Violence is so hard to justify. I've hit...guilty....but it's been rare...and I'm still associated with the folks I've lost my temper with....my son'e mother, and my step daughter. ...and being hit was among the major reasons that I'm now alone...it's etched in my mind - the incidents where she smacked the glasses off my face....more than once...hard to believe I tolerated it so long. Empathy? Who knows...? But happily, I'm alone, and independent. Good probing, thought provoking question.

I've had to explain why I didn't want to go to craft fairs to sell my shell frames. I've given them as gifts, and kept the nicest ones for myself...and that's about it. I don't want a full time project. I found out it's valuable when i visited the "Shell man" and Shell world stores in the Keys; similarly framed mirrors sell for hundreds. I'm just happy knowing whoever received them knows they have a valuable craft-art creation.

It's interesting that you bring up "living close/not so close to siblings". It's been a major issue for me. I moved out of NY (my "home" state) to Florida in '77. My parents weren't too happy - but tolerated it and visited often...and I visited them. I recall driving with a 3 month old to visit my dying dad in 1980. Now I've moved further away from my son...by only one hour (it's now a 2 hour drive) and he's still "hurt" by the move. He rarely visits. Only 2 times since I've moved up here in 2015. He - and she expect me to drive to see them. He now has a grandson, 3, and is doing far better than I did, financially, as a teacher...I think he's well above $100k income. I never saw that. So - to answer the question - I'm looking forward with mixed feelings to visiting them. He insists it's "too much trouble" to travel on weekends, with a 3 year old. That may be so? I do have a great new car...so maybe I shouldn't complain? Feedback welcome.

I started voting in 63...when Ike was still in power. My mom was Republican, dad was a democrat. I listened to Adlai Stevenson (running against Nixon) and chose Nixon. Not a good idea. Too many in the Senate think like Trump. Impeachment requires a 2/3 senate majority support...just to impeach. Then there's the trial. Clinton was impeached....but never got enough votes to convict in the senate. A. Johnson was impeached...but was allowed to serve out his term Goldwater said it well in '73. In a May 1973 interview with Time magazine's Hays Gorey, Goldwater said, "If it can be proved that he lied, resignation would have to be considered. It would be quick. Everything would be over, ended. It wouldn't drag out like impeachment." We're only 20 months from voting him out of office. This will be a resounding vote. Then Pence can't "forgive" Trump either - and DJT won't be able to go golfing on the taxpayer dime. Clinton (her being an intelligent, agressive woman). -Both of those things "stick in the craw" of the undereducated/#Religulous of America.
