I do occasional Public debates with Priests, Bishops, Ministers of Religion and the like. I am, of course, the one who stands firmly on the side of Reason, Logic and Atheism, I've had the 'faithfools' racking their religion sodden brains for response to my points so many times I've lost count and have had the 'faithfools' in the audiences often hurl threats of damnation at me, as well as the odd article of footwear, eggs, etc, EVEN a bible as well. I can honestly say that never once have I actually either lost a debate or had one end in a tied situation, I've actually had, on numerous occasions, members of the ' clergy' either come up to me and congratulate me for knowledge of religion/s, bible 'history' and the ancient and historical sources upon which the bible has been so loosely 'based.' Some of my most favorite memories are the 5 members of the clergy, all at sperate times I might add, who later met up with me to tell that my debates so impacted upon their beliefs that they began to question them and decided to reject them totally as being little more than " fireside mythologies taken completely out of their realms and used as tools to control the masses."

What's next? Do we see a movement where the Vegans start threatening omnivores with being burned at the steak (stake), threatened with an Eternity condemned to being tortured by the Great and Fiery Tofu Demon and all his Red Hot Chili Demons?

I wonder is there a connection between the suppression of the one god religion in Egypt and the alleged exodus of many to begin their monotheistic religion in Canaan.
Triphid replies on Jan 2, 2019:
It has been suggested quite often that the monotheistic ideology of Akhenaten ( Amenhotep IV) was the origin of the Hebrew/Abrahamic religions in the first place, considering the FACT that the nomadic Hebrew tribes seemed to 'take turns' in entering Egypt to beg for food and shelter on a very regular basis. The Levites, of course, were the known mercenaries of the region and sold their services to Egypt thus becoming the Sentry Guards at the Goshen entrance point to Egypt, later to be expelled, all 600+ of them for acts of Arson, Slave trading, Extortion and robberies of Trade Caravans head towards Egypt and since the Egyptian Law of Ma'at ( the Law of Universal Peace and Harmony) prohibited punishing Non-Egyptians by executions, etc, it was decided that they should be Expelled and Exiled eternally from Egypt immediately and without recourse. Most certainly the Levites would have taken this monotheistic ideology with them as the left, seeing it as means to an end amongst their own kind.

I have and it is HORRIFIC to say the very least. The faeces of domestic cats in particular are the primary source of Toxoplasmosis, a disease most often fatal to pregnant women and young babies/children. IF people want to keep cats as pets then they SHOULD be subject to the same legal requirements as are dog owners, i.e. the cat MUST be registered and micro-chipped, either kept indoors at ALL times or, IF and when allowed outside, it MUST be housed in an escape proof run to stop it from straying, etc.

I always get a good laugh when a Theist TRIES to tell me what a perfect example of Gods' Design humans are. After I've suppressed the urge to laugh loudly I come back with some of the following which really puts the Theist on the back foot; Yes, such a Great Design that; a) God put the birth canal mere millimetres away from the waste/sewage outlet, oh so very hygienic an idea that one, b) created eyes that cannot see well in darkness and deteriorate almost from birth, c) human babies are born with heads that are much bigger than the birth canal thus requiring, quite often, that the birth canal needs suturing after it either tears or needs to actually be cut to allow the passage of the head, d) created reptiles that can ACTUALLY re-grow lost limbs BUT his greatest achievements can't, wonderful planning that, e) creates animals that can give birth to multiple young at a time and more than once per year where the Greatest Achievement can only manage, most times, a SINGLE birth every TWELVE months or so and the offspring is TOTALLY helpless and dependent upon the mother for at least the first 5 or more years of its life, great forward thinking and planning went into that one, and last but by no means least, f) a little thing known as the appendix, attached at the end of the small intestine, that is virtually useless, gets infected quite easily, can burst if unattended to thus causing a very agonizing death. Yes, IF this God you worship and idolize was a Design Engineer in this day and age, it would be very lucky IF it could manage to get a job as a Ditch Digger.

@JackPedigo Well, I have a ThD in Theology and comparative Modern Religions, a Bachelors Degree in both Ancient and Modern History, plus a few more Degrees, and one of my main areas of great interest are the roman Empire in the Middle East post Gaius Julius Caesar and Ancient Egypt. And, as we all know, the Romans were, undoubtedly, FANATICAL record keepers about literally everything they did, where, when, how, why and to whom it happened YET there is absolutely NO mention of Hebrew( Jewish) Messiah known as Yeshua(Jesus) of Nazareth nor his 'exploits'/execution by crucifixion by a Roman Governor called Pontius Pilate ( who, btw, was recalled to Rome from Pontus, not Judaea/Galilee in 21 C.E., then it is correct in saying that the biblical Yeshua bin/ibn/bar Yusef ( Jesus son of Joseph) did NOT exist, BUT a Yeyoshua bin Yusef was captured, tried and executed along with 2 of his ' lieutenants' for the crimes of Arson, Sedition, Theft, Murder, Rape and Pillage, Slave Trading, etc, etc, and the remainder of the band of 13 were sent to spend their days as Galley Slaves. Please read the history of the Flavians written by Flavius Josephus ( previously a Jew taken as a slave to the Flavian family AFTER he turned TRAITOR to his OWN people and was later given his freedom by the Flavians). You MAY plainly see that the entire myth was a creation by Flavius Josephus to ' curry' favour with his adoptive family and a necessary 'step-up' the ladder to deification as per the Roman way.

Ancestry.com I' sorry to say is a bit of a joke in my opinion. A few years ago, after tracing my paternal line back as far as I possibly could go, I tried Ancestry.com and they came up with something entirely different and 100% incorrect. Their result was that my paternal line arose from a Wilhelm from a very small village in southern Austria when I still have a document sealed with the seal of William the Conqueror acknowledging the birth, although out of marriage, of his son by a Myffanwyy, a serving girl at his Court post 1066, from the region of Wales now called Glamorgan, ( the Pontypridd region) Wales which is exactly where my paternal Grandparents and their parents, Grand-Parents and predecessors all come from originally.
