They know the democrats are not in the family farmers favor. Hell they want to tax and regulate us to death! And some democrats support AOC’s radical Green New Deal who wants to stop using oil and get rid of the farting cows. For that very reason the democrats have very little support in rural. A good example of that is the 2016 presidential election map posted above.

@kenriley We paid them in 2005 when dad died. At that time the maximum you could inherit from your parents tax free was 3,000,000 dollars. Anything over that was subject to a 35% estate tax. If he had lived another 6 months we would have paid 300,000 less as the republicans had raised the amount you could inherit tax free. Currently you can inherit 11 million tax free from your parents or 5.5 million per person. The democrats in general have alway favored higher estate taxes. A lot of the republicans on the other hand want to do away with estate taxes. Hell Bernie’s Sanders wants to lower the amount you can inherit tax free back down to 3.5 million and impose a 45% tax on anything over that and I’m sure left wing people like Ocasio Cortez would like to do the same.

I don’t even think Trump is a Christain but he realizes the conservatives unfortunately can’t win an election without the support of the religous right wing. It seems most religous people are conservative. Even though I myself don’t believe in religion I consider religous folks for the most part especially when it comes to politics to be the lessor evil to the left wing socialist people. Hell the left wing people have already cost my sister and I 600,000 dollars in estate taxes and some of them like AOC even want to ban cows and have us stop using oil. As a rancher and mineral owner why would I ever vote for a liberal democrat or for that matter any democrat as they are becoming quite left leaning.
