Because dicks love power, and will do most anything to get it. And they do.

Have any of you ever had any first hand experience of the effects of psychedelics?
Tomfoolery33 comments on Jun 15, 2018:
I had many experiences with psychedelics. Most were just recreational, but I did have some profound things happen as well. I think it changed my thinking, particularly since I did most of it when I was young. It's hard to judge exactly, since I didn't grow up not doing it, to have something to compare it to. I've read several books about this, though not the one you referred to, and one of the things that stuck in my mind was that on tests afterward, people were more inclined to be concerned about quality of life issues, rather than mundane things like jobs and money, etc. I think that's a positive effect.

Tomfoolery33 comments on Jun 15, 2018:
I started meditating years ago, but I've never managed to make it a regular part of my life. It's always been an off and on thing, but I've been getting better at general mindfulness over the course of the years. I tend to stick to routines, because they keep me grounded in reality, but I've never made a routine of meditation for some reason, though I've learned to do mindless chores in a meditative manner. --Just some ramblings brought to mind by reading your post.

I don't know what people do anymore. Neither of my sons has gotten anyone pregnant, so I know they've been careful, and my daughter is gay, so she's not gonna get pregnant. None of their friends have gotten pregnant, so somebody's being careful. I think it's just the same stupidity that's always been around.
So, was talking to a friend of mine this weekend at a BBQ.

Not having dealt with it myself, I'm not really sure. But I'd say find something you like to do, and then find a group to do it with. A book club, a bowling league, a gardening club, whatever you like to do. The fact that you like the same thing as the group should ease the awkwardness somewhat.
