@gigihein It will be okay if he wins. If the Senate doesn't change it won't matter who the Dems nominate because they will be able to get very little done if McConnell or someone like him is the Majority Leader. Biden does have strong points. Leaders around the world know him and trust him. He does have long relationships with a lot of Senate Republicans and maybe he can get some things done. At this point he probably can get quite a few disenchanted Republicans to vote for him in the general election. I am a progressive, but this is not yet a progressive country. Maybe after my generation (Boomers) passes on, it will lean further in that direction. Personally, l like Warren, but I have no problem with any of the Democrats running and will vote for whoever gets the nod without reservation.

@Seeker3CO When your population is over 75% white and around 10% black it won't show as much. Move a few thousand more black people there and it would start showing big time. l lived in Denver in the early 80's and knew three black people and they were other musicians in one band. The inequities suffered by minorities is everywhere in this country, not just the South. They are just more up front about it.

@Seeker3CO It's higher than that. The others are just not as militant, but they are still very much racist. They might not harm a person of color or use racist remarks, but they could not care less about the inequities in our justice and educational systems, and do nothing to help correct these injustices and in fact run all of these institutions. just because it is not overt doesn't mean it is any less evil. In some ways it is more evil because they have the power to change things.
So.

@Cast1es I didn't say I did, and I didn't say all. If white people were really all that smart or good we would not have trump as our President. In Obama's second election, the majority of white folks, both male and female, voted for Romney. We are in the shape we are in as a country due to the leadership of white people.

My only question is...how did they keep the ‘timing,’ so tight? Delightful music!
Sticks48 replies on Aug 30, 2019:
They are very talented and they really listen to what is going on all around them. Listening may be the most important thing we do in a band. There are bands who are tight because they will play the song exactly the same every night (The Eagles, Toto, Steely Dan). You really don't have to listen as much. That ain't the Neville Brothers. We have room to play with a lot of our songs from night to night, so you really have to pay attention. It is more fun that way.

@redbai I said what would you think would be the perfect government. Everyone would probably have a different answer. I realize it is very, very complicated and if you don't have an answer, that is ok. I just want to know how you would describe the government you think would suit you. I am a social/democracy guy with a well regulated form of capitalism. Those types of governments are all over Europe and have been for awhile. We can study those and pick those things which would work best for our country. Until the world quits running on money, we will always have some form of capitalism.

@misstuffy We have a hearing impaired lady in her 70's who comes in and sings at an open mic our band hosts on Tues nights. She has a small hearing aid in her right ear, but you have to get pretty close for her to hear you. She mostly reads lips. She doesn't hit every note of course, but she is pretty good, and she plays some harmonica. The joy she gets out of this really touches the whole band. This was on her bucket list, and we kept encouraging her to come back, so she comes in every two weeks. She does karaoke on alternate weeks.
