What are your favorite songs even though they may have religious under tones?
ErichZannIII comments on Sep 30, 2017:
One of my favourite songs is The Plagues from Prince of Egypt. I'm not religious, but the song is so powerful, and the entire soundtrack just makes everything feel so much huger in comparison.

Epica -Cry for the moon, Therion- Rise of Sodom and Gomorrah
SonnyMlaPH replies on Oct 1, 2017:
I used to call Cry For The Moon a kinda heavy "clenched fist" song though it's much more than that. Crying out for justice. You're kinda hopeless when you serenade the moon. One of the main reasons why I got disillusioned is because church and gov't elders don't practice what they preach. Certainly the spirit of Sodom and Gomorrah, the Sin City of the biblical lore, has risen thru the mass media "Love thy neighbor's wife and daughter". . . "you're 12 years old sex is legal" - Stevie Wonder.

Pardon, at least half of the world's 6 billion population belong to a religion. Now that's a lot, plenty, many. I agree with your answer "No." that's correct. No, not some, but many, many people need religion as part of their social life because, as I've said to Ms.JLsobel upstairs, people are social animals
Are there some people who need religion?
JLsobel comments on Sep 16, 2017:
Some people benefit from a sense of belonging. Some people might feel lost without instructions on how to live. To each his own.

For me it's the book of job, the idea that God would bet with Satan and cause the death of job's family to prove his point was something i couldn't accept even as a child
SonnyMlaPH replies on Sep 25, 2017:
I think that scene was repeated in the New Testament but this time with Satan tempting Jesus With regards the test for Job, I remember it went something like this: Satan was passing by the Council of the Gods and God asked him, "hey Satan where you going?" Satan replied, "out somewhere looking for someone to snare" God: "I want to know the loyalty of my servant, Job, will you test him for me?" Satan: "I surely will !" God: "But don't kill him. Just test his loyalty to me up to his breaking point" . . . and so Satan moved along with a devilish grin on his face while groping in his pockets trying to find his gps and wikimapia First time I heard of this story my reaction was, "whoah! a council of gods? God and Satan conspiring? if They could do that to one man, they could also conspire to do whatever they want to all humanity "
