@MsAl I get your point. It has probably changed, but min wage for waitresses and bartenders was $2.13/hr. Who wants to work for that? They don't legally have to pay you any more than that, and a lot don't. I agree that it should be up to the business owner to provide a decent living wage. I'm one of the very few people around here that do tip. My thought is that if you can afford to go out to eat, you should leave at least a few bucks. However, a tip is based on performance. Got a server that just has a bad attitude with shitty service? Lucky if you get anything. I was at a bar a few years ago. I ordered some drinks for me an my room mate at the time. She came back with change. Asked if I wanted the change (I wanted it for the juke box). I was planning on tipping her at the end of the night. She threw the change at me! Then she stormed off. Guess what? No tip for her. When you go to a restaurant, or a bar, you go there for the service. Anyone can cook at home, and it would be cheaper. You can invite some friends over and have a few drinks, also cheaper. Tips are based on performance. I know bartenders that make min wage, but after tips, might take home $25+/hr. Lots of the tips don't get taxed anyways. If you think that is bad, try working a job based simply on commission. They don't have to pay you min wage, and they usually don't. I had one two week paycheck that was about $3/hr. I had an associates degree and tens of thousands in tools. You are preaching to the choir.

That would be a hell of a lot more practical. If you shoot someone with a .22 LR or even a .22 mag, you are probably just going to piss them off. Plus only one round. Unless you shoot them at short range, and get them right between the eyes, you're fucked. Forgotten Weapons did an episode of a breifcase machine gun. That is cool! @FrayedBear I have an associates degree in automotive technology. I am Ford and ASE certified. Spent over half a decade in the service industry. I have a Blu Point infared. Not close to as accurate as a thermocouple. Plus it spreads a beam that will pick up temps from other things unless you are right up to whatever you want to check the temp of. Also external temperature is different than internal.. This ain't my first rodeo cowboy, and I don't know why you are being such a jerk. A simple meat thermometer is far cheaper than an infared. Don't know why you brought that up in the first place.

@FrayedBear Yep. 160 degrees min internal temp. I can just tell when things are cooked (with limited exception). I sometimes cheat and cut in half to look. If it is any color of pink, put it back in. With cordon bleu, you just need to be overly careful. You don't want the good stuff all over the place. Meat thermometer would do wonders.

@Livinlife I'm trying to move back to the Southwest. If things don't get better with politics, I'll move out of the country. In the US Nevada, somewhere near Vegas (maybe a burb). No state income tax. The only state that does not report earnings to the IRS, and houses that are worth 5X mine have about the same land tax per year. Good weather. No snow. Plus if close enough to Vegas, you can see a show, or a concert about any day of the week!
