Yes we do. However, this attitude exists in places I have lived. Denver, Austin, and Taos were like that. l am sure it exists in other places. Other than Utah I have found the West has that attitude.

All independent candidates do is put the party in office they really hate, every time. If one did win, they would have a Congress made up of two parties who will not support them because they are not one of their own. It might work someday, but not now.

@William_Mary Obama did do the grassroots route and won. Bernie didn't. I like Bernie, but if he can't get the black vote he can't win. That is fact. A third party candidate has only gotten into double digits (barely) in a national election once, and that was Perot. An independent cannot win. If Bernie thought he could win as an independent he would run as an independent. He is a registered independent. He knows he can't win as an independent. This is not assumption, this is fact. This is about getting rid of Trump period. The silly infighting that goes on in the Democratic party is like high school. They had better get over it or we will have four more years of Trump.

@William_Mary Disagree if you want, facts are facts. I haven't caved to anything. Bernie lost because he could not get the black vote that is fact. Bernie is not attracting black voters this time either. That is fact. If you don't win the black vote you don't win in the primaries and certainly not in a general election. Another fact. Obama did the grass roots thing before Bernie. Keep up that line of thinking and enjoy four more years of Trump. I will vote for the Democrat no matter who it is. I always have and always will.

@Neenz Cool. Our band hosts an open mic every Tuesday. Folks can play by themselves or have us play with them. Some people don't play, but are good singers and this gives them an opportunity to sing with a band. It is a lot of fun. What does your daughter like to sing?

@LucyLoohoo I was 32. My sister was 12. It messed her up for most of her life. She worshiped our dad. She never had a good relationship with her mother (my stepmother). My father was in the Navy, I was born at Balboa Hospital in San Diego. He joined at the start of WWll. He got out after I was born because he was a boatswain's mate, and was always going to be at sea, so he got out. He loved the Navy. He took up flying in his 40's. I am so sorry you didn't get to know your father better. I hope that didn't mess with you too much.

@OldGoat43 He's not my favorite anyway. Warren and Harris have impressed me the most. A self professed Socialist is not going to get the nomination. Too many baby boomers grew up under the communist scare, and whether it is a rational fear, it is still there, and he can't get the black vote. Without black women, you can't get the nomination. He lost to Hillary because he could not reach the black voter and that hasn't changed. I have no hesitation about voting for any of the candidates. Biden is known, flaws and all. After Trump, that might be what the country wants. No surprises.

Waylon and Kris? My brother met Kris and talked to him for awhile at Willie's first picnic. I met Waylon backstage at one of his shows. We were scheduled to do a show with Waylon at Red Rocks outside of Denver, but he canceled a tour due to reasons of health. We were extremely disappointed. I saw him five or six times. When he died I was very sad.
