It is not very musical music. If you can't hum the melody and the song be recognizable, or play or hum a hook line, and it be recognizable, it isn't very musical. Music and art form, yes. Musically interesting, no.

@tryingcake l live in the land of way too many musicians ( the Austin area ), and you can tell by how many people play certain instruments, and how many bands incorporate those instruments in tbeir bands. There are communities here which were founded by Germans back in the day, and you will find polka bands and plenty of accordions. It is alco used in alot of Tex-Mex and the few cajun bands in this part of the world.

@tryingcake Because l am a musician is why l don't like them. I am very conscious of tonal quality. I do like the accordion the way the French use it. The banjo can work for me on certain songs, but since bluegrass is one of three types of music, the other two are opera and rap, that just don't do anything for me, l have little use for the banjo. Bagpipes just sound like a tire with a leak. Having said that l don't judge what kind of music other folks like. Whatever moves you moves you.
