Before that, the girls would compete on their school's high school boys team and when they were set to wrestle a boy, the boy would usually forfeit the match rather than wrestle her, and suffer the humiliation of possibly losing. Another reason that boys would forfeit is if they were religious or conservative, and felt it was wrong to wrestle a girl with those norms.

And even in that merit system, the rich kids still get into the best colleges, thru their connections and thru sending their kids to the best prep schools, so they have maximum chances of doing well on the merit exams all kids take to get into the universities. Many people on them, both men and women, don't even read most or even any of the profiles, just look at the photos and sort from there, except maybe the women that care about money and will reply to a man whose profile seems to indicate he is wealthy. With most singles on dating sites, you can have the greatest profile essay in the world, and it will make little difference if your photos don't seem impressive against the competition.. And I really pity you trying to date in Alabama. You can pretty much forget ever meeting anyone local to date from this site. It has so few members, who are so scattered throughout the US, that local dating is almost never an option.

Hypocrisy, thy name is Republican... Giving government money and tax breaks to rich people is seen as righteous because they are seen as job creators, even tho we all know that is a myth.... Speaking of PPP loans, in the city where I live, one small businessman, who owns an arts movie theater, got a ton of loan money from the feds during early Covid under this program for the purpose of supposedly keeping his theater open and continuing to pay his employees, etc. Instead, he never reopened his theater after Covid hit, tho all his competitors here eventually did. I don't know if his loan was forgiven or not, but as far as I'm concerned, he is a crook and has cheated the taxpayers, but nothing is ever going to happen to him over it. I think he should have to give all that money back, but that's just my idealistic morality. I have no idea if he's a Repub, but he sure acts like one, typical greedhead businessman. There is another art house movie theater, a non-profit one, that is being started, after Covid hit, that is supposed to open soon, and if the crooked businessman reopens his theater, which I doubt he will, but if he does, I will boycott him and continue to spread the word about this crook. I hope the new art house theater puts him out of business for good, should they both be open this fall. But I doubt he will ever reopen, nor does he care what happens to his theater.

And for those of us who have lived years without good health insurance and access to health care, it's also called beating the odds. In my case, I have beat the odds, but I credit that mostly to having inherited good genetics and also having been an athlete when I was young. Otherwise, like most folks who go years without getting regular good medical care, my life expectancy would likely be only another dozen years or so before reaching my expiration date.

Obviously they are not aware of how many women on dating sites are not interested in men who have hunting and fishing as their main interests, but of course there are exceptions and it may vary drastically based on which area dating pool you are talking about for that site. For example, the OP lives in the Chicago area, very urban compared to where I live, which is a much smaller metro area, and the vast majority of women in my local dating pool grew up in rural areas, where hunting and fishing are very popular with men, as well as fishing being popular with a lot of women in my local dating pool. I esp. see this with women who never went past high school for education and are probably working class or working poor for their economic class. Hunting and fishing are popular among rural men, as well as lower income folks, because it provides free or extra food, and is a low cost form of recreation as well, same as camping, also popular with most women in my dating pool, esp. the ones with lower education levels and financial levels. Or the men may be aware of how this comes across to women like the OP, but simply don't care, because she is not the kind of woman they want anyway. They want someone who grew up in a rural area and a working class or lower income family that is more likely to share their interests, culture, education level, etc. The OP appears to be more of an college-educated, higher income level city slicker, not their type to begin with, so why would they give a fuck what her kind thinks about the fish pic?

The 62% stat sure seems correct to me, as I have tested my local dating pool on Match by making up a dummy female profile with similar traits to mine, and then doing a search on the site. I found that there were two to three men on the site for every woman on the site in my age group and local area. Way too much competition for most men to have a chance of finding a compatible and acceptable partner. And most of the women on dating sites know this, so they are raising their standards, often to ridiculous levels, since they can do so and still get tons of interest, since they have the pick of the litter. And a man can be emotionally healthy as all get out, as well have great relationship skills and reasonable standards for women they date, but it will make no difference if his looks are not competitive with the other men in his online dating pool and the women in his dating pool prefer men with more money than him as well. I think the loneliness and unhappiness of both men and women in the online dating game is related to unrealistic expectations on the part of both genders, but in the case of men, it is the greater competition they face as well as the likely fact that in the age groups over 50, women are usually way more ambivalent than men about finding a partner and that probably explains why many women, way more than men, choose to drop out of the dating game or give up rather than keep trying to find a partner. Thus, way more men remain in the dating game than women in the over 50 age groups and that is never likely to change. Which may mean, that my only hope is to wait it out, until most of my male age cohorts in the local dating pool die off, and then be able to finally have a more level gender ratio of men to women on dating sites. But I'm really not interested in waiting another ten years and going it alone until then. If my late wife hadn't developed dementia, even tho she was much older than me, I would still probably be happily married and with her for another five years from now, instead of having become widowed five years ago. And wouldn't have been facing this online dating shit like I have been for the last few years. So yeah, life sure as fuck isn't fair...

I wish everyone who votes were required to take a course in simple economics, and learn these things, instead of just relying on campaign ads and the corporate mass media, where in both of those they get hit with the usual Trickle Down and Chicago School versions of economics, both of which encourage them to vote against their own economic interests. The whispering voices and the paranoia in the video remind me of the old satirical comedy sitcom, Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, where the opening title credits would be of her inner voices calling her name, as they did later in the series where she finally went completely nuts and ended up in a mental hospital. I would love to see Trump kill himself or end up in some kind of institution, preferably a non-white collar one, but I won't hold my breath.... Well, one thing that was really bad and frustrating before the net, was weekly listings for karaoke (my main hobby) and live music, another big interest of mine. We had to depend on posted fliers for live band concerts, or else depend on the local newspaper's weekly entertainment section, which came out each Wed. or Thur., can't remember which. And the listings for either one, karaoke or live bands, were notoriously inaccurate or out of date, because the newspaper depended on the bar owner, not the entertainment provider, to update or correct the listings. And the bar owners often didn't care much about doing that or keeping their listings up to date or accurate. So, a lot like today, you needed to call the venue and confirm the event before going to it that date. But now, with FB and the net, you can look up info on the event up to the last minute, for cancellations or changes, which are usually posted promptly and accurately. And that is way better than the old days, when you had no choice but to call the venue for info about an event, and never get anyone on the phone, even if they were open at the time, or worse, play phone tag trying to get a call back from them if you couldn't call when they were open for business.

Until this action, Garland has lost my trust, now I am waiting to see how far he actually goes with it, but I'm not holding my breath. I have no faith in Biden or the Dems to actually go far enough with Trump. Instead, I think they are just mostly using this to influence the midterm elections and then will let things go with Trump after that.

My late wife obviously didn't think I was an asshole and neither do my longtime friends. They all knew and know me way better than you, so STFU! You also don't live in my area, and therefore know nothing about my local dating pool. Your arrogance is matched only by your ignorance of the things you feel you know enough about to judge others on. As I've said before on these boards, it's no mystery why there is so little discussion in recent months from members about their actual dating experiences, outside of posting very safely about funny or silly memes or experiences with foolish people on dating sites. I don't think an ironclad case will make any difference. The Trumpers don't want to hear about evidence, the law or truth. They will start civil war no matter what happens once they think he is being shafted. And he will never be convicted anyway, no matter what the evidence, as he will demand a jury trial and all they need is to get one MAGA person on the jury, and they will hang it, resulting in a mistrial and enough delay that by the time he might get convicted, by some miracle, there will be a new Repub president in 2024 to pardon him, assuming we are talking a federal case. He already got a break in NY, a blue state where it looked like they had plenty of evidence for a criminal case for financial crimes, but the state AG decided not to prosecute, or maybe it was a federal case in that state. Anyway, he is in the clear for that. And in any red state that somehow goes after him on state charges, all he has to do there is get a pardon from that state's governor after being convicted. Bottom line, he will never see prison, because in two years, the Repubs will run it all in DC. A lot of the MAGAs are pretty thick, but it's not like they are going to be wearing their red hats at jury selection, and they will all be coached beforehand on how to lie during the jury selection, Trump's cronies will make sure of that. They are good at covering up things, including jury tampering...
