I am a Phoenix, Arizona Native. I like the desert, the climate, and not the red state politics. I went to college in Kansas at a tiny Christian liberal arts college. I studied history and mathematics. Immediately after college, I went on to grad school in cultural anthropology at the University of Arizona. I got my masters degree. After my masters degree, I spent time in Egypt teaching English to Coptic Christians as a religious volunteer. When I came back, I went back to the U of A for my PhD, but I wound up dropping out of the program, after doing field work in Jordan. I got very good at Arabic.

After about a decade, I went back to school, getting a masters in information management, and slightly later, a certificate of completion in computer programming.
