To be fair it really wasn't a "bailout" for farmers. We have been getting direct payments for decades. We get some type of price loss guarantee or some sort of County average loss (not both, and can't remember the names of the programs). For those of you that have never dealt with agribusiness, on a good year you borrow a dollar to make a dime. On a bad year, you might borrow a dollar to lose a dime. I can elaborate if any would like. But giving money to people that make lots is fucked up. Most farmers don't make a lot (if anything). They work hard. Some work 9-5. Lots of farmers work 5-9, and on a good year, the good ones might make 35K.
