Last time I looked the Las Vegas gods gods favored the patriots by 5 points. The Big Bang for me is the most sensible explanation for the beginning of the universe. However I don’t think anyone knows all the answers. We atheist can’t prove there are no higher powers but by the same token neither can the theist prove a higher power exist. Hell there’s no evidence for most of what’s in the bible or Koran except the bible or Koran! Religion just doesn’t make any sense. Maybe eventually but it will definitely take awhile. Unfortunately religious organizations have enormous power and it’s going to take awhile to overcome that. If we were to fall on hard times it would take even longer as people tend to become more religious during wars or other disasters.

I’m also a conservative atheist myself but have some views that are more liberal. I think marijuana should be legal for recreational use nationwide. I also fully support a woman’s right to an abortion in the first 20 weeks of pregnancy and longer if the woman’s life is in danger or there is something wrong with the baby like Down syndrome. I’m also a strong Trump supporter, very pro gun and a life member of the NRA. I believe in protecting the environment but I think common sense needs to come into play. Obama’s clean power plan was overreach and also unconstitutional as he did it without congressional approval. Taxing cow gas is also ludricous.

Here in America we have the 2nd amendment which gives us the right to bear arms. It disturbs me that the liberals have made every attempt to strip us of those rights with their appointment of liberal judges on the US Supreme Court. They have been unsuccessful thought especially with Trump appointing Gorsush to the Supreme Court. Had Clinton been elected it’s likely the second amendment would have been overturned as there were already 4 judges on the bench that believed the second amendment did not apply to private citizens. As it stands now I can legally carry a loaded firearm in 38 states and if concealed carry reciprocity passes I will be able to carry in all 50.

There was a history professor in college who was a retired lieutenant colonel from the army and had spent time in Germany shortly after the war and he was a fascinating teacher. He told us that some of the German cities had so many men killed that the women outnumbered the men as much as 25 to one and that was a great place to be as a young man.

The gun is probably the best tool we have available at the moument for ending our life when we have reached the point of not having any quality of life. Unfornately some people only make half hearted attempts and end up just badly hurting themselves but done correctly the gun is a quick and painless way of ending your life. I knew a pharmacist once who had terminal cancer who even with his access to a multitude of drugs ended his life by putting a short barreled 12 gauge shotgun in his mouth and pulled the trigger. Seems he trusted the shotgun more than he trusted drugs.

I favor full legalization as we have enough people in jail already. It’s ludicrous to put someone in jail for using pot. I do favor cracking down on people for dealing bad addictive drugs like meth, heroin and the opioids. After the 3rd offense for those drugs they should be shot.

I’m a country person myself as I love the outdoors and working on my cattle ranch. I’d just as soon avoid big cities as much as possible except for an occasional visit. Here in western Oklahoma it’s pretty sparsely populated with my nearest neighbors about 3/8 mile over the hill from me. Oklahoma people are great people even though some are a little on the religious side and a liberal democrat hasn’t carried here since LBJ won here in 1964. Trump is very popular here and their are a lot of Pro Gun NRA people here.

I’m a life member of the NRA as is my son and 2 grandsons. My son is also a gun dealer. Everyone who owns firearms and believes in the 2nd amendment should be a member of the NRA as without this organization our rights on guns would have been stripped away by radical gun control nuts like Obama and Clinton. Obama with his obsession with gun control frightened law abiding gun owners and the NRA membership expanded considerably during the 8 years of his term. Without the NRA I doubt we’d have any right to carry a gun for self Defense, own a handgun or for that matter own any kind of semiautomatic weapon. I think your way high on the agnostic community being anywhere close to 25% of the US population. I’ve lived here in western Oklahoma all my life and only have 2 openly atheist friends. Here where I live people were so disgusted with the democrats Trump carried my hometown with 87% of the vote and all 77 counties in my home state with about 70% of the vote. Even though I am atheist and don’t like the religious influence in the Republican Party I fully support Trump as I think the country will do a lot better as he’s a businessman and knows how to stimulate the economy. The overwhelming majority of the religious people are just practicing religion because of tradition anyway so I have no problem with most of them.

Here in the US disability payments are abused severely. There are so many people who would rather sit on their ass and draw a disability check than work and if they do work they demand cash because if they make to much they will lose their disability check. Welfare is abused badly also. Many people on welfare are drug or alcohol abusers. I If your banning plastic bags how do you bag up your trash and take it to the dump? Myself I live in the country a ways from town and put my trash in plastic bags, haul it to town and put it in the city dumpster, a right for which I pay for.

No I haven’t been divorced but my wife of 42 years and I have agreed not to discuss religion as she is somewhat religious and I am a strong atheist. I don’t go to church with her anymore and she doesn’t press me to go. We just recognize that people have their differences and religion is one of ours so everything is going great. However she is by no stretch a religious fanatic like some people I know who seem to put their religion above their family or it might not go so well.
