That's the best way to go, just simply shrug it off. Some things aren't meant to be, and chances are at least 50/50 you will eventually cross paths with someone who connects with you. There is at least one time in the past I can easily recall where a friend of a friend took interest in me, and when she came right out and shared her feelings with me, I told her politely that I was getting to know this other woman better and was going to ask her out, and she proceeded to get very upset with my rejection. Although I could be wrong about this, I had suspected race had something to do with the anger, as the woman who was interested in me was caucasian and the woman I liked was Asian. After that, I made sure to avoid contact with her.

Have some mixed feelings on the matter, but generally would say yes I support such. If someone breaks into your residence and especially at night, chances are they mean you no good. People should feel safe in their homes, and should not have to worry about facing legal trouble should the need arise to use force to protect oneself and one's property. Could there be potential abuses, such as someone using force when it might not really be warranted? I'd guess so, but still think the pros outweigh potential cons. Self defense, assuming it is indeed unavoidable, is instinctual.

I don't deny there are police officers out there in league with the MAGA crowds, but it's hardly fair to claim all police are involved in some sort of conspiracy like that, at least it appeared to me you were doing that but I may be wrong. Also, let's not forget how the police forces were able to get the power they have today all thanks to the rather powerful police unions, and while there is Republican support of police, unions of that sort are supported more by the left than the right. I've long contended police forces these days have been allowed to become too militarized, but said police forces get plenty of support from the political left too, not just from the right.
