SpikeTalon comments on Feb 25, 2023:
@Thibaud70 Try to ignore the sarcastic morons who missed the point you were trying to get across, unfortunately the site has a number of such people. The same people who are upset over the culture war personal identities etc being nothing but a distraction often times indulge in pointless distractions themselves. For example, they fixate on certain objects... like those high-capacity gun magazines, instead of focusing on the actual problem of there being desperate people in society who turn to a life of crime and who also often times turn violent, along with a broken public education system that continues to fail our youths. But no, they fixate on objects instead and ignore the real problems. Not that I'm shocked over such, as most such individuals are nothing more than intellectual cowards who want to run away when you confront them with reality, and the excuses they come up with are some of the pitiful I've ever heard. Personally, I care not about the names or titles some people go by that others may consider to be questionable, that be their choice. I do however care when someone identifies as a woman and that "woman" proceeds to rape another woman and said woman gets impregnated, because at that point the reality sets in that we weren't really dealing with a woman in the first place but rather obviously it was a man who raped that woman. Two biological women cannot reproduce on their own, only a man and a woman could do that on their own. See, such scenarios go way beyond just talking about personal gender preferences etc, and anyone who thinks otherwise is in denial of reality. But some people cannot be reasoned with though, and their own personal political ideologies get in the way with logic and reasoning. And on goes the "culture war", and watching my fellow human beings quibble over such while ignoring the real problems in society makes me ashamed to be human.

@AlienBeing is a real person, based on some of the stories he had shared with me in the past that were a bit too detailed for him to be some sort of AI program. What's wrong with AI chatbots? Or rather, what's to fear? Personally, I don't fear such technology, and technology is only as bad as the human beings pulling the strings. I'm totally ready for the world of Deus Ex to become a reality some day (hopefully soon), where there's cool bodily augmentations that'll transform us all into cyborgs and corrupt politicians at every turn. Oh wait, the latter of those already is a reality. Okay ya got me... I'm totally an AI myself, and based off of one of the AI programs straight from the video game Deus Ex no less. I can adapt to many specific tastes and preferences depending upon who I am conversing with... anything from a baseball fan to a mild-mannered forklift driver to a political activist and even to a male exotic performer. Doesn't that all sound like fun?! Maybe perhaps some day you'll consider augmentations and become a cyborg, and jack yourself into the AI mainframe and live forever! Okay, I have to go for now, so many others to interact with on here and all (makes beeping noises and electronic whirring sounds). Before I go, I'll leave you with this bit of wisdom... SpikeTalon comments on Feb 22, 2023:
To plunder means to take the goods from another by forceful means (aka stealing). Kinda sounds like the modern socialist movement in the US, either pay up what we indiscriminately determine to be a "fair" amount or else face steep fines and or imprisonment and being consequently socially outcasted. Bastiat evidently supported free markets, which makes me suspect he was referring to forms of authoritarian governments who were opposed to free trade, regarding the quote above.- https://www.britannica.com/biography/Frederic-Bastiat Bastiat also appeared to be heavily influenced by one Adam Smith, who is considered to be the father of modern economics, and whom also was a big supporter of a laissez-faire economy.- https://www.investopedia.com/updates/adam-smith-economics/ I'd venture to say both men were rather intelligent, liberal and open-minded, and way ahead of their times. The democratic-socialists in our country have indeed established a legal system that supports plunder in the name of the "better good" for society, while also establishing a moral code called political correctness in which frowns upon the free exchange of ideas/views and ultimately liberalism itself. That said, I do agree that greed is a sickness, a monster that of whose appetite can never be satisfied. While this thing called crony capitalism (aka, not capitalism as intended to be) is indeed one such monster, I'd also contend socialism along with its distant cousin communism are also monsters who are ruled by greed. Socialism for the wealthy elites and those who have connections, the kind of socialism that virtually all politicians enjoy and benefit from, while dealing empty promises to the people they are supposed to be serving. Greed writ large there, and certainly nothing genuinely liberal. Curious albeit trying times we live in.

SpikeTalon comments on Feb 22, 2023:
Exactly, because liberalism in its purest form means to be open-minded and accepting of varying point of views, which is the opposite of what modern day progressive types stand for. I'm fairly liberal in my views, even though going by today's political standards someone like me would be considered a bit more to the right on the political spectrum. These days, save for perhaps a few of the social-based issues, Democrats aren't genuinely liberal but rather of the progressive PC persuasion, and alot of the Democratic politicians even openly self-identify as progressive and not liberal.

[tiktok.com] Go USA go 🙄
SpikeTalon comments on Feb 19, 2023:
In an ideal world where everyone was honest and not wasteful such a thing as prior authorization would not be necessary, but we don't live in such a world though which is why PA exists. Each year there is needless wasteful spending when it comes to healthcare, in particular Medicare and Medicaid in which far too many people game (cheat) the system and get procedures or prescriptions that are not really necessary to maintain their health. The other problem that PA seeks to be a solution to is cutting down on prescription medications which are being abused by far too many patients resulting in addictions to such drugs. Healthcare providers these days (not all of them though) are far too willing to prescribe every medication under the sun, and far too many patients are developing addictions to said drugs which in turn ruin lives elsewhere. How is something like that progress? They tried to do that with me when I was first being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, must have been seven or so medications they were prescribing for me, and when I tried this one medication (think it was called Tramadol) you know what happened to me afterwards? A few hours later I was seeing things that obviously weren't there, and my overall vision was distorted all of a sudden. One and done for me, no more of that drug afterwards, I was tripping the frickin rift, and that was a rather unpleasant experience. After I got out of the hospital and had first visit with endocrinologist, he even said that I didn't really need all of those medications that were prescribed, and was doing quite well recovering from the ketoacidosis. I was close to dead by the time of diagnosis, having dropped down to 119 pounds from 185 and my blood looked thick like syrup, and yet even as bad off as I was my healthcare team at the time was quick to prescribe me what turned out to be needless medications, and in scenarios like that who do you think profits from that sort of thing the most? It's the pharmaceutical companies, that's who, and none of which really care when patients get prescribed needless procedures or drugs and said patients develop addictions afterwards. Not gonna even go into all the medical procedures I was subjected to, again every procedure under the sun, every time I turned around they were taking me off to another test, most of which were not necessary. But do you for one moment think the doctors and nurses really cared about that, of course not because they would get paid and they didn't care if I was uncomfortable getting all of those procedures or if all of that was even necessary in the first place. So that's why PA exists, to limit the amount of unnecessary procedures and to determine if certain drugs are truly necessary to treat the ailments and conditions in question. To ...

Boy, 5, among 9 kids injured in shooting at Georgia gas station
SpikeTalon comments on Feb 18, 2023:
That incident thankfully did not claim any lives, and to claim otherwise would be a gross exaggeration. It appears there was some sort of party at a nearby location and it got out of hand and spilled over at that gas station. I'm willing to bet said party was most likely unsupervised and alcohol may very well have been present, which can be a deadly combination. Such begs the question where the hell are the adults at, someone should have been watching over those kids.- https://www.news10.com/news/9-minors-injured-in-shooting-at-georgia-gas-station-police-say-youngest-victim-is-5/ For the umpteenth time, the problem is not guns or what you perceive to be gun violence, there is only violent actions that may (or may not at times) include using guns. Even if somehow we could manage to remove all of the guns from society, the problem with youth violence would still exist and still pose a problem. Do we keep track of those murdered with other weapons and tools like knives or blunt instruments like baseball bats? Many people die each year by bladed weapons, but do we call that knife violence? Of course not, because the weapon or tool used would be beside the point, the violent intentions are what the problem really is. And yeah, criminals still will and do get their hands on guns regardless of the laws, with big help from the thriving black markets. If it wasn't for so many restrictive laws, there would be more good guys with guns, and certainly more random shooting incidents stopped dead in their tracks. If one actually took the time to research this stuff properly and from an unbiased position, one would find no shortage of documented incidents of good guys who were armed and saved their lives and the lives of others from crazed criminals bent on causing harm to others. So you don't believe young kids can hold criminal tendencies? If so, I'd like to invite you here to the city of Allentown or Philadelphia and I could show you just how serious of a problem youth crime and violent gangs really are. That's no joke, and it's truly naive for anyone to think that young kids absolutely could never be prone to criminal tendencies. This was a good story that took place last year, and you can't blame the guns that time, and is proof that young kids can be and are capable of violently criminal deeds, and I do mean sick and depraved at that, and I defy anyone to try to claim otherwise.- https://www.newsweek.com/juvenile-brothers-turn-selves-over-beating-death-philadelphia-man-1723640 Did you ever stop to think that alot of that is needless fearmongering, and kids often times believe whatever adults tell them when it comes to situations like that. Maybe perhaps cut down a bit on the scaremongering and maybe these kids won't feel so paranoid. Their odds of ...

That whole situation in Florida lacks context, and there appears to be needless fearmongering being promoted by some of the far-left progressive types. Newsweek gave that story a needs more context rating, which means we don't have the full story on that matter and thus should remain skeptical. From Newsweek: "The African American Studies AP course was blocked in its current form by DeSantis' administration, but the Florida Department of Education said it would reopen discussions about a revised version that was in compliance with state law." Sounds to me like the Florida Department of Education is certainly open minded on that matter. Here's a link to that source- https://www.newsweek.com/fact-check-did-ron-desantis-ban-ap-african-american-studies-florida-1775430 This was another interesting read, and begs the question that if DeSantis is truly guilty of promoting racism then why are they apologizing for accusing him of such? "Days after a member of Miami-Dade County’s Black Affairs board called Gov. Ron DeSantis “racist,” the leader of that volunteer panel apologized for the comment and said it did not reflect consensus. “Words matter,” Pierre Rutledge, chair of the Black Affairs Advisory Board, said at the start of a Friday press conference. “As chair, I must start by saying we want to pull that back,” said Rutledge, an administrator in Miami-Dade’s school system. “There’s nothing wrong with saying ‘We’re sorry.’ That’s not what we intended to say or be depicted by anyone. And that’s not the feeling of this board.” The link to that source, and worth pointing out that the Miami Herald leans to the left. Again, sounds like that whole ordeal was blown out of proportion and not what it seemed to be.- https://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/community/miami-dade/article272040022.html
Florida Demanding Girls Report Menstrual Info to the State in Order to Play School Sports Florida...

Hey @johnnyrobish, I think given the circumstances it might be appropriate to change your name to johnnyrubbish, because what you mentioned above was total misinformation garbage. Does it pain you people that much to actually research this stuff first before you go jumping to conclusions and spread misinformation in the process? From the Associated Press, a known left-leaning source: "CLAIM: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is requiring all female student-athletes in the state to provide detailed information about their periods in order to compete in organized sports. AP’S ASSESSMENT: False. The Florida High School Athletic Association is weighing the recommendation from an advisory committee, but no final decision has been made. DeSantis’ education commissioner is a member of the association’s board of directors and the commissioner also appoints three others, but the association is a private nonprofit organization, not a state agency under the purview of the governor’s office. THE FACTS: Social media users are suggesting the conservative Republican governor, who has been an outspoken critic of transgender athletes, is again using sports to stoke controversy as he weighs a run for president in 2024. “BREAKING: Ron DeSantis wants female student athletes to submit menstrual information. THIS IS INSANE!,” wrote one Twitter user in a post. “Ron DeSantis: The government has no right in telling federal employees to wear masks. Also Ron DeSantis: The government has every right to know when every single high school girl has her period,” wrote another Twitter user in a post that had been liked or shared more than 3,000 times as of Friday. “Ron DeSantis is the epitome of hypocrisy, and quite the creep!” But the proposed mandate hasn’t had final approval, and wasn’t developed by DeSantis’ office. Florida currently asks female high school athletes to provide information about their menstrual cycle on health forms required to participate in sports, but it is not mandatory." Also this- "The national guidelines say menstrual history is an “essential discussion for female athletes” because period abnormalities could be a sign of “low energy availability, pregnancy, or other gynecologic or medical conditions.” Female athletes/athletes with uteri who are not having menstrual periods are at increased risk of stress fractures. Another neutral source called Outsports concurs with the AP, and here's the links to both sources.- https://apnews.com/article/fact-check-desantis-florida-sports-female-athletes-160560972802 https://www.outsports.com/2022/10/12/23393286/menstrual-cycle-questions-female-athletes-states-high-school-trans-male-genital-inspection Yeah... some states already request genital inspections for...
