Yes, when my best friend, pictured below, Charlie was around and needed worming, etc, all I needed to do was have the medication in one hand, a bowl of black tea with 2 sugars on the floor, one of his favourite treats ready and the pill in the other hand. He'd happily swallow the pill because he knew that the treats came next. As you can see from the photo, he resented getting a bath any time, but the day I took that photo we had just return home for an hour of walking in the bushlands where HE had discovered a dead and smelly goat carcass and decided to collect some of the aroma for himself.

Very tempted to start using an old method I once saw in an outback Hotel in Central Australia. There was the lone rock, about the size of baseball suspended under a sign on the veranda of Hotel. The sign said, " Weather rock, if rocks wet, it is raining, if it's dry, it's sunny, if rock is swaying it's bloody windy, if rock is on ground, string has broken, please repair string." Probably as accurate as any Weather Forecasts available these days imo.

" The Bible, the words of god written by the hand of God and given to the Hebrews by God himself, that IS all the evidence we need." I know it sounds trite, dismissive, etc, etc, but when they roll that tired old chestnut, my usual responses are, " So God gets the Royalties for EVRY copy of the bible printed and sold then does he?" " How could that be since the Printing Press was NOT invented until AFTER the first bible was written by a team of Scribes living in different countries on different continents in the 4th. century C.E.?" and, the one that really sets their heads spinning, " So where is the signature of God to prove that it was his work and not that of someone faking things instead?"

Triphid replies on Mar 12, 2022:
Er, I think I may have helped karma along a bit because I was later on chatting with a good friend about it all and forgot that she still works part-time with the Department of Social Security. The conversation started off with her asking for a bit of friendly advice from a friend and Psychologist re- a report received late last week regarding a person driving a silver/light grey Mitsubishi Triton Utility with a canopy that only cover about 2/3 of the rear of its cargo space that was originally design as a Utility type vehicle, when she mentioned the vehicle registration number the penny dropped and it must have been extremely obvious because she looked at me over her coffee and then smiled and said, " You know exactly who I am talking about don't you?" I've NEVER been able to lie and all I could say in reply was stammering " Yes, I, ah, do actually but please keep your voice because the person in question lives next door and has better ears than an elephant when it comes to ear-wigging on the private conversations of his neighbours." And so we departed to go for a drive and to talk more in private, I mentioned asking him to mow my lawn and do a bit of weeding and that I fully intended to pay him $50.00 in cash, $20 at the start and $ 30 when finished to MY satisfaction. She asked if he had accepted the deal or had started on the mowing and weeding but I told her the rest of the story, etc, etc, and she merely asked, " If push comes to shove, would you be willing to give an anonymous statement to the Department regarding this matter?" I agreed BUT ONLY if I could remain COMPLETELY anonymous. She then revealed that the Department have been after him for just over 7 months thus far and are still delving through his D.S.S. records, etc, as well since they believe he has cheating on the system for at least 7 of the 10 years that he has lived here as well as the months when he has been claiming Unemployment Benefits and report that he has been over on the East coast visit his mother and family.

@Barnie2years Yes, they are known as FERAL Dogs here in Australia and are as big a pest as are rabbits, foxes, cats, goats, cane toads and other imported pest which also, imo, should include quite a number of Politicians as well. Up until the " Bleeding -heart Animal Rights Activists got so popular, more like imo, hopped PERMANENT in to bed with a great lot of politicians, we had laws that gave the Land-owners on Grazing/Farming Properties the rights to either shot these feral pests themselves and claim the bounties or simply give approval and permission for selected persons to do the job for them. But that is no longer allowed because it upsets the Bleeding-heart Activists so we have these pests running amok everywhere and almost anywhere destroying the Environment, killing off the Native Species of both Fauna and Flora, etc, etc.

@Barnie2years Excuse my apparent cynicism, etc, here BUT what the name of F**k have you been reading regard Aussie Dingoes? Let one who HAS a number of dingoes for pets, they are NOT a threat to humans as such, the BIG Threat via canine type breeds going troppo as we often say out here, are the FERAL dogs, either domesticated and then turned loose or those bred in homes as a littler of pups, unwanted by the owner/s of the female parent and then dumped out in the bush to live or die. On average, out of an unwanted and duped litter of 4 pups, 2 may well survive but ONLY if their eyes and ears are open and they can scavenger for foods such as grubs, worms, carcases of other dead animals and even the carcases of their dead siblings as well. They, not the Dingoes so much, are the BIGGEST threat to livestock and often even people in the Australian Outback and more often than not they will kill the male dingo and then breed with his female mate before moving on again en-masses. But hey, it is NOT your fault that you are confused by the actual facts, after you are in Mother England and the facts get screwed up as they try to cross the miles of open oceans do they not?

Triphid replies on Mar 10, 2022:
@Betty Well cats are NOT native in Australia, for the most part they either came as pets with early Squatters (aka English Land Grabbers) as did the rats for example, then had kittens, which a female cat do quite easily, usually once the previous litter is approx. 3-4 weeks old btw. 1 tom-cat, male cat btw, can impregnate up 4 females in one single night, so the average size of the next generation can range anywhere between a maximum of 6 kittens per litter EVERY 12 weeks from just 1 single female or multiply that by 4 and you will get a very astonishing answer. Plus, here in Australia cats have no REAL known Apex Predators to worry about either. Especially since the family of Azaria Chamberlain introduced the Dingoes to Seventh Day Adventist babies are a food source....LOL. Btw, that is intended FULLY as a joke because despite all the media hype, etc, FINANCED by the Seventh Day Adventist Church NO-ONE has EVER proven conclusively that it was a Dingo that stole, killed and eat baby Azaria near a camp-site in the vicinity of Ayers Rocks back in the early 80,s.

Back then , in the late 60's and early 70's we would get a reward of $2.50 per cat scalp and the same for a fox scalp PLUS $2.50 per fox tail and cat tail from the Graziers in the area as well. We'd call it a piss poor weekend IF we ever made less than $ 15.00 each out an expedition to hunt feral cats and foxes.

It soon had very quick change of heart and mind when 'business end' of the stock whip (made from actual Bullock hide btw) caught genetic material reservoirs in quick succession twice. I still think the dogs rear end nearly cracked the sound barrier as it tried to pass the head end.

When his driving wheels sunk inti the creek sand and he came to a halt, he climbed out of the car and DEMANDED that I help get his car out Or he'd give me a " thumping," I stood my ground, he to a swing at me missed and after a quick upper-cut to the jaw and left hook to the chin, it was he who was kissing the dirt and not me. After he managed to get back on his feet, he very humbly apologized and set about extracting his car while I continued on loading MY firewood into the trailer we had also brought with us.

You think they would ban the perpetrator and not the messenger. But here we are.

That would be and happen in world that isn't under, imo, the very shady control of Mark Sookieboy and his hand-picked and regularly hand-stimulated squad of sycophants.
