Surfpirate replies on Aug 27, 2018:
@freeofgod If the pill is water soluble you may be able to break it down into a liquid form with distilled water and then squirt it down her throat with a syringe like the kind they use for children's cough syrup. Check with your vet on that one.

@Electro68 my younger brother couldn't fly either, he kept having a recurring dream where he would fall of a cliff and wake up just before he hit the rocks at the bottom (actually he was hitting the rocks and dying which is what woke him up), he started to dread going to sleep. I had to explain to him that he just needed to spread his arms when he was falling and he could fly. He was so terrified of dying again that he willed himself to do it, after that he quickly morphed into the silver surfer and he has always flown in his dreams, more than that really.

Surfpirate replies on Aug 26, 2018:
@Electro68 Start off with simple flight and then if you are doing stuff like flying really low or flapping your arms then work on flying higher and not flapping or even holding your arms out, it's dreamland rules so aerodynamics don't really apply. Once you have that down you should be able to figure out the rest but the auto recall is really handy, basically the same thing that happens when you die in a dream only you are in control of it so you can pull out of the dive before you hit the rocks or get eaten by something nasty.

@Electro68 What I call a slide is a technique I use when I am having a lucid dream, so I am in control of it. If I am going through a part of the dream that is slow I can move faster by doing a slide, it's like being on a high speed skateboard only without the board. You move things along or get out of trouble by using this technique but I usually have to be in a lucid state to make it work, a variation on this is the auto recall that acts like an emergency bungee cord that pulls you out of the dream when you are in imminent danger and that works automatically but the slide doesn't normally work that way but it did last night. Think of sliding as low level, high speed flight in an upright position, a handy trick. Another handy way of getting around if you want to get from one point to another or one time in the dream to another is blinking which is much like that movie Jumper, one minute you are here and the next your are there or then as the case may be but you need to have complete control over the dream so it doesn't happen very often, repetitive dreams are handy for this.

You are that rare voter, the one who thinks and asks pertinent questions, most of my neighbours will just say it will never work and I use words that are too large. :) There is money in the budget but it is getting siphoned off by the larger island which we share our township with. I alluded to this but you would have to be a local to pick up on that because it is a sore point and I didn't want to fan the flames too much but it does have to be addressed, hence the store which will provide money outside of general revenues. The roads on the larger island are in much better shape which goes back to the problem mentioned above. Fortunately, I have built a lot of roads as my background is in heavy construction, mostly institutional builds that my construction management company oversaw. The lockable containers may be a problem because people on the main roads won't get one and have to keep taking their trash cans out to the curb, the problem is at the end of the private lanes which are communal bins that are falling apart for the most part and look dreadful, plus they don't have locks. The variety stores in small communities have been gold mines but islanders tend not to support something that doesn't them back, therefore the co-op option, all islanders immediately become stakeholders and the funding for start up is provided through the business development program so no upfront costs. Also I left my email address so I can send a blanket response to these sorts of questions instead of repeating myself and being misinterpreted by using the phone.
So what do you think, smart asses? Would you vote for this SOB?

I would vote for him! But do remember, numbers 1 through 9 have to be spelled out. 10 and over can remain numerical in a sentence.

Probably for the same reason I have volunteered my time over the years for various causes and groups. Boy Scouts was the most expensive and time consuming but very rewarding to see kids that were from the wrong side of the tracks and going nowhere, turn their lives around with a little direction and encouragement. The same thing applies to this position, my island community is full of people that insist that it is never going to get any better even though they live on a beautiful island. Sometimes you just have to step up and do what you can, even if the people you are trying to help are throwing brickbats at you and then claim the laurels when you fix the shit they caused with their bad attitude in the first place. Sounds like my old career, except I got paid good money for doing it instead of peanuts.
The 19th century is approaching quickly, time to turn the tide.

@KissedbySun I hear what you say and there a lot of different 'pagan' groups but the Witches I knew held Samhain in high esteem as the new year. I used to read the cards for the High Priestess of a group that I was good friends with but to be honest I mainly just wove the symbols into a good story because I'm a good storyteller and come from a long line of good storytellers. Everyone was happy and in the end if you can be happy then that's pretty damned good.
