What does everybody here think about the importance of chemistry to a relationship ?

Chemistry or "spark" is important...but too often it's something subtle - even subconscious - that triggers - or doesn't trigger - this spark. That's why several dates and "taking it slowly" is important. Habits - good and bad - need to come out. The tolerance for habits needs to be tested. This takes time to make a relationship work.

As a result of his work on Zoo Parade Perkins was offered the job in 1963 for which most North Americans remember him: host of the nature show Wild Kingdom.

It's a good question; only because Buddhism doesn't believe in anything mythical happening to the founder, Buddha...Although the stories of his life are filled with alleged mythology, there's nothing about him dying and being 'reborn' or being born of a virgin.
One of its principles, however, will make you "religious" for following it...and atheist for not following.

When women marry, their traditional vows are to "obey" - remember?
The church (and for that matter, all the religions of the world) expect male dominance.
The men - according to any #religulous - are the family planners. The women "offer" themselves "when the men are ready"....so they've basically fostered rape in relationships; couples have sex when HE's ready....not her.

Gay sex is wayyyyyy overplayed. (and no...I'm not gay and never was...but have had gay friends and family)
I've asked several gay couples how they "enjoyed" it...they concurred..
it worked once, failed/was uncomfortable too often...
so they just snuggle.
They love each-other....and the "horrible" stories about gay sex are just not there.
We've seen many "gay couples" - we just never knew they were "gay"....
We need to be far more tolerant of same-sex couples. Thanks, @altschmerz for this tongue-in-cheek post!

The CBS TV series "God friended me" caught my eye because it came right after 20-20.
Having watched a few chapters....I like the concept. The story line goes something like " a computer wizard "tags" an atheist/agnostic vocal podcast producer with folk who, at first, he doesn't see why someone named "god" on the internet/facebook would single this "tag" out as a "friend suggestion". But the podcaster seeks the person out...finds out how he's "connected" to the person....does something to "help" that person, and then the show ends...but not before a new "friend suggestion" pops up at the end of an episode.
After several episodes, we see the podcaster re-connects with his father ( a very good and seasoned actor who plays a minister in a local church) a smart cutie (for the romance/eye-candy aspect/hook), an asian/middle-eastern computer wizard, and eventually the Computer wizard" who's playing "god" and proposing these weird "friend suggestions".
Cute story. Not a bit #religulous but they don't ever "assume" the supernatural elements are either true nor "correct"...but they do point out that they are benevolent (almost beyond belief)

I'm feeling that these last pushes toward conservatism, toward resisting women's equality, towards racism is just that...last pushes from the "cornered rats" who feel desperate that their way of life is no longer "the ideal"
What's ideal?
-I'm afraid to use the term; but in a word...."Globalism".
That would be...
-all of us speaking one language.
-no borders
-one economy
-stabilized growth...in fact....no growth, the new word will be sustainability.
-A population that's reached ZPG.
-Little or no "religion". Charity still working - but not because an imaginary power demands it.
-Most, if not all "diseases" cured. Anti-aging chemicals and genetic procedures allow us to stay fit and healthy decades longer.
-No burning of fuels for energy. Not coal, not fossil fuels. Not hydrogen, not wood, not cow chips.
-No need for "combustion"...except for entertainment.
-We would even phase out nuclear. Geothermal's already in place in Iceland, for example; so I'm not talking about putting wind-generators or tidal-flow gens there unless they see that the transition would save them from tapping in to the potentially unstable source of geothermal in to the stable sources of wind and tide flow.
When will we reach it? I'm guessing in anywhere from a few decades to 100+ years. We are getting close.

I'm sure that there's hundreds of millions, if not billions of habitable planets, a few million of which have evolved life, a few thousand of which have evolved advanced civilization, a few hundred of which...even in our galaxy, have evolved radio communication and interplanetary travel
Now, Let's look at the odds of us even talking with them.
Assume we've spent 100 years sending out Radio and TV signals.
So right now, a civilization of aliens, say, up to 100 Light years (LY) away from us just got the signal and translated it to something they comprehend.
Within 100 LY of us is 500 stars. Let's apply the 1 in 10 rule.
Of the 500 1 in 10 have habitable planets. That's 50
of the 50, 1 in 10 are likely to have developed advanced life forms; that's 5.
Of the 5, 1 in 10 have developed radio communications; that's now down to 0.5 star systems; within 100 LY...that are likely to have picked up an old radio or TV broadcast, and translated it.

I was industrious as a kid. I sold seeds (I had made a string to hold a box of seeds around my neck) door-to-door, I asked my dad to make number stencils so I could spray paint them on the curbs for a fee. I also sold American flags and light bulbs!

Then you will literally "stay alive" in the minds of at least one generation.
Truly great ones will live for several generations due to famous speeches, good acting, good books, and/or good works.
