We were lucky enough to do a couple of shows with Jerry Jeff in Tulsa and Longmont, Colo. When we started playing in Austin in the 70's he and Waylon Jennings were our inspiration for what were were doing at the time. Jerry Jeff was kind of the heart of the Austin Music scene at that time and will be missed by at least couple of generations of Texans for sure.

I have friends that I'm losing respect for.

My brother and I were lucky enough to play two shows with Jerry Jeff, one in Tulsa and one in Longmont Co. When we started playing music in Austin in 75 he was a huge influence on us at the time. Even though we do my brothers songs, every once in awhile he pulls out "L A Freeway" or "Desperados". Our first gig since the pandemic is coming up on the 8th and he will probably sing one of those in tribute. He will be missed for sure by the older musicians and fans in Texas and Austin in particular.

I remember thinking in Sunday school it was all Jesus loves you and everything is wonderful and then you would go into the big room and it was all about Hell fire and brimstone.
