The creep accusing me misunderstood my comment and is making a big deal over nothing. The lefties on here crack me up, I'm waiting for this site to turn into conspiracy central now, some folks take things to the extreme.

@mosuper That they are. I think Libertarians are not against going to war just so long as it is for justifiable reasons. While I do lean heavily to the right politically speaking, I'm registered Independent. Those were some of the main differences between the two parties, and obviously there is far less corruption in the LP than the GOP. If you wanted to learn more about the LP, check out this site- https://thelibertarianrepublic.com/ You could also ask this fellow community member here about the LP @SkotlandSkye , she is a registered Libertarian and knows more about the LP than I do, or lastly you could head over to the Libertarian Agnostics group on here. ok, sure. But honestly, I really have never heard many people call for the confiscation of all guns. In fact - while I am sure somebody somewhere has - I don't think i have heard anybody seriously suggest this. Is there some breaking story on this that i missed?
SpikeTalon replies on Jul 8, 2018:
I cannot speak for any fellow gun rights advocates, but the direct issue where I'm concerned is not about some wanting an all out ban on private gun ownership, but rather certain gun control measures that have been proposed in which I am not convinced do anything to curb potentially violent thugs. As an atheist I go by evidence and firsthand observation, and the evidence I have seen indicates that most said gun control measures do not and have not worked for the most part.
I'd say it's worth it.

Just spend some time in the gun control now group on this site, you'll cross paths with some of those who desire to abolish all private gun ownership. While the host of that group may not be as radical as some are in said group (he actually is a member of this group and the pro 2A group I host as well), I have observed some questionable albeit radical comments made within that group. You asked about a breaking story you missed? If you get an opportunity to do some research, look up the march for our lives movement, quite a few of their members are radical and have called for an end to private gun ownership. Hope that helped some.

@MikeFlora Regarding the group members, being that close to ninety percent of those on this site lean heavily to the left, it should come as no surprise that there will obviously be more drawn to the liberal progressive groups than any other. The mere fact the CA group has over 90 members is saying something considering conservative atheists appear to be somewhat rare, at least on this site anyway. Group membership on here doesn't concern me much as I've been focusing my advocacy efforts on another site where I have a couple thousand supporters not just a few hundred, and that's not counting the contacts I still have on other sites. I don't, but you may find some in these groups who do- "Conservative Atheists Group" "Pro Gun Rights Group" If you don't come across any hunters, you'll surely find folks who enjoy shooting sports. Take care.

SpikeTalon replies on Jul 4, 2018:
@Marine I get you on the homeless and ill veterans, Marine, and you are right that is a problem. I can also agree with you to an extent that the GOP by and large does not do enough to help our vets, but the same could also be said of the Democratic Party which has its fair share of millionaires just like the other party. In a free society, if someone accumulates wealth there is no law stating they have to spread said wealth around to others, unpleasant I know but that is life and there will always be people like that. Just continue doing what you do and help whenever and wherever you could, sounds to me you're on the right path. I too have helped those in need in the past provided I had spare funds/goods in which to provide assistance.

SpikeTalon replies on Jul 4, 2018:
When you stop and think about it, nothing is for free really, you are paying something somewhere along the line whether it be a fee through seeing ad banners or having your private data sold to other parties. With that in mind is the reason why I tend to shy away from social media platforms and provide minimal background info on myself and go by a pseudonym. On social media, nothing is truly private, everyone of us on this site have and continue to pay some sort of price for using this site, which is why I'm very careful about the topics I post about.
I posted a response question in the comments and no one has the guts to answer it.

Are you or have you ever known anyone to be agnostic/atheist AND pro-life?
Hellbent comments on Jul 3, 2018:
I find it difficult to take seriously any person who uses "pro life" or "pro choice" as self-descriptions. Those expressions are propaganda slogans and are unlikely to be used by anybody who has thought about the issues.
SpikeTalon replies on Jul 3, 2018:
I'm inclined to agree with you on that. I usually use the term reproductive rights advocate to describe my stance, not pro choice because that term is too vague.
Are you or have you ever known anyone to be agnostic/atheist AND pro-life?
SpikeTalon comments on Jul 3, 2018:
I'm a conservative-leaning atheist, and even I support individual reproductive rights/pro choice.
SpikeTalon replies on Jul 3, 2018:
I also support a man's right to a symbolic abortion, meaning if the woman wants to keep the child and the man does not, the man should not have to pay child support. Child rearing is a shared process, and both partners involved need to agree for that to work, and what's fair is fair.
Are you or have you ever known anyone to be agnostic/atheist AND pro-life?
Jlangston70 comments on Jul 3, 2018:

I never liked the term Pro-Life as it's used to mean Anti-Abortion. Obviously I'm Pro Life, life is (relatively) good, I don't want to die or to kill anyone. Go - Live - Be happy. But I'm 100% Pro-Choice!! I don't think anyone should have any say over what someone else can or can't, should or ...

@Kojaksmom I don't think it's as important to be quick to use lethal force as it is simply having the means to defend oneself. There are other weapon alternatives to guns, most of which I'm open to and understand if other people would be interested in other self defense products. Don't know about other states, but my state doesn't ban or regulate alot of things, and fireworks are even legal now. Guns don't solve all problems, but could be a solution in at least some scenarios. I agree with the people part, people are the direct problem, and that's what society needs to work on.
