Karl Popper was a famous science philosopher.
Tomfoolery33 comments on Jul 7, 2018:
Utopias are unworkable. It's usually one person's vision (or maybe a small group) and they end up forcing everyone into their view. Either that, or it turns into anarchy. Communism is an example of a promised paradise that turned into a hell.

I usually write my poems from a visual thought. Does anyone else do this?

Okay, another post on the topic of blocking.
Tomfoolery33 comments on Jul 6, 2018:
I've never blocked anyone on here, and I haven't been blocked, as far as I know. I try to be reasonable and accomodating, though I might come off a bit snarky sometimes. Occasionally someone will get my hackles up, but no one's ever made me mad enough consistently enough to block them. I think it's a useful tool however.

Could an AI truly be conscious?
Tomfoolery33 comments on Jul 6, 2018:
I don't think so, and the main reason is that our bodies are the source or feedback loop for a lot of our "feelings" and we're not going to the trouble of creating AI with a body like our own. There are other reasons I don't think it will happen, but you're right about one thing, we wouldn't be able to prove or disprove it. Read Antonio Damasio if you want some in-depth ideas on the brain and feelings.
