The Japanese Air Force called the P-38's 'Fork Tailed Devils' because the P-38's wouldn't dog fight with the Zeros and Zekes but instead would use their superior firepower, speed and armor to do strafing runs on the Japanese pilots in mid air. The P-38's would cut swaths of destruction through the Japanese squadrons until there were only a few stragglers left to be picked of with the 20 mm cannons and the 50 cals. Nice story.
Ok, it's been a while since I've reached out to you all.

If he really believed in the Bible then he wouldn't be fucking without a license, would he? Perhaps your Atheism is convenient for him and provides a loophole for him to behave in a non-righteous manner by fornicating outside of the bounds of holy matrimony. If you do continue with him and get married he will want to perceive you as a chattel and bend you to his will as a fellow believer, does this sound acceptable to you? You would be best to start introducing him to your friends as your fuckbuddy and not your partner, it will make it less messy when he moves on to a permanent relationship with a 'good woman' - it's just how they are programmed from childhood and they can't seem to help it. I hope you find someone who is more worthwhile and complimentary to your growth as a person, so you can put this behind you as a fun and horny memory.
I am curious if anyone ever wonders how can this really smart person believe in God?
Surfpirate comments on Jul 15, 2018:
Human beings are intellectual beings but we are also emotional beings and just as our minds are hungry for knowledge so too are our hearts hungry for love. Science feeds our hunger for knowledge but does not sate the heart's need for love but religion does. Religion drives away the fear of our own mortality, it gives a sense of order to the world and our place in it, it gives meaning and purpose where there would otherwise be chaos and it gives eternal love from an omnipotent and omniscient creator being who loved us so much that he created us in his own image. Just because this is a completely delusional pile of horseshit doesn't mean that it isn't comforting in the same way that a security blanket comforts a child while not providing any real security, just the illusion of security. The very human need for a sense of security and order and purpose and love are what make people willing to set aside their logical mind and believe in religion to soothe their emotional hearts.

If you good live anywhere on the planet, where would it be and what attracts you about it?
Surfpirate comments on Jul 14, 2018:
That's a Huge Question and hard for most people to answer because most people haven't traveled extensively enough to make a qualified decision. Bermuda is a beautiful island with a terrific climate but it is isolated, I lived there for 7 years but eventually felt the need to move on. Ecuador has 5 climatic regions in one tiny country and would be a terrific place to live for people with good Spanish language skills if the politics weren't always in a potential state of upheaval, I lived there for 2 years. I have to think that French Polynesia could be a sweetheart of a deal but I know from friends who have lived there that once again there is isolation and the cost of living is very high. At the moment I live on a medium sized island in the St. Lawrence River with a beautiful view and peaceful surroundings in a natural setting, it works for me at the moment.

Surfpirate comments on Jul 13, 2018:
Girl Guides are like Boy Scouts, it's a lot like herding cats. A helpful hint from an old scouter, try to burn off some of their nervous energy before you get into showing them a few moves. Start them off with a brief talk and as they start to show the signs of boredom just transition right into some basic warm up moves before you show them 'the real stuff', 5 minutes of warming up (for safety so they don't pull any muscles) should get them pink in the face and refocused for the demonstration.

What this idiot is doing to the U.S.
Surfpirate comments on Jul 13, 2018:
Canada signed new trade agreements with Europe ahead of the inauguration of the new Bozo in Chief and has also strengthened our Asian trade alliances because the US is no longer seen as a trustworthy trade partner. The latest round of illegal trade tariffs have only reinforced that opinion in Canada and a strong Don't Buy American campaign is gaining momentum even though the trade sanctions that Trump has illegally implemented will be off set by WTO approved countermeasures the impact on the US economy will be great.

There is much about our history that is lost and buried, we need to keep searching our past if we are to reliably chart a way forward. Religion has definitely not helped in this regard, burying the old sites under their new sites. The churches and cathedrals I saw in South America were often built on top of the old Incan temples in a symbolic usurping of one god's power by another newer god.

I get that there are a lot of women out there that list height as a qualifier for dating suitability but do you have to be so bitter about it? I've seen short guys with really tall model types, it happens but I have to say that those guys tend to come off as insecure short guys with a chip on their shoulder but it does happen. There are a lot of women who are really into tall, that's just how it is.

I usually have vehicles that are a bit different so if I see one I tend to give a wave and they tend to wave back, sometimes they wave before I do so I guess there is a bit of a kinship between people that are interested in the same kind of car. Definitely used to happen when we drove older Saabs and when I had a Land Rover and now with the Jaguar even though it's just a baby Jag Type X.

Trump Got From NATO Everything Obama Ever Asked For [nytimes.
Surfpirate comments on Jul 13, 2018:
The NATO Allies have had enough of trying to talk some sense into the Orange Buffoon that currently inhabits the US White House so instead of trying to work out a deal with him they just let him have his victory lap, nodded when he made his pompous and insulting statements and then went back to business as usual. If you think that the NATO Allies are going to ramp up to 2% in the next few years and ultimately 4% in the next decade in order to support American Wars of Aggression then you are as delusional as Trump is. :D

It's an endless cycle, the money gets shaken out of the weak hands and is collected in the strong hands to use a bit of economic jargon, until eventually most of the money is stagnant in strong hands, then there is hardship and eventually insurrection which destroys the value of money and the currencies all must be reset and then the system repeats. It's a really stupid system designed by a really stupid species.

I found this in the bottom of a tool box that I picked up for $10 at an estate sale, 1947 Sterling Silver Medal from one of Canada's oldest and most prestigious boys prep schools - melt value is around $10 but it is in mint condition and a little piece of Canadiana. The tool box was worth $10, the tools were worth double that but the silver medal was a real bonus. I'd be happy if I found a $20 in an old jacket but this was even better.

I have heavy clay soil and I added a lot of sand to my beds and compost to them and rototilled it in, this has really improved the soil. Making a border with retaining wall stones as Cast 1es suggests would last as long as you're alive, stones or old bricks could also be utilized and can be had for free if one uses a bit of ingenuity and elbow grease. If you have even a little bit of slope a french drain can be installed from the raised beds to a low point to assist with drainage so your plants don't drown in the spring rains.

Surfpirate comments on Jul 12, 2018:
Some parents think that the best way for their kids to develop is through free expression and there is a term for those sorts of children, spoiled rotten brats. They do whatever they want without the slightest concern for the consequences of their actions, until they meet the other kids at recess and come home with a black eye. How is that good parenting?
So really we're just a bunch of thought provokers.
Surfpirate comments on Jul 12, 2018:
I'd rather have people say some shit now and then instead of not saying shit even though they have a mouth full. That sort of repressive behavior just leads to a build up of shit in the mouth until it fills the nasal cavity and then the brain, of course this leads to all manner of shitty thinking and because the nose is full of shit everything they see just stinks.

Surfpirate comments on Jul 11, 2018:
If GOD (that's DOG spelled backwards) were to 'make himself known as they say' then I would have a real quandary on my hands because if he is anything like that homicidal maniac in the book then I couldn't bend a knee. That said I must say that my evil twin has toyed with the idea of going back to church just to seriously fuck with them and their totally stupid shit. It would take a fairly big commitment in time and energy and the point would be lost on most of them but it would be fun to see the looks on the faces of some of the more sanctimonious ones as I outed them for the shams that they are.

Surfpirate comments on Jul 11, 2018:
I've always had good luck with pirates and bikers and mobsters, etc. I just take the good from the bad. We were touring around Mexico a few years ago and needed a place to camp for the night on the peninsula south of Mahahual down by the Belizean border. I found a little spot that let us stay there for a few days for about $10, gorgeous beach but no facilities and super tranquilo. Time to leave and a rear tire slipped off the hardpan and into the soft sand, immediately stuck axle deep in the sand. I talked to the fishermen next door and they agreed to haul me out with their 4x4 after lunch, great guys and I wouldn't have got out of there without their help, they refused money but accepted a bottle of tequila I had stashed and waved goodbye to us with big smiles. I get back to Mahahual and my friends freak out when I told them where we had spent the past couple of days because the fisherman are pirates in the slow season and loot the resorts and gringo villas. What can I say, they were good to me and perfect gentlemen towards my wife.

MEN: What would your reason be for asking a woman what she does for a living, upon meeting her?
Surfpirate comments on Jul 9, 2018:
I think people learn from an early age to put labels on everything and they like to lump similar things together, most kids will remember the Sesame Street game, 1 of these things is not like the others for example. So it is only normal for people to want to put a label on somebody they just met by finding out what they do for work because most people define themselves by what they do and by DO I mean work. This gives a whole pile of information about a person with just a few words because what we do often is an indication of how we think, what our income levels are, are we intellectually biased or more physically driven, are we extroverted or introverted, etc. etc. These are just superficial guesstimates because I have known structural engineers who are highly artistic and creative and artists who are very concerned with science and structure in their work or accountants who are extremely extroverted, etc. When people ask me what I do for a living I now answer them in a way that is truthful but which suits me best based upon my superficial sense of what kind of person they are based upon looks, dress, handshake and how they present themselves. I might just say that I am early retired, or that I am a master builder, or a real estate developer, or a carpenter, or a writer, or a microbiologist, or a politician - all of the above are true but what I tell someone will depend upon who and what I take them for, what I might possibly want from them and just how I am feeling at the moment because I know that they will modify their opinion of me based upon which answer I give them.

I think I will stick with French's, I find it tastes the same as Heinz. I remember as a kid being on a family trip to Leamington, Ontario and seeing the flat bed trailers piled high with rotten tomatoes at the Heinz plant, I still eat ketchup. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PiGb31e5ydo

Move to another apartment or get a garden plot if they have community garden plots where you live.
I'm working on a novel and sidelined reading Lord of the Flies last week.

I think the prohibition would still apply because of the cloven hoof but not chewing their cud rule.
What devices and/or services do use to watch tv?
Surfpirate comments on Jul 8, 2018:
I have a Roku TV but I only use it to play DVD's I get from the library, other than that I don't bother with it, I'd rather read or do other things.
What made you athiest?
Surfpirate comments on Jul 8, 2018:
By incredibly intelligent I would think you mean the top 2 percentile or would you narrow it down to the top 1%, 2% being exceptional but 1% being incredible? I think it is harder to be religious if you are intelligent because religion is full of illogical contradictions but the critical deciding factor in believing in a religion is the amount of gullibility and delusional tendencies a person has but certainly being stupid would be a real asset for being a believer. I'm not gullible or delusional and I am in the top 2 percentile so being an Atheist was a simple matter of rejecting the religious dogma my parents and society had tried to program me with since birth, I did that at 13 years of age because the holy book my family used said I could freely choose at that age. As for my feelings towards religious people, it's about the same as I feel towards any stupid person who is clearly delusional, about the same way I feel towards a rabid animal in the woods.
I know this is not a treehouse but I think it's pretty cool.

Years ago I used to build 990 sq ft starter homes in Calgary that we called grain silos because they were 2 stories tall with a 445 sq ft foundation but that is a real grain silo house. Love it.

This is what the Valley looks like as you approach it from the north, beautiful. The water that flows through the valley is loaded with minerals that are supposed to account for the large numbers of people who reportedly live past 100 years old. There are lots of 'interesting' people who have come to this place from all over the world, something for everyone and supposedly a hot bed of UFO activity as well, like I said 'interesting'.

I expected this site to go mainstream eventually so no harm, no foul as far as I am concerned.
Any wrecker drivers in here?

I used to dive when I lived in Bermuda, next door to Teddy Tucker. I used a Fischer CZ-21 and an Excal 1000 to locate metallic objects underwater. On the down low as they are a bit fussy about wreck divers in Bermuda, my finds were mostly recent jewellery, silver and gold but I did find a lead sounding weight and a few cannon balls and victoria era coins.

Sell one or two of the least attractive ones and that should pay for the others and the alcohol with a small profit. (Hint: the Arabs seem to pay the most) ;)
