I served in the USAF from 1967-73. Did not go to Vietnam. I had all Cold War assignments. Nobody who was there or who had family there wants to say we were defeated. On the battlefield definitely not, but we (the U.S.) failed in our objective; to keep the Communists from taking over South Vietnam and on April 30, 1975 the north did just that.

I visited the McDonald Observatory near Marfa, Texas one summer. You can go to what they call a Star Party after dark around 9:00pm outside. The guide takes you through Constellations, planets, etc. Some of the smaller telescopes are open for viewing. Anyway our guide told of a woman who said the Party should be earlier around 5 or 6 pm so young children could attend.

The things you have given up are not because of age, but the ability to do them. I am in my 70's and yes I don't do things at the same level I once did, but I still do them. I play senior softball. No I can't compete with the younger guys. I play racquetball with my age group. I used to backpack. Now days it is just a 5-6 mile day hike. I'll never do the Hotter Than Hell 100 in Texas again, but I still get out about 3-4 days a week for a 15 mile bike ride. I still read, but if I couldn't there are audio books. As for sex.
