@Mooolah I know about that Law, we have similar here as well. I made applications to have my home and yard declared as a 'Private Native animal Sanctuary' about a year ago, I struck it lucky and have no gotten FULL Approval. Oh, and btw, Lady E, like most raptors, has very sharp and long talons. Most handlers of Eagles need to wear thick, protective Gauntlets when letting these birds land on their arms, not so with Lady E, she has learned to use ONLY the thick pads on her 'feet' to hold onto my arms and even my shoulders as well and keeps her long sharp talons well away from my skin thankfully. She is even more gentle when my nephew, 7 year old Henry, is around, she actually perches softly on his arm or legs so he can pat her, stroke her head and neck like she was some strange kind of domesticated house pet. Young Henry loves Lady E and has often 'requested' that his parents should get him his own Wedge-tailed Eagle so " he can take it to school for Show and Tell." Surprisingly for Henry and his Class, his wish kind of came true last August when Lady E and I turned up at his school unexpectedly after I had received my 'Sanctuary' Approval and permission to, when and wherever possible, to 'take her to show her to School Kids.' I'm not quite sure who actually got the most out of that visit, the kids and teachers or Lady E and the extra snacks offered to her by the kids.

@Rossy92 Well is not DEATH the ultimate outcome for everything that lives? This planet may quite well be swallowed up by the Sun in about 5 or so Billion years, or it may just as well be burnt to a crisp BUT what we do TODAY echoes through out time. There is NO Planet B reachable by Human kind in either OUR life-times, those of our Children or, probably, those of our Grand-children given our somewhat 'primitive' modes of space travel. What would rather do, a) let your dwelling become completely inhabitable then merely burn it down and TRY to re-build it, OR, act now, clean it up and live in it again?

@Mooolah I do NOT claim to actually own any of my native 'friends' who I shelter when they need it, etc. Like ALL the others, Lady E is free to come and go as she wishes as are those pictured below, even though those 2 have freedom to roam at will they have chosen that, so it seems anyway, a home range where there's a choice of either hunting around for meals or cadging the occasional ' freebie' from this strange two legged animal, me, is far better than struggling to survive in the middle of nowhere. These are but 3 of wild, sort of, native animal friends/visitors/occasional yard guests. On the left is Joanna the Goanna, a kind of permanent 'resident now for over 10 years, she has made friends with about 90% of the neighbourhood by clearing out snails from gardens and has recently 'discovered that the space beneath the slab where my fireplace is and the ground under the house makes for fine 'winter accommodations' for a reptile. In the centre is a relatively 'new' arrival, Little Miss Spikey' a Pygmy Echidna, she 'moved in' about 18 months ago and on the right is 'Nosey,' the Emu who seems to have decided during the last drought that my gardens are her own personal Supermarket. She has developed a taste for fresh lemons from my Lemon tree, rose petals, rose leaves and half ripe Nectarines as well. @AnneWimsey WHAT, you've never heard of the Aussie special, aka Cheeseslaw? Okay, recipe coming up. Take 6 large carrots, remove tops and bottoms, peel them, then grate them into a mixing bowl, Add a few very generous hands full of Shredded Cheese ( I prefer to use either 4 Cheeses Bake or another mix of cheeses), add salt and pepper to taste, Blend them all together using a fork. then add diced Gherkins and diced Pickled Onions, about 4-6 of each, blend those in with Carrot and cheeses mix. Take 1 can of Condensed Milk (opened of course), 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of Mustard powder, the juice of 1 lemon, about 50-60 mils of white vinegar, place all into a re-sealable jar/container, stir contents until they reach a creamy, smooth mixture, add 3-4 tablespoons full to the carrot/cheese, gherkin and onions mix, stir in well, spoon mix into another re-sealable container/s then let cool in fridge until you want to serve it. Now you have Aussie Cheeseslaw AND Home-made Mayonnaise left over as well. Kept refrigerated the Cheeseslaw will last for about 2-3 days IF you can stop yourself and the kids from eating it all at once that is, the mayonnaise will last for up to about 1 month. Toasted Cheeseslaw sandwiches are a great and easy tasty snack, Cheeseslaw as a side-dish goes great with other salads as well and can be a real favourite at barbeques also.

@Rossy92 I use the analogy of sorts that like a stone dropped into a pool of water the vibrations ( waves) it causes travel on until they dissipate or reach the sides of the pool and are reflected back. Hence, what we do today 'ripples' its way through time until it too either dissipates or is reflected back. E.g. a small earthquake under the ocean can often cause a massive Tsunami to travel hundreds or even thousands of miles across the ocean/sea and come crashing into another land causing death and destruction to all kinds of fauna and flora, i.e. Cause and Effect. So, for my little part in the wide scheme of things, for EVERY dead and fallen tree that I harvest for firewood each winter, I plant at least 2 seedlings to replace it.

@DenoPenno So, in essence, the impression I get from your reply is that we should continue on as always rather than using our heads, having a Democratic Vote to come to an agreed/agreeable consensus over having 2 simple definitions, i.e. the meanings of being either an Atheist or an Agnostic, carry on butting heads together and appearing to the religious world as being a poor emulation of themselves and their interminable debate over their Imaginary Invisible God and which of whose God is the TRUE God then? Yes, everyone can still have their very own viewpoints, since NOT to allow that, for example, would BE akin to being somewhat like a Dictatorship would it not, but We are striving for Logic, Reasoning, Understanding, etc, AND a Democratic based Fellowship of sorts in our community are we not? So then, why should we NOT take the first step and PROVE we can do what others have thus far failed to do miserably?

@dalefvictor Actually and Historically, Israel was CREATED under the Balfour Accord drawn during the Turkish Expulsion from Palestine, Syria, etc, during W.W.I. It remained as Palestine until late 1946-7 when the Allies were at odds as what to do with the Jewish peoples released from the Nazi Concentration camps, it was then decided that instead of housing them in the U.S. England, France, etc, it would better to enact the clauses of the Balfour Accord, claim a part of Palestine and hand it over to the Jews, free of charges/recompense from the Palestinians.
