My insurance I had since an infant was not renewed after the first of this year. Why? I was never late on payments. They said it was because it was a non ACA program. I had to get other insurance. Went from $200/mo up to $700/mo! Far less coverage. I was supposed to see a doctor at 8AM today. Decided not to go. Here is why. I got a letter from Medica. It was a bill. Not for the premium. Laboratory Charges $31, provider responsibility $9.88 Allowed Amount $21.12. Paid Amount $0.00. Laboratory Charges $23, provider responsibility $7.46 Allowed Amount $15.54. Paid Amount $0.00. Blood collection $9, provider responsibility $5 Allowed Amount $4. Paid Amount $0.00. Office visit $158, provider responsibility $45.99 Allowed Amount $112.01. Paid Amount $0.00. What is that $700/mo paying for? Might as well have said fuck it and not gotten insurance. Only reason why I have it is because my last back surgery was 15K. Should just go to the ER and say fuck them. They can't deny medical attention (until trump fucks that up). I tried to get insurance through Medicade. They told me I don't make ENOUGH money to qualify! Really? Fuck these greedy pricks! Edit: forgot about the time I was scheduled for an ultra sound. They called me less than 24 hrs before the appointment. Said I needed to bring something like $700! However, they told me it would be covered under insurance! Another time I was scheduled for my 4th back procedure. Claimed insurance would pay. Got a ride for it, and surprise! Would not cover it. My mom had to get some pills for a life threatening condition. A 3 month supply was over $120K, Yes, over one hundred and twenty thousand dollars. She was almost ready to sell everything she owned, including the farm. Luckily Medicare paid for the pills. Doctors and thieves both wear masks.
