@Marine Very simple, because the far right is as bad as the far left, the two party monopoly has got to go as they both violate the US Constitution. The ACA healthcare mandate pushed forward by Obama was unconstitutional, no one should be forced to pay for a service they may not have an interest in. You don't seem to hear about this much, but these days alot of Democrats are also highly religious and think the national day of prayer is a wonderful thing. Anyone who attempts to inject theocracy in our politics is dead wrong. What you described above is one of the reasons why I don't respect the GOP and will not register to vote with them. If memory serves correct, I had listed a few things the Democrats do/favor that is unconstitutional as well. I can't stress this enough, both major political parties do their fair share of wrongdoing.

The mainstream medias have and continue to lie on certain topics, their accusation that the WalkAway movement is Russian bots is a baseless claim, obviously the people from that movement are American and not Russian, but that's a whole other story. Just because a couple billion people (no way to determine the exact number by the way) support gun control measures in their country as opposed to the millions you claim (I included) who are against it, does not make masses of people correct. Look at religion, look at all the followers of christianity and islam, a couple billion followers between the two, and yet guys like you and I can plainly see how wrong folks like that are in their "faith", the masses can be incorrect at times. Gun control measures by and large are a joke as criminals will never obey the laws, the only ones affected are law abiding gun owners. Society as a whole needs to wake up and realize that much.

Most politicians these days really shouldn't be on social media much, don't think it helps their cause alot, although these days it's hard to avoid totally, so I can understand that much. Nothing wrong with that, I thought about getting into politics myself, but find that my involvement online in advocacy groups has made more of an impact. I just started another gun rights advocacy group on Aug 8 (my birthday no less) on another site I've been active on, making that the fourth one I've created on four different sites. When I was no longer active on certain sites, I handed groups over to others I trusted, so I know what it's like to pass the group host role onto someone else. I'm happy though, I currently have that new group and this one here, and membership is picking up alot faster than on this site. I don't bother with YouTube much anymore, their platform is a little too restrictive, but good luck on that if that be the path you choose.

Nothing wrong with that, I thought about getting into politics myself, but find that my involvement online in advocacy groups has made more of an impact. I just started another gun rights advocacy group on Aug 8 (my birthday no less) on another site I've been active on, making that the fourth one I've created on four different sites. When I was no longer active on certain sites, I handed groups over to others I trusted, so I know what it's like to pass the group host role onto someone else. I'm happy though, I currently have that new group and this one here, and membership is picking up alot faster than on this site. I don't bother with YouTube much anymore, their platform is a little too restrictive, but good luck on that if that be the path you choose.

The other is constitutionally protected and not only that but there is also this thing called due process which is also a fundamental right, and someone doesn't lose their right(s) because of another's fears/suspicions. No one should have to prove anything to you or anyone else, if you are the one making the claim then you must prove your case with hard evidence or else no one has a reasonable obligation to take you seriously. The same is applied to religious claims there.

Timothy McVeigh took out a whole building with a vehicle loaded with explosives if I'm not mistaken, that did more damage than any AR-15 could ever do. What do I have to do in order to calm your paranoia down Mike? Hold your hand while stating reassuring words in a calm tone? You're a grown man Mike, if the paranoia is that bad you may have to see a specialist over that, as I and the others here can only help so much while on here. The part with the needs of the many sounds like communism to me, the founder's put value on individual liberty, and I believe it was Ben Franklin who stated those who are willing to trade privacy for some security deserve neither, something to that extent anyway. I only have a problem when some question or criticize my own personal decisions and especially when I am not bothering anyone else. In our country everyone is innocent until proven guilty and there should be no exception when it comes to due process. I understand there are some places that will be gun free zones, and I avoid them whenever I can. That's what we need to discuss maybe, how to make gun free zones etc safer. I've experimented with a few other sites before settling on this one, and was censored often for my views, and it got so bad that I left those sites. Tricky situation indeed. I thought about breaking off all contact, but that's easier said than done as my father is long deceased and I have no siblings, so aside from me she doesn't really have anyone else close by who she could rely on for help and she dealt with some minor health-related issues recently. That's where this site comes in, which I find has been a big help in getting me by the rough days, knowing that I'm not alone and there are plenty of others out there who could relate.

Removing guns from the scene would not solve the problem, because bad guys/criminals will have them still as they don't obey the laws. Not every legal gun owner is a novice as you presumed above, quite a few of us have training/background in proper firearm handling. Hell, once upon a time I got an offer to join the Allentown Police Department because they were impressed with my resume. There have already been documented cases of good guys with guns stopping criminals out in public, so the good there outweighs the negative. The city of Chicago has some of the toughest gun control measures in place, and yet that city is one of the most violent. I have tried to do just that, but unfortunately my mother is about the worse type of believer out there, she will not even consider listening to any views that could contradict hers. In that sense, I was not very lucky to be born to someone who is that rigid in their beliefs. I often change the subject when religion gets mentioned. Also, after awhile I'm sure Trump gets fed up with all the insults that get hurled his way since day one in the WH. The man speaks his mind regardless if others like what he says or not, because that's how free speech works, and of course those who are overly sensitive lose their minds over such. The part I find ironic is those who were hoping for Hillary to win conveniently forgot the comment she once made in regards to nearly half of the US population...all Trump voters are a basket of deplorables. Our very culture has become toxic, and when you throw poor parenting a lack of education and medications into the equation, negative results are bound to occur. We have a people problem. While I may have shaken my head in dismay over the school shootings, I never wept over them. I'm glad to hear you defend the 2A, as that is a safeguard against potential tyranny. Diehard 2A defender here, and I started a pro gun rights group on here to counter the gun control one and are thinking about starting a group on another site I'm active on. Regarding the liberal/conservative politics, please keep in mind that not all of those who identify as a conservative are attached to a political party. I identify as conservative, but do not associate with any political party, at the present moment anyway. You and I have quite a bit in common Glyndon, as we both believe in individual liberty.

That "progressive" mentality hasn't taken over yet, and I hope it never does. More parents should opt to homeschool, and in the meantime the public school system needs a total overhaul. Or perhaps maybe we need to get rid of it altogether, why does the government have to be involved in education anyway? Then again, that might just be me as I'd like to see more entities like the public education system be privatized. Many factors to take into consideration when thinking about the problematic issues plaguing society, and you named most of them.
