth for thousands of generations. We can all do a token amount. Plan our trips better. Use less fossil fuels. Waste less, recycle more. It will continue to get hotter...and the "slope" of the increase isn't a straight line...it's curving more upwards every day.

I make a "muscle" brownie that works for me. A regular brownie mix; spiked with a cup of oatmeal (put in the food processor to be "floured" ) a scoop or two of "protein powder" and eggs without yolks (more protein less fat). If you like a gooey brownie, leave the oil mixture as prescribed on the box, or even add a bit more. If you like a "low fat" brownie, then do less oil. Sometimes I throw in some greek yogurt as well. DON"T OVERCOOK! For a chunkiness, I add dried cranberries, pecans or walnuts, and sometimes dried papaya or pineapple.

So to sum it up; you're becoming agnostic, but you don't want to "advertise" it, or get in to debates about it. Am I getting the gist, here? My answer? The older and wiser you get, the more you ask questions about "myths". Blind faith is hard to sustain in this day and age...so kudos to you for recognizing your shift in values. There's no agnostic "church'. No places to meet. No groups to hang with. There is this website...which as you see is growing and expanding. I encourage you to stay. Join groups that you might be interested in. Share your bio and some pics. Life is short. Share a smile...that's all we ask.... You have to know where you're fishing. What kind of bottom. What pollution level is the water. When are the fish biting. Are they good eating or not. Is it from dock, boat, or bridge. Lures vs live bait. Good "tackle" vs old/cheap tackle. Live bait put on the hook well vs not put on well could also make a difference. So many variables makes fishing for your dinner a questionable and challenging thing to do.

Trim and freeze them...they freeze fairy well....use zip-lock bags and suck the air out of them once you've filled a bag up...they'll last for months, and defrost fairly well....or use them frozen in smoothies....or make a puree out of them....mmmmmm. Sugar - or any kind of honey or flavored syrups - are good options to bag them with...

At times I put way too much research into a food related subject.

"Neither of the above are good choices are far as nutrition goes. If you're a food Nazi, that is important. But, really, with food Nazis, healthy eating is not the real goal. The real goal is to make others miserable by harping at them about what they eat. I tell you what: the food Nazis out there can just shut the hell up and let us eat our tasty food in peace, They're incapable of doing that, of course. You pointed out why I stopped counting calories and just watch portion size, time I eat, weight, and the hunger factor. I also find it important to "sweat" every day...whether by exposure to hot weather, or a hard workout. Preferably both. It's easier to measure those.... I reached 144 yesterday, back up a half pound to 145.2 today.... bike ride coming up..followed by a nice late lunch of chicken and veggies - including the last carrots from my winter garden! ...and for dessert....one of my sister's brownies...one per day until they're gone....early evening so I'm hungry by bedtime... I'm promising! (to myself, really!)

I bike 4-6 miles a day, for 1/2 hour to an hour. My average speed is 8 MPH. On a good day I'll get 9 MPH average. I should call me club the Sloth biking club.
