Interesting idea, but it could backfire on you though. Some scammers are truly dimwitted, while others are more clever. These days it's all too easy to create burner phone numbers and email addresses, you may think you have someone on the hook, but they may very well be double playing you. Your choice though, personally speaking I block known scammers and do not communicate with them at all. Another idea would be to report such individuals to the federal authorities. Like I said though, your choice in the end.

What natural right of authority does anyone have to tell someone else what to do, own, use... etc.?
SpikeTalon comments on Feb 8, 2019:
The answer is simple, as long as you are not bothering or planning to harm someone, no one has any damn authority to tell you what you can and cannot own. Those with the "regulation complex" should worry more about their own personal affairs. Sit With Elders Of The Gentle Race My grandmother was the person I'd go to to talk about ...
SpikeTalon comments on Feb 6, 2019:
First of all, my condolences on the loss of your grandmother, she sounded like a reliable and kind person. I was sixteen when my last grandparent died back in October 2000, and you are just a few years older than myself. With each passing day we acquire bits of wisdom and experience, at least I'd like to think so anyway. I'm a traveler of both time and space, to be where I have been. What have I learned? Oh, many things over the years. Perhaps one of the most important things I've learned is that people will be people and for the most part you cannot change the way they are, so it's best to either accept the situation or quietly move on. Another thing that's important is to always just be yourself regardless of what others may think about you. I know, sounds rather simplistic, right? Yet, based on my observations over the years I've witnessed many bright and other wise clear thinking minds fall in with the crowd and go along to get along. I never bought into that sort of thing, and at times paid quite a price for choosing to go my own way in life, but all in all the choices I've made have been quite gratifying. As the saying goes, you gotta stick to your guns. The best way to handle difficulty? I think that varies from individual to individual. Meditating (or simply deeper thinking) combined with laughter helps get me by the rough times. Reading books also helps take my mind off of things, at least for a little while anyway. The key there though is to never give up when times get rough, keep fighting on. Where have I found happiness? In one word, memories. No one can take away the pleasant memories I have of my youth, and even at the darkest of times good memories can help get you through. I think of my father often who had passed away in 2006 at age 63 from a sudden heart attack, and a good portion of the knowledge I have today came from him. Hope that answered your question(s). Future happiness depends on all of us, each individual plays a part in life. There is no shortage of "ists" "isms" and "ives" in this world, and I can't help think that's a part of what keeps us divided as a species, that urge to identify with something. That however is a whole other topic for another time perhaps...
Is it me?
SpikeTalon comments on Feb 6, 2019:
Regarding the disagreeing in this group Jon, I have a feeling most disagreements you may have in this group are usually the social-based issues and over the President, which is perfectly fine as I've yet to witness any given two individuals agree on every single thing. Look at it this way, for every point we may disagree on, there is a point we do agree on. With that said, I certainly won't flip out on you if and when we do disagree (and I know you won't to me), and that goes for a good majority of those in this group. That's more that what I can say for some of the left-leaning groups on this site who have a tendency to hurl insults at you simply for disagreeing with them, and that's why I like this group.
Is it me?

SpikeTalon comments on Feb 3, 2019:
@kenriley Thought I'd tag you in this post as I shared some of my political background here. I come from a long line of Democrats and grew up with their beliefs, and shortly after the events on 9/11 I started to question things more. This is an old post from May of last year, there was a typing glitch back then that automatically removed certain words from posts, sorry about that. It was also around that time (April-May 2018) that there was some serious tension between this group and the gun control group, trolling between the two groups was common. I arrived on this site April 1 and about two weeks later joined this group. When it was determined by SiteSupport that the original host for this group bailed on this site, I tookover the host role and that ties into the other post I had tagged you in that explained why I had blocked so many. Anyway, this post explains some more about myself and what led me to some of the views I hold today.
Please crawl back into your hole .

Why are conservative atheist group posts showing up in my feed again.
SpikeTalon comments on Feb 2, 2019:
Probably a glitch when it comes to sharing group posts. I see posts from the progressive liberal groups I hid almost on a daily basis, I just ignore it. Admin should make it again where only group hosts could share group posts, and that would probably cut down on seeing so many posts from groups you have hidden.
I have always said that all Muslims are dangerous if they are given the opportunity, something close ...
SpikeTalon comments on Feb 2, 2019:
For those who may come across this post who are not members of this group, the point of this post was to point out that a good portion of those on the political left these days are too easy on the religion of Islam. Most of us on this site already are well aware of christianity's violent past, but that still doesn't remove the fact Islam in the present day is the most violent and intolerant religion, and anyone who brings up christianity's past is missing the point of this post. Predictably enough a few far left knuckleheads showed up to put their two cents in, and I personally find it reprehensible anyone who could just conveniently make an excuse to defend Islam. There's no shortage of christian bashing on this site, which is all good, and there should be no exception when it comes to Islam. If you join this group just to leave a dumb remark on this post, I won't hesitate to ban, as this group is not for debating. The left-leaning groups on this site spew lies just like they accuse the right of doing, yet you don't see me join those groups just to troll or argue with them, I find it best to ignore folks like that.

SpikeTalon comments on Feb 1, 2019:
Get to the root of the problem... why are so many Americans depressed/mentally disturbed? The first two you listed along with background checks are all too easy to get around, insurance wouldn't be good enough, training is a good idea though. With that said, no training course should ever be required first before a purchase.
