Remember your first concert?
Lorajay comments on Jan 21, 2020:
Harry James at the Southern Club in Lawton Oklahoma. I was 10 and got to sit by the bandstand with my piano teacher. She was only my piano teacher because my parents gave her a front row table for free. Soon afterwards she told my parents to quit wasting their money on piano lessons for me.

I thought Obama was one of the most charismatic people ever. I met Ali and I can say he had charisma coming out every pore. Obviously other people do not feel that way about them at all. I know race has quite a bit to do with both of those examples. I don't think most of trump's hard core followers are going to find a really intelligent person charismatic because they feel somewhat inferior to those people, as most of his followers are uneducated, and feel like they are looked down on by these people whether that is true or not. What they don't get because, because they aren't very bright is trump and his ilk do look down on them where as Obama and the people like him really don't. IMO

Happy Birthday! Our bass player (Jerry Burns) does a show called "Jerry's Kids". They do nothing but "Dead" songs.
Sticks48 replies on Jan 11, 2020:
@Spinliesel I will ask him. They do all Dead songs, but they don't try to copy the Dead. Jerry has a voice reminiscent of Paul Simon. He rotates a lot of different players in and out of the group so it can take on a very different feel depending on the players on any particular evening. One night he did a trio with these two really good players who obviously had at least some background in jazz. It had that kind of feel of the small jazz combos and clubs of my youth, but it was all Dead songs. You might like them. My sister-in-law is a Dead Head and she really likes them.

Sticks48 replies on Jan 10, 2020:
@LiterateHiker No it wasn't. She had as much chance of winning as I would. Even Bernie has said they are useless. These stupid debates is one of the reasons trump became President. He wasn't the smartest, he wasn't the most informed, and he wasn't the most knowledgeable. He just came across better on TV. He never said one thing that made him look qualified for the job.

Sticks48 replies on Jan 10, 2020:
@LiterateHiker I get none of that. They are so over prepared including having that one sound bite to throw in there when they can. I have learned more from 20 to 30 minute interviews on MSNBC than all of the debates put together. I don't care if they are fast on their feet. Presidents, except for don't make fast decisions. They make well thought out decisions. That is what I am looking for, well thought out, intelligent decisions. Of course we are not all looking for the same things in a President.

Only theist religions focus on god/God (whether poly-theist, mono-theist, etc.) The earliest religions were primarily about ceremonializing human burials. And then you move through the ages to more philosophy-type "religions" and blah blah blah, landing with theism. Human beings, before ...

@Niels-Henning I am not angry. I am amused. You guys never ever answer one question. How do you keep thousands or even hundreds of people from letting the cat out of the bag. You have no facts. These buildings were not built like other skyscrapers. It was not built with a steel frame in the middle, typical of buildings built at that time. Fire didn't turn them to dust. Its own weight turned it to "dust". That fire was not a regular fire. It was jet fuel, which burns much hotter than a regular fire. We have been at war with someone for all but 16 years of our existence as a country. What would be the purpose for our doing this. Wars are terrible for the economy. That myth came from the aftermath of WWll when we were the economic power in the world as everyone else was rebuilding their bombed out countries. Read a book. You really don't get how utterly ridiculous you do sound. Please go hide in your bunker and wait for the end.
