@Tompain1 I have a degree in history and am well read on it. Cortez can never pay for her so called green new deal with a 70% income tax on those with income over 10,000,000 as what she purposes would cost trillions and she wants to do it by 2030, hardly a long term plan. Seems like you need to study a little history yourself.

@t1nick No that’s not scare tactics. We don’t even have the technology to be able to go 100% green by 2030 without destroying the US economy! Unless we come up with some new technology like fusion it will likely take over 100 years to make the switch. What’s even more disturbing to me is the fact that the same people who want to take drastic measures to switch green also want to do away with ICE and open the border which is totally insane as overpopulation is the number one problem facing us humans today.

Trajan61 replies on Feb 7, 2019:
@kenriley Very true. I’d just as soon leave the cattle ranch to my children and grandchildren as give it to the government. Some of the democrats want all estates over 1 million to be taxed at 50% at the federal level. And that doesn’t even include state taxes. My sister and I paid over 600,000 in 2005 when dad died on an estate of a little over 3,000,000. If they tax it at a low level like some of them want it’s going to put a lot of family farmers and ranchers out of bussiness. Currently the federal estate tax is tax free to 5,000,000 for an individual and 10,000,000 for a couple. That is probably the biggest reason the democrats don’t do well in rural areas. But yes I do worry about the national debt and my own debt as well.

Obama enacted a lot of idiotic environmental regulations through his EPA director Gina Mcarthy without ever going through Congress. Morsi May have been democratically elected but he belonged to the radical Muslim brotherhood and wanted to impose Sharia law. When he was elected it should have threw up a huge red flag and we should have stopped arms shipments. Fortunately for us he was overthrown. If we listened to the radical environmental idiots like Al Gore who said the artic would be ice free by 2013 or Ocasio Cortez who said this country would end in 12 years this country would have major problems as there’s no way we could feed and house this country anytime in the near future on 100% green energy.

The cattle market is somewhat lacklustre as cattle numbers are still pretty high but there is some liquidation of cows going on as hay is a lot higher and that bodes well for the future. Oklahoma’s economy isn’t doing to well as it is overly dependent on oil and gas and drilling has pretty much come to a standstill as oil and gas is just to cheap for drilling activity to be profitable. @kenriley We made a bad mistake when we took out Saddam Hussein as he was a Sunni Muslim and a good counter to Iran. I think Bush 41 handled it correctly when he didn’t take Sadam out. I frankly don’t think Iran would ever honour any deals we make with them because of their radical Muslim cleric rulers. Russia seems intent on stirring up trouble in the world. I feel a lot better now that Trump exited the Iran deal and is working with Saudi Arabia and Israel to keep Iran in check.

I always thought it was foolish for Obama to make that deal with Iran as Iran is very hostile toward America and is ruled by radical extremist Shiite Clerics who are calling for the destruction of Israel our best Ally in the Middle East and the only viable demacracy there. I know the money we returned to them was theirs but that money should have been forfeit as their seizure of the US Embassy was an act of war. Not to mention their extreme hostility toward America.

They would then go to work at the VA. I think vets should be free to go to other doctors and still receive the benefits they had from the VA if they choose to do so.

Trajan61 replies on Feb 3, 2019:
@kenriley I’m a registered republican as I wouldn’t be able to vote in the primaries if I were registered as a libertarian. I feel that a vote for for a libertarian is a wasted vote as the party right now unfortunately just doesn’t have enough support to be a viable contender over a democrat or republican If Rand Paul had been the republican canadate I would have voted for him. I agree totally with a lot of libertarian views and support LGBT rights, recreational marijuana legalization nationwide, less involvement in foreign wars, less religous influence in government and gun rights. I think the libertarians have more in common with the republicans than the democrats so I think if we did have a libertarian canadate running for office it would just split the conservative vote and the democrats would win the election. I do view the religous as a lessor evil to those on the far left like Bernie Sanders, Ocasio Cortez, Elizabeth Warren, Correy Booker and Camala Harris. I think the atheist conservatives like me understand that we unfortunately can’t win elections without the support of the conservative religous right wing so we cater to them to try to appease them and get their vote.

I’m am however a strong supporter of Israel as they are the only viable democracy in the Middle East and our best ally there. I also don’t think we need to maintain such a large military but we do need to keep a relatively strong one. I was always an admirer of Rand Paul who is libertarian. I do disagree strongly with Skotlandskye on her views as a vegetarian as cattle utilize grasses on marginal land that is unsuitable for farming and I feel we need to use all viable resources to be able to feed the world however I have no problem with 100% natural grass fed beef.

Trajan61 replies on Feb 2, 2019:
@kenriley Interesting reads both of them. The modern NRA and it policies were brought about by attempts by federal, local and state governments to completely ban the ownership of all guns in certain cases and also the attempt by the liberals to pack the courts with judges who don’t recognize the 2nd amendment as giving individual citizens the right to own firearms. There are several landmark cases in the US Supreme Court that have reaffirmed the rights of individual citizens on gun rights. The votes on 2 of the more recent ones were 5-4 in favor of gun rights with 5 conservative judges in favor and 4 liberal judges against. The District of Columbia versus Heller reaffirmed the right of a man living in Washington DC to possess a firearm in his own home as being protected by the 2nd amendment in defiance of the District of Columbia’s ban on the possession any guns in the city by private citizens. Since the District of Columbia is federal controlled it did not protect the rights of citizens in non federal areas. This was affirmed in another landmark Supreme Court case, City of Chicago versus McDonald which upheld the rights of a man living in Chicago on his gun ownership rights onced again by a 5-4 vote. As you can see our rights under the 2nd amendment continue to be protected but only by a razor thin margin. We dodge a big bullet when Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton as she would have put to judges on the US Supreme Court who would not have recognized our rights protected under the 2nd amendment. If you doubt any of this information feel free to look it up as there is quite a lot of information out there on the 2 cases. @bigpawbullets
