@Neenz There is nothing in human history except in very small countries or communities that show we will ever get along. There will always need to be governments because human beings are mostly sheep, and the ruthless are more often than not the folks who become the leaders. The systems we have, especially the money thing will probably never go away, and I have never heard one idea to replace it that is remotely viable. If you have one I would like to here it and how it could be implemented. As far as religions go, hopefully in this country we will grow up and put it in proper perspective. As far as the Middle East goes it could take decades for them to change me thinks.

@MichelleGar1 I lived there for nine years in the 90's. I never got tired of the beauty of Northern NM. I really did love it there. It was getting too expensive. The Californification of the area fucked things up. The same thing happened in Boulder. I think it is happening to Austin now. How is the city doing now? El Paso has always had a very special place in my heart. I only lived there for one year when I was in the Army and another year or so after I got out of the Army, but I really did enjoy living there. I have a lot of great memories of El Paso and Juarez.

@AmelieMatisse True. The eyes are everything in portrait painting. They give the painting life. I had a friend years ago who painted all of the singers around the Austin music scene at that time. He did pen and ink portraits and they were very accurate, but the eyes were always missing something, that spark of life. I don't know how to explain it very well.

@AmelieMatisse I thought the eye was amazing. Eyes are one of the hardest things to capture, and to do it on that scale is impressive. I took a year off from playing music in the 90's and worked with my sister's husband who had a sign and mural company with his brother. It was fun.

@Rob1948 There were another 3 million cast for the Libertarian party and others. Saw that one the other day. The Electoral College became obsolete after the first televised debate. Since twice in the last few elections the will of the people was ignored, it needs to go away. It worked in the past, but so did horses and swords. Time to move forward. Why vote for the President if you are in a state where it doesn't count.

I used to see good and bad in both parties, but in the last few years the decent Republicans have been voted out or run out of the party, to the point I don't think there are more than a couple left. It doesn't take a whole lot of bad ones to fuck it up. The Freedom Caucus (Tea Party) stopped the House from passing anything when they Republicans had the House. There were things Boehner would have worked with Obama on, but he knew it would never get past the Tea Party folks. I think that is why he left. The frustration got to be to much. The Senate passed an immigration bill, but it wouldn't get through the House. Most Dems and Repubs wanted an infrastructure bill, but it was the same problem with the Tea Party.
