@VeronikaAnnJ I had BPB blocked for a long time. For some reason I unblocked him. It appears I will have to again. I know a couple of conservatives that are voting for Biden. I find it hard to believe anyone even with a high double digit IQ can't see what he is doing to this country. Trump is simply evil. He doesn't even hide it.

@VeronikaAnnJ l agree with everything you said. I had one friend who overdosed on heroin and died, although l think she did it on purpose. The hypocrisy of so many conservatives is what l find most intolerable. If you call them on it they just get pissed off and lose all reason, as if most of them have the ability to reason to begin with. I have lost a couple of friends during this whole mess, but that is okay. I don't need that kind of thinking in my life.

@fishline79 I did listen to both of my parents. We grew up in a very racist homophobic town in the 50s and 60s. I said the "N" word once in elementary school in front of my dad. At that age I had no idea what that word was about. That was the last time I used that word. Neither one of my parents were perfect, but they were decent human beings who taught us about fairness and a proper idea of right and wrong, and to stand up and speak out against injustice. I see our father in my brother. I see more of our mother in me. I miss them both all of the time.

It will get much worse if re-elected.

@Allamanda There is no "Western" society influenced more on daily basis in our laws and societal mores by religion than the United States. The first people to settle here were SUPER religious and regardless of what is in the Constitution, it has had little power to stem the tide of overzealous Christians and their leaders. I don't know if you have spent any time in the states and if you have where you have spent that time, but believe me in so much of this country the church has way too much power and influence. As far as I can tell listening to our friends here from Canada, Europe, and Australia, those societies seem to have put religion in proper perspective, not so here. Capitalism itself does not necessarily cause mental issues, but the way we have practiced it here does cause a lot of stress you don't see in countries where it is well regulated. I am not saying it is everything, although at one time I would think it was the main contributor. It seems to be following the urban/rural divide that looms so large in this nation. Just my observations.

@Allamanda It is a major factor in this country, but getting less so all of the time. Most mental illness, not genetic, is probably caused by family issues and those family issues have definitely been heavily influenced by religion in this country proably more than on any other modern society.

It could happen. I looked in my rear view mirror at a light one day and l saw myself in the car behind me. A friend of mine said he saw me at a gym a few days later. I haven't been in a gym since high school. I assume it was the same gentleman.

@PondartIncbendog Nope it was me and then that friend swore he saw me at the gym. I really had a hard time convincing him it wasn't me. I remember seeing a lady in a club in Colorado Springs one night at a gig who was the spitting image of a giladie a dated in Denver. I was sure it was her. I talked to her and she was from Germany. Even up close she could have passed as her identical twin. We all have someone and probably more than one someone who look like us. It was a weird sensation.

I have always been a night person. Even as a kid I wanted to stay up and watch Carson and the late movies. It was one of the reasons which drew me to a career in music. I could sleep in.
