Magnet Collision in Slow Motion like Iron Man Nanobot suit up - YouTube

Wouldn't this level of attraction make a great ad for an online dating site?
Okay, here's a question. How much of the time do you have a song playing in your head?
Surfpirate comments on May 25, 2018:
All the time, there is always a song playing but sometimes I will get one on loop. That can be a bit tiresome. Waiting for the End of the World by Elvis Costello was playing this morning but there were a few others before Nature Boy by Nat King Cole took prominence, it will be something else by this evening.

Platitudes kind of piss me off. I'm not sure why. They always seem false and devoid of action.

'Get fucked you cunt.' That's one of my favourites, never seems false or devoid of action. :)
Peaceful protests (such as take a knee movement in the nfl) should always be LEGAL!
Surfpirate comments on May 25, 2018:
Americans forget that white players took a knee to protest the KKK lynching blacks back in the 1950's, everyone thought they were great guys for doing it. Could be a pigmentation thing and if it is I hope that the 80% of black players call in sick next Sunday so the bigots can enjoy their game.
What do you think about accepting a friend request from your ex on Facebook?
Surfpirate comments on May 25, 2018:
There is a reason they're your EX, they are no longer in your life in a personal way. Why would anyone allow someone they just spent a bunch of money getting out of their life back into their personal life? This makes no sense to me. By EX I mean ex-wife, I have an ex-girlfriend on my FB page, she shares her account with her husband who is a decent guy. My wife doesn't FB anymore and isn't on my FB friends, that list has been pared down to less than 50 from a few hundred back when I used to admin some expat groups and I picked up a bunch of people along the way.
Guilt and Shame -- how much is too much, how little is too little?
Surfpirate comments on May 25, 2018:
I think that it is more important to teach children Cause and Effect because that's how the world actually works. Guilt and Shame are just tools to control people, to make them conform and obey. How will people raise with Guilt and Shame ever learn to understand what it is to be Free?

Surfpirate comments on May 25, 2018:
I used to prefer a good Cabernet Sauvignon from South Africa but after living in South America for a few years I developed a taste for the Malbecs and the Carmeneres from Argentina and Chile. Since it is now summer in Canada we will be switching over to Chardonnays, Sauvignon Blancs and Fumee' Blancs with a reserve for some of the Spanish sparkling whites and the Portuguese Vino Verdes.

I hope it works out for you but don't lower your guard until everything is signed, sealed and delivered. I did and it cost me a bundle, possibly because I got divorced in the early 90's when as my very expensive lawyer put it 'You have the bad luck to get a divorce at the worst time in history for a white man.' My kids are in their 30's now, I still send a cheque every month because it is cheaper than the next round of lawyers fees to stop this merry go round but I am thinking about cutting the cord this year. Enough is enough.

Surfpirate comments on May 25, 2018:
It depends upon who you ask, some would suggest that men are simply a life support system for a penis and others would say that men are the perfect compliment to a strong and intelligent woman, there are lots of opinions filling up the middle ground but it depends upon the woman.

Surfpirate comments on May 25, 2018:
I can understand why you would be offended by misogynistic comments, any attack rooted in sexism is a nonstarter as far as I'm concerned but isn't it also helpful to have those people self identify for you. No point in wasting the cost of a cup of coffee on a date with someone you wouldn't cross the street to say hello to, is there? My wife and I don't agree on everything (thank goodness - how boring would that be) but our discourse is always respectful of each other, no matter what the topic. We would never seek to muzzle each others opinion as it defeats the whole purpose and undermines being in an open and trusting relationship.

Surfpirate comments on May 24, 2018:
I bet if you put an ad on Craigslist explaining that you were an Atheist looking for companionship then you would get oodles of calls from nice, Christian girls hoping to save you. If it's just for the summer then why not? You might even save one of those nice, Christian girls from a lifetime of guilt and repression. ;)

Breaking Up: Why Is Leaving Religion So Hard? Hasidic
Surfpirate comments on May 24, 2018:
At the very least your wallet is 10 percent to the good and you gain a bunch of free time that is no longer wasted on religion. I can see why the religion would be upset at losing the money and the free labour but not sure why the person who is now free wouldn't be thrilled with their new freedom. Old habits die hard is the only explanation that comes to mind.

Surfpirate comments on May 23, 2018:
The Handmaid's Tale was one of those books that you had to read in high school for English class. Margaret Atwood may have had the benefit of being on the outside looking at parts of American society and then extrapolating where that might take things in the future. Surfpirate comments on May 22, 2018:
I came out a long time ago, half of my family is JW and the other half is Agnostic or Atheist. The JW's stopped trying to win me over because I was doing too good of a job winning them over to the side of logic. They take solace in the JW teaching that once Armageddon comes and I am destroyed by Jehovah's army of angels, the world will be made anew and all memory will be wiped from their minds as though they never knew me so they won't miss me. How messed up is that? :D

Surfpirate comments on May 22, 2018:
I was building a luxury hotel for a client and he had brought on the hotel manager before the hotel was ready to open due to the usual construction delays that go with a hotel build, changes, etc. It didn't take me too long to realize that the hotel manager was stealing, not that I was surprised because he was a real weasel of a person and the head of Mormons in the area, so I brought my findings to the client as it is my job to protect his interests. The evidence was black and white with a pretty strong paper trail but the hotel manager was so far up the client's butt that we had nicknamed him Bootsy as that's all you could see of him sticking out the client's ass whenever he was around. The next morning the hotel manager was called into the boardroom and the client tore a strip off of him but this cat was so slick and so sleazy that within an hour he had the whole thing turned around and was blaming me for stirring up trouble and undermining morale. I had taken the job almost to completion after picking it up part way through construction and several million dollars in the hole, brought it back to profitability through many long hours and frankly I was now sick of the job but couldn't leave because in my business code you finish what you start. This was an overseas job so I needed a work permit and as the time for renewal of the permit approached there was no sign that the paperwork had been processed, turns out the hotel manager had played politics and made sure my paperwork got lost at immigration. The day my work permit expired the client and the hotel manager called a snap meeting and gave me 'the bad news', I told them it wasn't a problem, business is business. I left my staff on the job as their work permits were tied to the project and partnered with another local in a new business. The heads of department told the client that the job would be put behind by 6 months and to expect losses of at least a million bucks as I was the only person who knew where everything was, it turned out that they underestimated the delays and the costs, closer to a year in delays and the overruns ran into the millions. In the end the hotel manager screwed the client over completely and he lost the hotel to the bankers. You can't save some clients from themselves, no matter how hard you try.

I can tell you right now that you are definitely not an Atheist and if you believe that Jesus exists and is a great guy then it is unlikely that the term Agnostic would apply either. Maybe you are just questioning religion and feeling confused which is a perfectly normal way to feel. Answers come from asking questions, the better the questions, the better the answers. Stick around for a bit, see if you like it and find it worthwhile, either way I wish you all the best in your quest.

Kids say the darnedest things.....
Surfpirate comments on May 22, 2018:
Teachers have no sense of humour and some of them seem to have no sense at all. Classic case in point. Little Johnny comes home from schoolnsfw He says to his father, "Dad, our math teacher is asking to see you." "What happened?" the father asks. "Well, she asks me, 'how much is 7x9?' I answer '63' , then she asks, 'and 9x7?' so I asked 'what's the fucking difference?' " "What is the difference?" asks the father. ''Sure, I'll go.'' The next day, Johnny comes home from school "Dad, have you gone by the school?" He asks. "Not yet." "Well when you do, come and see the gym teacher also." "Why?" asks the father. Johnny explains, "Well, we had a gym class today, and he asked me to raise my left arm, I did. Then my right arm, I also raised it. Then he asked me to lift my right leg, so I did. 'Now,' he says, 'lift your left leg,' so I asked 'The fuck am I suppose to do, stand on my dick!?'" "Exactly," says the father. "Alright, I'll come." The next day, Little Johnny asks his father "Did you go to the school?" "No, not yet." "Don't bother, I got expelled." Surprised, the father asks "Why did you get expelled?" "Well, they summoned me to the principal's office, and sitting there were the math teacher, the gym teacher, and the art teacher." "The fuck was the art teacher doing there?" asks the father. "That's what I asked!" said Little Johnny.

Surfpirate comments on May 22, 2018:
The mystique that the Church has built around itself extends to priests and they are perceived as being otherworldly by true believers, so they can do no wrong or be held accountable for their actions in the way that lesser mortals are. That said, I recall a story of a village priest who impregnated several women in Italy during WWII while the husbands were away fighting. When the surviving soldiers returned home to several new babies with a striking resemblance to the parish priest it was decided that matters had to be taken in hand. They dragged the priest to the town square in the middle of the night, tied him to one of the trees and when he confessed after a sound beating it was decided to make it impossible for him to procreate again. A knife was considered but drawing blood was felt to be a sin so they used two bricks to do the job. The priest was found unconscious the next morning, still tied to the tree, the bricks weighing down his robes so that all could see that justice had been done. The Church removed the priest and didn't replace him for more than a year, nobody seemed to mind.

I sustained a traumatic back injury a few years ago, wound up walking with a cane for 6 months. Chiropractic helped a bit, GP and Surgeon said nothing could be done but referred me to a Physiotherapist and that was my path to recovery. A year later I am off the pills and operating at 80% and still improving. The treatments have me to the point where it is mostly in my hands now, I need to work on certain muscle groups now to strengthen them and take the pressure off the nerve damaged areas, I can even feel my left leg now which had been numb since the accident. Physio isn't covered here unless you are a senior citizen but it was worth the money. Even if you just get the initial exam and some exercises and stretches it would help you. I picked up an Obusform deep massager at a yard sale for $17, brand new in the box and it was a good investment for those times when I have a flare up and my back or shoulder locks up. Hope some of these suggestions help, the pills will rot your guts out if you take them long enough.

This wall segment at the Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo is indicative of how accomplished the stonework is. I have built a lot of major buildings but none of my crew would be able to replicate this stonework, maybe if diamonds saws and argon pulse lasers were used but certainly not with stone and copper tools. It's a mystery and all the more so when you consider that the Inca say that these stone edifices predate their ancestors.
Does anyone here believe in the atheist religion of Anton Lavey? The Church Of Satan!

Sneeze comment
Surfpirate comments on May 21, 2018:
Since a sneeze spews thousands of germs it is a good idea to tell someone to cover their mouth. Bless you goes back to the ignorant and superstitious notion that the devil would try to enter person after a sneeze when in fact the person was potentially spreading disease to others.
Happy Victoria Day!

Abortion Laws are the clearest indication that the government and the church view people as chattels and therefore need to control the power of procreation of said chattels.

It always amazes me to see how insidious patriarchy is in our society, how religious dogma interjects itself into everyone's life, even the non-religious. Women should never allow anyone to dictate what they can or cannot do with their own body, any more than a man would but because of patriarchal religious morality that is exactly what happens. An unwanted pregnancy can and should be terminated by a woman for whatever reason she deems acceptable, just as any other elective medical procedure should be her choice and hers alone. Having to factor in medical costs for contraception is uncivilized but because of religious pressures that is exactly the world we live in, when we give up freedom over our own bodies then we are giving up one of our most basic freedoms. We need as a society to stop stigmatizing abortion because all we are doing is giving into religious control over our lives. Choosing to have a child or not is a personal choice that has far reaching consequences and is no business of religion or the state.
What is the best view you have ever had from your house?
Surfpirate comments on May 21, 2018:
This is the view from here this morning, there's a doe down by the road that has just come up from the river where it had a drink. Wherever I go I need to be close to water, no necessarily on it but I need to be able to see it, I find it's energizing.
HELP.

Have you tried your local library, they usually have a good selection of DVD's you can take out and if they don't have what you want they can often bring it in from other branches. I don't watch TV because there is no cable on the island where I live but I do borrow DVD's from the library so I get to choose the better programs and avoid all the mind candy that is on cable TV.
How do you define "incredible" sex?

There's only good sex - there is no bad.
From the "Penthouse Sexicon" of some 50 years ago:- Adult: One old enough to do it.

Jeez, you are going to be busy tomorrow, good luck with the stair climb. It's a national holiday tomorrow, here in Canada, I'll probably have a few beers and hang out with some friends, nothing as ambitious as you.
Israel and Iran fighting each other in Syria.
Surfpirate comments on May 20, 2018:
Real bullets, real blood and lurking in the background are the real nukes that Israel coyly denies having but everyone knows they have, about 100 of them. Fanatics and nuclear weapons are always a bad combination.
That moment when you are in the irrigation ditch and see a little garter snake and think thats ok ...
Surfpirate comments on May 20, 2018:
I was never concerned much about snakes until I moved to the Tropics, northern snakes are happy to slink away for the most part but once you get near the Equator they tend to come after you instead and most of them are poisonous.
Did the city of Atlantis exist?
Surfpirate comments on May 20, 2018:
The field of underwater archeology is still in its infancy. Most of the work centers around shipwrecks, particularly treasure ships which is something I know a little bit about as someone who has done some underwater metal detecting. Certainly there have been changes in sea levels over the course of history and in prehistory, there have also been subsidences in land masses that are quite normal from a geological perspective. So did Atlantis exist? possibly Was Atlantis the way Homer described it? possibly Time will tell.
