@Sheannutt I think l was 16. My stepfather who was a very good jazz trumpeter suggested it after he saw me tapping to the music in the car all of the time. I didn't get serious until I was 25 when I started doing it for a living.

That is not the problem for me. Hell, I talk to people on elevators. I don't like it because these are not natural conversations. Questions don't get answered. You might be giving a long response and they are asking another question when you haven't answered the first question. Sometimes you don't get a response for days. That ain't the way conversations work. IT SUCKS, PERIOD. I will do it because that is what we have, but only a few times and then I am out.

@CaroleKay HAHAHA! I worked with guy named Don when I got out of high school who stuttered. You wanted to finish the words for him so you can keep the conversation moving, but you know you can't. One of the guys would say, "You heard me I didn't stutter", whenever you didn't catch what he said.
