Long time member of "Alternate Lifestyle" groups in California. Have backed off of that since moving to Idaho. Too many Mormonoids up here, plus other true believers. I belonged to the San Diego Sexual Freedom League, Elysium, and Sandstone when living in California, but those are all gone now.

I'm a college graduate, recent widower, nonsmoker, don't drink much (although I don't have any objection to booze) have a cat, and don't have any drug/disease problems. I'm also a gun nut, so if that bother you, look elsewhere. Being a nudist gun nut put me in a unique position somewhere between nudists and gun nuts. I don't fit in with either group on a philosophical lever. We'll see what happens with this group.

Sadly, the truth:

The democrats have passed a lot of unconstitutional anti gun red flag laws in states they control.

If it wasn't for for the weather, I would be tempted to move to Oklahoma. But I live in Idaho, which is just as good and has better weather. The folks in Oklahoma really have a lot of common sense.
I saw this at my little small town market today.
Spudgun comments on May 22, 2020:
I have no legal objections to open carry. I live in a state where it's legal, and it doesn't bother me. However, do I think it's a good idea? Sometimes, but not always. There are some people who openly carry as a statement, and there are other people who openly carry because they're not smart enough to figure out that they're drawing some unwanted negative attention. I think that concealed carry is generally a much better idea. Also, until we get a national carry license, carrying a gun will change legally from one place to another. And open carry definitely changes from a legal point of view from one state to another. Open carry also tends to make one a target for bad guys, either to steal your gun by force, or if they're going to do something nasty, you're the first one they're going to shoot. You could also be deterring them from doing something. So there are two sides to the coin. But I still think that concealed carry is better than open carry in most cases.

I have a question for anyone who would like to comment :) Do you think mandatory gun safety ...
Spudgun comments on May 22, 2020:
This is a very difficult question to answer. On one hand, being a Firearms Instructor for 37 years, I am all in favor of folks learning basic gun safety. But on the other hand, making them do it bothers me. Somehow mandatory safety classes strike me a more gun control, which i am against. But I do think that there should be some education for the general public, because there are a lot of uneducated people who are against firearms ownership simply because they have been fed a bunch of lies by the anti gun folks. And they believe things about gun that simply aren't true. So what's the answer? I think that the people here who have suggested firearms safety classes in high schools would be the best place to start.

Was that the can opener????
Spudgun comments on May 15, 2020:
It's more than just can openers. My cat absolutely loves Babybel miniature cheeses, both Gouda and White Cheddar. He can be completely sound asleep, but if I start to unwrap one of the cheeses, he can hear the tiny sound the cheese wrapping makes when you're opening it, and will come running. Since I got him, I have never had a complete piece of that cheese. I always have to share with the cat.
Pweeeez I can has the malk?

Cats come in all sizes
Spudgun comments on May 15, 2020:
I have said this for years. It first dawned on me at the Oklahoma City Zoo. I was watching a black leopard, and he was playing with some kind of plastic thing just beside his cage. He was doing exactly the same thing that my cat at home would do when he was playing. The only difference between the leopard and my cat was size. They were both hard wired exactly the same.
[youtu.be] Poor old Canadians are being stripped of their gun rights now.
Spudgun comments on May 14, 2020:
The Canadian government is so out of touch with the Canadian people, it's disgusting. And this is a typical reaction by anti-gun idiots when somebody does something illegal. They always come after the people who aren't causing trouble and take more of their rights away.

Spudgun comments on May 14, 2020:
I think Pelosi and company are going to get a rude shock come November. At least I sure hope so. But even in the Obama years, which were some of the worst for gun owners, a very large number of states instituted concealed carry laws. The pro-gun side has been making progress over the years. Cats wearing Satsuma Mandarin hats ring bells - YouTube
Spudgun comments on May 7, 2020:
Crash, the resident cat at Simply Cats in Boise, among his other tricks, will ring a bell. A couple of years ago, Crash was hit by a car, which broke two of his four legs and broke his jaw and wiped out an eye. Just after this happened, the Director of Simply Cats was driving by and stopped. She though Crash was dead and was going to move him off the road, and when she touched him, he moved. So she grabbed him and put him in her car, and took him to a Veterinary Hospital. He eventually did heal up, and is now the resident cat at Simply Cats. He is the only cat there that is not up for adoption. He will be there until he dies. And he knows he's special. He has also learned an incredible amount of tricks that he likes to show off for visitors. I'll go to the Simply Cats website and see if I can't find a picture of Crash to post here.

The elusive yard panther!!!
Spudgun comments on May 4, 2020:
Not the cat so much, but the title reminds me of our now departed Punkin cat. She was feral to begin with, a tortoiseshell, and a VERY good bird hunter. She could literally disappear on a completely bare mowed yard when she was in hunt mode. When she was pregnant, she must have eaten a couple hundred birds. My wife felt bad about that, because she liked birds, so we put the bird feeder up way off the ground, and Punkin would jump about 6 or 8 feet in the air to catch birds.

Hey All! I'm a 42 year old widower.
Spudgun comments on Apr 26, 2020:
We seem to have a lot of interesting coincidences in our lives. My wife's birthday was March 19. She died two years ago to the day. April 26, 2018. We were together for 25 years. You're right, the single world sucks. I was 47 when my wife and I got together, so there are some women out there when you're in your 40's. I'm now 75, and the women who are available all look like my grandmother. Maybe that's a little shallow on my part, but I would like to find a lady I'm attracted to at least a little bit. Also, most of the available women in Boise are 95% religious nuts. And the 5% who aren't religious are Liberals. So I've sort of resigned myself to being single. It would be nice to find a partner to share things with, but i'm not holding my breath.
Guy Creates Images That Show How Earth Would Look If Cats Were A Lot Bigger (30 Pics)
Spudgun comments on Apr 26, 2020:
Have any of you seen the You Tube videos of Messi the Cougar/Puma? Some guy in Russia bought a cougar and keeps it in his house. The cat is incredubly tame, and although he looks just like a wild cougar, he is incredibly tame and acts just like a big house cat. Cuddles with his owner and sleeps on the bed. Take a look at some of the videos. The guy who owns the cougar has posted a bunch of them on You Tube. Look for them under the word "Messi". That's the cat's name, taken from some Russian soccer star.
Interesting

Impulse buy.
Spudgun comments on Apr 19, 2020:
Speaking of impulse buys, I did it the other day. Not about a Taurus G2C, though. I was looking at the J&G Sales website to get some Eley Target .22 LR ammo, and after I ordered that, I looked at the guns they had for sale. Shouldn't have done that. They had some Star BM 9mm single action semi auto pistols for sale for $179.00 (that's not a typo) That's the lowest price I've seen for any gun for several years, and the BM's are actually fairly nice guns. So i bought one, even though I don't really need it. The price was just too good to pass up, and I probably can use it for a class gun when teaching someone how to shoot a semi auto.
Does anybody here have experience with incendiary rounds?
Spudgun comments on Apr 19, 2020:
There are no .22 LR incendiary rounds. There are .22 LR tracers, but that's different. If you want more information on this, try Paul Harrell. He's done a bunch of videos on just about everything people ask questions about. You could also email him.
