Born in Bombay (Mumbai) just after WW 2, moved back to England with my parents before I was 1 year old. Brought up Christian by my Mother, made a "born again" commitment at age 19, joined a pentecostal church, since then had several "crisis of faith" episodes over the last 50 years or so. This was in part to reading the Bible, not being able to comprehend that "gentle Jesus, meek and mild" was the monstrous god of the Old Testament. Over the last few years I have read and studied much and made some startling discoveries. John Shelby Song is one of my favourite authors along with Dan Baker, Bart Ehrman and Marcus J Borg. I am also seeking out a progressive church in order to meet with like minded people. Failing that, look for a local "Sunday Assembly" which sounds like fun
