Do you approve capital punishment?
RoboGraham comments on Dec 22, 2019:
The death penalty is hypocritical. Killing is wrong, a perpetrator kills a person, society kills the perpetrator. It's the use of the crime to punish the crime. An eye for an eye is barbaric. We don't sentence rapists to be raped, why kill killers? It's more expensive to execute prisoners than it is to keep them locked up for life. It's not a functional deterrent, states that have the death penalty have higher murder rates. And most importantly of all, the justice system is not perfect, mistakes are made, innocent people get executed.

Trump Becomes the Third US President to Be Impeached: After nearly 12 hours of debate, the US House...
RoboGraham comments on Dec 21, 2019:
As the democrats were in the process of impeaching Trump, they gave him his space force and literally everything else he wanted in his budget. Impeachment is a side show, a distraction meant to give us the impression that they are vigorously resisting him when in actuality, they are bending over for him. How can they vote to expand this president's military budget by tens of billions and provide him with a whole new branch of the military while simultaneously arguing that he has committed high crimes and abuses of power so egregious that he must be removed from office?
A Reminder to the ammosexuals... Slave Owners used to had the same Argument you use today....
RoboGraham comments on Dec 21, 2019:
That was also the same convention where they decided to give the free speech needed to express this opinion. The 2nd Amendment has been reexamined by the Supreme Court and they confirmed it. Sensible regulation is one thing but when you advocate repealing the 2nd Amendment, that's where we split hairs. Also, how does arguing in favor of gun rights have any resemblance to the arguments used by slave owners? Just because the 2nd Amendment was written at the same convention where a compromise on representation was reached doesn't mean they had anything to do with each other. You could say the same thing about any of the other amendments in the Bill of Rights and you'd be just as wrong.
It is not about the laws in the land.
RoboGraham comments on Dec 21, 2019:
Prohibition is not the answer. Ban all guns and only criminals will have them. Ban all guns and you'll get half the country into an uproar. I'm a gun owner in favor of sensible regulation. When you start advocating prohibition, you drive me and many like me away from the cause of gun control.

Even if Bernie Sanders were to pull it off and get elected, it will take massive civil disobedience to actually get his policies enacted. The corporate interests and neoliberals have too much of a stranglehold on power for significant reform to occur without some serious upheaval. Things will have to get worse before they get better.

The minorities are being persecuted by muslims. The bill is meant to help those who are fleeing danger in their homeland. No need to include muslims if they are the ones who are creating the danger. But the dems got parental leave for federal employees out of the deal. What a lopsided trade. A stupidly large amount of money wasted and Trump gets his space force. They are terrible negotiators. I don't understand how they can vote to give the president an even more absurdly enormous military budget to be squandered on creating destruction abroad while simultaneously attempting to impeach that same president because they claim that he has committed abuses of power so egregious that he cannot be trusted to remain in his office. How do you grant a president an entirely new branch of the military while while trying to remove him for high crimes?

If she had done such a thing, it would be all over the media, they are looking for any way possible to damage her. Gabbard's criticism of the democratic establishments warmongering does not make her right wing, it makes her a patriot. Running for president on the platform of peace does not make her a Russian. Clinton's smear calling her a "favorite of the Russians" has only helped her campaign because it is becoming very obvious that the establishment democrats resort to blaming Russia for all of their own flaws. They hate her because she stuck up for Sanders in 2016 and resigned from the DNC. She attracts broad support because of her service to the country and her consistent integrity. RoboGraham comments on Mar 29, 2018:
Yes we love freedom of speech but that does not mean that we are required to listen politely to people we disagree with. People are free to say whatever they wish but if someone is spewing hate I will certainly refuse to listen or even use my own freedom of speech to shut him/her down. Yes we have an agenda. Our agenda is progress. Many of us are pretty ignorant toward guns because we are not gun enthusiasts but we do typically have some knowledge of statistics. We know that keeping a gun in the home increases the likelihood of being killed by said gun. We know that more guns mean more danger of being killed by a gun. Some of us even own guns and do know a thing or two about the specifics. I've got a few shotguns and a muzzleloader for hunting and just for fun. I have no problem with people having these sorts of guns. Its random people having easy access to the military style guns that I take issue with. Yes many liberals can be quite elitist and smug. We tend to be better educated and so we think we know best. But that's no excuse for being intolerant and demeaning to others. This attribute of many liberal minded people pisses me off too. We need to communicate and be friendly with people who think differently rather than put them down. I think you are correct that the partisan divide is really heating up and people are not being civil. This is the fault of both sides but I would certainly say that the blame falls far more heavily on the right. I remember the disgraceful way that conservatives treated President Obama and I don't think our smugness and elitism can compare with the hate that the right wing spews toward immigrants, homosexuals, socialists, and anyone who is not a "real American".
