I wish no men had to face that situation. I was in the Army and I wouldn't wish that on anyone who didn't want to be there, which I didn't. I hated every fucking minute of it. That was some of the most moronic crap I have ever endured. It has to be worse now that it is all volunteer army. Women face a stressful situation walking through a dark parking lot, something I would not hesitate to do. That is just one example. I am sure the ladies here could give you a long list of stressful situations we do not deal with just based on gender.

They would have to be made very harsh, say 3 to 5 years in jail no parole for possession of an illegal gun, maybe more. Any crime committed with a gun would really have to be tough. Most people would do the buy back and most of the ones keeping them in defiance will have those buried so deep in their house no one would ever see it. It would take time but you could cut way down on a lot of the gun ownership and violence. IMO

I am a progressive in ideas, but not in their whiny my way or the highway bullshit. They are no different than the far right in that way. This country is very centrist, and it is very important the Dems realize this. We have had two Democrat Presidents since Carter, and both tacked toward the middle. A democracy will only work with compromise. We have watched democracy failing in this country for almost three decades as the republicans refuse to compromise on anything including money for infrastructure and health care, both of which they know we desperately need.

I have done it twice. The first time her new boyfriend did not like the fact we were friends even though we had not been together in four years. That was in the 80's and we haven't spoken since. The friendship in the second case is an ongoing friendship. She is the best female friendship I have ever had. Some of it may depend on how much of a friendship you really had when you were together and how it ended. It is definitely rare I would think.

Christians are a very easily threatened when it comes to their beliefs, because their beliefs are very fragile. Christians really only celebrate or honor Jesus at Christmas and Easter, his birth and his death. They pretty much ignore what he said and what he did in between those two events. Except for Catholics, they spend the rest of the year expounding the Old Testament, a Jewish book. They are a fucked up bunch for sure.

It is the same with the high desert (7000 feet) of Northern New Mexico. I have been over most of the country including Arizona and I have never seen so many fantastic sunsets and double rainbows. I would see more double rainbows there in any given year than all of the rainbows I have seen the rest of my life all totaled together. I was there nine years. It was a visually spectacular experience. With a mixture of the mountains and high desert together.
