My two cents: I don’t normally spend much time reading bios.
Tomfoolery33 comments on May 10, 2018:
I think a lot of people (particularly older people) are wary of potential mates older than they are because it reminds them that they, too, are getting older. I've seen lots of women's profiles on dating sites that really restrict that upper age limit. Granted, I'm only looking at women's profiles, and in the range of 40 and up, but that's my take on it.
Religion is a byproduct of the evolution of our mind.
Tomfoolery33 comments on May 10, 2018:
That seems right. We started thinking beyond everyday survival, and didn't have the answers, so we started projecting our dream minds into what we thought might be real.

The intolerance towards cigarette smokers.
Tomfoolery33 comments on May 10, 2018:
I've been smoking for most of my life, and lived through the transition of people just accepting it without question to people being really negative. The worst thing for me now, is that you can't smoke in bars. I mean drinking and smoking just go together. I can't stay in a bar for long without wanting to smoke. Some of them have outside smoking areas, which is nice, except in the winter.
I'm curious!!! How do you feel about "hooking up" as the younger crowd call "one night stands"?
Tomfoolery33 comments on May 9, 2018:
When I was young, I did that a few times, and found out how unsatisfying it was. Haven't been interested in hooking up since.

Excellent poem! I just got divorced a few years back after 35 years, and though it wasn't a bad divorce, as these things go, it tore me apart and left me feeling like my life was uprooted. Part of that was because I also lost my job, and our 2 kids were growing up and moving out. I feel for you, having known some of what you've gone through. I'm also a poet, and have been writing since I was a teenager, and it does help. Keep it up. You're good at it.
