IMO too many ppl hit the panic button. draconian measures like closing parks, golf courses, pubs & restaurants was unnecessary & causing a lot of financial harm. i would much prefer the Swedish model.
Surfpirate replies on Apr 11, 2020:
I love the Swedish model but we are Canadians and not Swedes, far too many people wandering around together for no good reason, they wish that they had Trump as their PM. Maybe one day when we have fewer idiots in our country but until then this is the best solution and it only started working when we made it mandatory and brought out the stick of fines and jail sentences. I have to wonder how many of those who have already died and those who will die in the coming weeks are victims of this ignorant behavior.

@itsmedammit https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-52151722 Now they are backpedaling the story but the intention is clearly there and there have been similar reports of the Gates Foundation doing similar trials in India with the polio vaccine. It can be far too easy for people to try and play god and view people as lessers. You can do further research if you like but there are plenty of cases where poor people have been used in clinical trials, throughout history.

Why is this app called “Agnostic”?
Surfpirate comments on Apr 6, 2020:
The app is called Agnostic.com because Atheist.com might have discouraged some people from joining, which is ironic because there seem to be more atheists than agnostics on this site.
Surfpirate replies on Apr 7, 2020:
@Qopel You can be antitheist and agnostic but I don't see how you can deny the existence of all gods and still hold out the possibility that there may be gods. An agnostic is a fence sitter but an atheist has no belief in any gods at all. I can see that an atheist could change their mind about the existence of gods if presented with irrefutable proof but then they wouldn't be an atheist anymore. So how do you define atheist and agnostic that you think it is possible to be both at the same time?

The business model is all about plunder, Ford is a prime example and Trump and even better example. Bernie is more of the exception than the rule and the same applies to the NDP, business punished the NDP when it got power and they have been quite effective at neutralizing a platform that is very progressive and good for the people by using scare tactics. Surfpirate replies on Apr 3, 2020:
@Allamanda I hear you, I agonize over taking down any trees but sour oranges are pretty hardy and may actually benefit from a good pruning. I wouldn't want it banging into the new roof in a hurricane as it could possibly open up the roof envelope which would be awful in a hurricane CAT 3 or worse. I had rather guessed that it would be a rubble foundation with no real footing, not really necessary in a climate with no frost but maybe the odd tremblor. Are there any vertical or horizontal cracks in the wall near the sour orange? That would indicate that the roots may be undermining the wall and that is not good, horizontal cracks are worse than vertical cracks but neither is good. If you see them then you want to cut down the tree immediately and drill some holes in the stump, pour an herbicide to make sure it does sprout. The house has withstood the test of time but it does need some TLC, even just cutting out the rotten mortar and repointing the stonework will go a long way to keeping it whole. Labour is usually pretty reasonable in the island so you may want to sub that out unless you are comfortable with a trowel and the back breaking labour of mixing mortar. If you decide to go ahead on your own then you can tackle it a wheelbarrow load of mortar at a time, mix it with a heavy duty hand drill and it will save your back.
