Here in Australia we have a small patch of a plant from the Jurassic times still growing, it is called the Woollemi pine. It does not grow everywhere, is so rare that the exact region where it grows is high protected in a National Park.
Triphid replies on Jul 17, 2020:
For anyone who may be interested the pictures below are of the Wollemi pines found growing in Australia and were discovered in 1994. It has been determined, scientifically, that these 'Dinosaur Trees' were growing in Australia during the Jurassic Era and herbivorous Dinosaurs most probably eat them.

@FrayedBear Look FB, I HAVE the blood and heritage of 2 (Two) Native Australian Clans in my veins as well as about 10+ or more other nationalities as well. By many of the Paakandji, the Myall Creek and the Channel Country peoples I AM considered as an Elder of their Clans and NOT merely due to my age either. My paternal Great, Great Grandfather, many times removed, married the daughter of the Cherokee Chief, Stone Bear, they had 3 sons and a daughter, 2 sons returned to Wales where they joined his other sons in running the Trading Shipping Company from Cardiff that Royston Stanley ( his 2 first names btw) had left to them, one of their Great Grandsons, also many times removed, was sent to Australia on the First Fleet for poaching a rabbit on the very fringes of the Estate of an English Nobleman to help feed his hungry siblings. He, Royston John, from whom I got my middle name, later rescued a group of Survivors of the Myall Creek Massacre and married one of the women, her 'English' name was Elizabeth Mary btw. At approx. 12 years of age I was adopted by Aboriginal Lore and Rites, and with the consent of my paternal father, into the Clan of the Channel Country Peoples by Djakidjera ( Jack) Murray and his wife, hence I AM both a member of that Clan and also an Elder, a Keeper and Teacher of the Lore as well.

I won't say they saw eye to eye all of the time, our personalities would often clash, as parents and their kids seemed to do, but we shared the same sense of humour, would find newer ways to 'prank' each other. For example, she was at school on the day of the Custody Hearing, very anxiously awaiting the good or the bad result. When it was all over, I went to collect her from school, as she came towards me I hung my head in pretended sorrow, she came up to me hugged me and asked what had happened so I answered, " I'm sorry Bigfoot, BUT the Judge decided that you are going to have to live me and only have to go out to see your mother every second weekend, I guess we'll have to live with that now." She looked at me, started to shuffle her feet and then started shouting, " You beauty, I'm going to live with you Dad, that's great."

The Brits were sent in to STOP the Jews from driving the resident Palestinians from their homes and lands by force of arms and attacking the Palestinians UNTIL the 1948-49 Accord could be agreed to and ratified WITHOUT the Palestinians even being invited to comment on it. C) I was born and raised here, I've travelled through this region more times than you've had hot showers, worked on Sheep Stations, driven trucks loaded with everything from Groceries through to cases of Nitro-glycerin, D) the soil here is very thin in most places, the native scrub is normally made up of Spinafex grasses, short, stubby, hardy Acacia type bushes, Bluebush and Saltbush, Paterson's curse, Spear Grasses and the ONLY large trees that grow around here are the Creek Gums, the She-oaks, Mulga and the very rare and occassional Malee and Coolabah, oh and let's not forget that acursed African Box Throrns and Prickly Pears as well, E) dig down about 6-10 inches anywhere in the bush and you will hit ROCKS, hard tough rocks in layers often feet thick, As to me pointing the blame at nterstate Truckies, you went right up the WRONG creek there, YOU add the link where it POINTED the blame at the Truckies, NOT me so get your facts right for a bloody chsnge. If it had been one of the Hodgkins Lymphoma types the chances of making a Full permanent recovery would have in the high 90% range but Non-Hodgkins plus being in her mid-teens cut the chances down to around 60% for Full Recovery, 35% against, then adding in the lateness in which it was diagnosed, thanks to a lazy G.P., the chances went down eeven further to approx. less 20% for and 80+% against but we did NOT give up. She, with me at her side 24/7, went through the harshest Chemo Protocol available for 9 months, went into remission, return to High School, sat for and passed her Year 10 Exams and the bastard cancer returned even worse in December, 2000, destroyed all of her Bone Marrow ( no chance of a Bone Marrow transplant because she was so badly weakened by then) and I lost her on January, 7th. 2001 at 6.35pm.

@FrayedBear Laugh as I know you will BUT at least, knock on wood, the infection rates elsewhere in Australia are nowhere near as high as Victoria's so far. As for the relative size of the State of Victoria versus Melbourne, well yes Melbourne may be smaller but the population is more closely packed together which is an ideal situation for cross-infection by Covid-19 btw and now, imo, being greatly enhanced by Victorians, aka Mexicans/Cabbage Farmers, choosing to both ignore the restrictions AND refusing to be Tested as well. Yes, our Health Department did err when they failed to test those leaving that Cruise Ship, but our infection rate dropped exponentially UNTIL the outbreak in Victoria arose and it was spread across the border.

The Pelvis, though it may seem to be, is NOT just one bone but a combination of bones making up the Pelvic Girdle. It consists of the Sacro-Iliac and the 2 Ileum sections that actually fuse together though remaining somewhat 'flexible' especially in women in the few years after the child is born. FFS, Surgical intervention, pinning and traction ARE the ONLY remedies for a Fractured Pelvis.

It was only when the G.P. brought in a Locum so HE could go on a holiday that the Locum took one look and ordered Blood Tests to be done immediately and be marked as being "For Urgent Attention" that we got a result at last.

As hominids expanded into the more northerly regions of Europe and Asia the lower levels of sunlight and UV rays would slowly caused the levels of melatonin to drop, bringing about the paling of the skin thus allowing them absorb more sunlight and create from it the very necessary Vitamin D levels for survival.

@WilliamFleming "Pants and a shirt" you say, way, way off the mark there Sport. Yes, Aussie Aboriginals can communicate over very long distances BUT they used to use a 'device' commonly called by the European Settlers known as a "Bull-Roarer," i.e. a carved piece of hardwood, flat on one side, slightly curved on the other with a thin strip of leather or animal sinew attached at one end and spun around in vertical circles in alternating clock-wise and counter-clock-wise directions as seen and used in the film " Crocodile Dundee 2." Of course there was, also, the superstitious belief of "Singing'a person to Death that was assumed to be done at times over great and vast distances but that is baloney and is usually the result of the 'victim' having a Guilty Conscience to start with anyway. And YES, the tales of native Kadiachamen /women are true BUT they too are neither Ghosts nor Spirits, they ARE REAL people who are the 'elected' Bringers of Native Justice and that role is passed down from Father to Son, Mother to Daughter through the generations. The Kadiacha wear shoes made from Emu skins complete with the feathers so as to leave NO footprints as they walk, they will leave a message, usually a number of white stones depicting the number of 'moons' (nights) left before they WILL arrive and 1 black stone to depict the day/night when they will execute the sentence passed for the crime committed. Plus most Aboriginal petroglyphs/cave arts are depictions of animals to hunted, animals that may NEVER been hunted and eaten for Totemic reasons, the tracks, trails to be walked and where the best camping sites and water sources can be found. They do NOT use 'Remote Viewing' at all btw.

Is it really any wonder why these God-botherers NEVER seem to win the Lotteries, I mean they can't even predict when the world will end so how are they going to 'predict' the winning numbers. I predict that somewhere around 5-6 billion years from now that the Sun will have used up all of its ...

Sure, and the world was supposed to end in the year 1,000, after "A thousand years of Christ's reign." Then there was Oct. 22, 1844, when, OOPs! Reverend Miller, of upstate NY, had to recalculate, twice. How about May 11, 2015? that's the day the Tennessee radio pastor who claimed to have ...

@BirdMan1 Tried it but still prefer Beef, Sheep, 'Roo, Wombat, Chicken ( NOT the Aussie Bushchook, aka Emu, though, way too oily) though.
Have you ever wondered why Donald tRump buys his shoes and socks from England and not America?

Aussie humour. Dont you love it. Here is another :- A British man is visiting Australia. The customs agent asks him, “Do you have a criminal record?” The British man replies, “I didn’t think you needed one to get into Australia anymore.”

@Moravian We love the Scots, the Irish (Paddies), the 'Taffies' (Welsh), in fact most nationalities including the 'lower class Pommies' as well, it's in our nature I suppose but those stuck-up self-righteous, Upper and Middle Class, Pommies, Egocentric Texan Seppos and the Aussies who deny their 'Convict heritage' out-right really get up our noses big time. Yeah my paternal line here comes from a relative, long dead now, who was shipped here in chains as a 13 year old for the "dashed audacity" of poaching a mangy rabbit to help feed his hungry family from the Estate of a British Lord. Plus 2 Uncles who served in WWII both with the Brits in Africa, one at Tobruk and later in Europe, the other at Kokoda and in the islands with, in his words, " those bloody useless Seppos." Both of them got S.F.A. for their sacrifices btw. Me, I'm bloody proud that I had a 'convict' ancestor and 2 Uncles who fought in WWII.
A little something in memory of my son, Joel Adam, still-born at 24 weeks on this day in 1980.

I'm sorry to hear about your son. Condolences.

Thanks m8, I get 2 sad days every July, the 8th and the 12th, Joel's birthday and passing and Lorrae's birthday plus one on the 7th of every January when Lorrae passed. But time has eased things slowly but not healed the wounds and I doubt that it ever will.
