@Jetty Absolutely EVERYTHING contained in the compendium of Myths, Legends, Fireside Stories, etc, etc, known as the Bible can be traced back, simply and easily, to Cultures and Civilisations that pre-date the bible by well over 2,000+ years. Using the simplest of logic anyone with even half a brain can ferret out the blatant and utter falsehoods of both Historical and Familial Lineages, etc, it claims to be real and indisputable. Let us look at just a few examples, A) The bible claims to be able to trace the Familial Lineage of this Yeshua/Yeyeshua/Jesus, from Galilee no less, through to David and even back to Abraham himself, correct? No, in the times to which it refers when NO birth records, etc, were actually kept AND Galilee was a seperate region to Judaea then it would be logically impossible to accurately date ones familial lineage back as far as they claim. B) Exodus, Claiming that the Jews, were Slaves in Egypt for approx. 400 years when Actual Slavery was a breach of the Egyptian Rule of Maat ( the Rule of Universal Harmony) plus there is no mention of any monuments, like the Pyramids for example, which wee well known throughout the Middle East at the time and the Pyramids were built and finished approx. some 1,000 years prior. So, definitely a NO there PLUS it claims to have occurred DURING the Reign of Rameses the Great, i.e. Entirely wrong King and period to start with as has been historically prove time and time again. C) the O.T. claims that the Gospels of the Apostles WERE written by those Apostles, ergo, how can that be since ONLY 1 so-claimed Apostle was actualy literate enough to write and he, presumably was a Tax Collector for the Roman Emperor anyway.
America is drunk on a warped idea of freedom, and now it's killing people.

To that Sir, I'd say Bullshit in extremis. Australia went into National Borders Lockdown situations A.S.A.P. then State Borders were closed, Social Distance Rules came into being just as quick, etc, etc. Our Infection rate is way lower than anywhere else, our Death Toll is far less than 1% of any other country in the world BECAUSE our Government listened to the Medical Advice and acted upon it IMMEDIATELY. IMO, your Blithering, Dithering, Self-Righteous, Egocentric, Ego-maniacal piss-poor excuse of a PoTUS is the prime cause of the Death and Infection Tolls the U.S. is racking up on a daily basis simply because, imo, he'd be hard pressed to tell his arse from his elbow on any given day of the year.

@azzow2 I can still remember, quite vividly, when going fishing with my father for Yabbies and catching yabbies as big as 26 fluid ounce Beer bottles, no joke either btw, with sets of claws the size of bolt-cutters. Back in those days, the 60's, it was not unusual to haul in your 'drop nets' and find them almost chock full of huge yabbies but these days, with the over-fishing caused by Victorians, mostly, coming up here, catching and cooking every yabbie they can get, even the females carrying eggs, the only places to get good sized ones now are those that Graziers have seeded their dams with to keep the dams clean of rotting vegetable matter and such.

@Lilac-Jade Too right. And I reckon at least 80% of Broken Hill (Pop. approx. 19,000) is now living on a 'knife edge' after we copped an influx of Victorian Tourists here last weekend. Since this Covid thing first hit our shores, Broken Hill has ONLY had 2 confirmed cases and they were brought in from outside of our region and were quarantined quick smart, since then we've been a Covid Clear Declared Zone. Who knows how many/IF any of these Tourists last weekend brought in with them. Imo, the 'reason' behind the influx was patently obvious when I went to get my groceries last Tuesday, the Toilet Paper shelves in the Supermarket were quite depleted yet again.

Why is diesel more expensive than petrol when diesel is (a) cheaper to produce, (b) diesel vehicles are far more fuel efficent, (c) less polluting atmospherically speaking than petrol vehicles and (d) easier and cheaper to maintain, etc. WHY, if the Governments want to lessen, etc, pollution from Coal Fired Power Stations, etc, have they repeatedly reduced the rebate from home Solar Power Panels? The only personwho ever knew what had happened to me was my daughter, Lorrae, whom I told when she finally informed me as to her being abused, physically, by her mother's boyfriend on a weekend access visit, and only then because she couldn't comprehend how I was so compassionate, understanding and say that I knew what she was feeling.

@snytiger6 Yep, I already knew that and just as in German, for example, the 'v' is pronounced with the sounds of an 'f', 'w' is pronounced as a 'v' sound, in Latin 'j' is written as an 'I' hence the 'I.N.R.I' inscription the Xrstians have on their favourite necklaces and means Iesus Nazarem Rex Iudea. The nuances of languages are as many as the grains of sand on a beach, in English, for another example we use 'silent' letters in words such a the 'p' in pseudo, pneumatic, etc, etc, the 'w' in write, wreck, wrought, etc, etc.

And the Churches profitted from them each time by merely siezing the properties, etc, of the victims just as it/they did with the Crusaders as well who died in battle ( slaughter more like) and could NOT repay the Loans of Funds made to them by the Churches.

@Mofo1953 Okay then, define what, in your opinion, should remain 'on the streets, etc,' from the Human History of the past and what. precisely, should be destroyed? How about the Liberty Bell, the White House, the Staue of Liberty, the miles upon miles of railway tracks that weave their way across the U.S. that were, for the most part, built by Chinese workers working in almost slave like conditions for example, and why stop there, destroy every symbol of the Christian Religion, it too promoted Slavery via the Interpretations of the Bible, were not the 'Founding Fathers' of the U.S. also Slave Owners, wipe their memories out whilst you are at it. Then let's talking about the U.S. making reparations to ALL the descendants of Slaves shall we, how much are you Non-whites going to offer them? @LiterateHiker Actually we do both exhale and inhale Carbo Dioxide no matter whether we wear a mask or not, it is the natural process of breathing. BUT we also EXHALE more Oxygen than Carbon Dioxide as well since our lungs ONLY draw a certain amount of Oxygen from every breath we take. That is why Space Capsules have filtering systems that absorb the Carbon Dioxide and recycle the Oxygen while also adding a small percentage of fresh oxygen to the recycled air as well.

@AstralSmoke My life, as I see it is pretty much okay but I will continue to 'fight' for the Rights, Needs, etc, of ALL others, including Atheists/Agnostics, etc, whilst there is still a breath in my body. When I was 16 and a High School student, we were stuck in classes of between 30-40 students, in room inside 'transportable' buildings made from timber and corrugated iron with NO heating in winter and No cooling in summer and suffered with winter temps. ranging between 10 and 3 degrees Celsius daily and summer temps. ranging from the HIGH twenties to the HIGH thirties Celsius. We were also expected and forced twice per school day to stand to attention en-mass in a Quadrangle with NO shade, surrounded on ALL 4 sides by stone buildings for School Assemblies, etc. I've lost count of the actual numbers of fellow students whom we carried away from Assemblies/Classrooms because they'd collapsed from theat or the exhaustion of standing in Assemblies. All this and often more happening in School built and intended for 1,300 student at a maximum BUT actually having 2,600+ students regularly EVER year. In 'cahoots' with a number of Teachers, I started a PUBLIC Campaign via the Newspapers, nation-wide, to bring this situation to light, organised Sit-ins at School and Student Protest Matches until FINALLY the New South Wales Government listened and started building the Second, and much needed, High School here in Broken Hill. Yes, I often faced down threats of Expulsion from school, ostracism by Authorities, etc, etc, and the 3 Teachers who helped were often threatened with the sacking and de-registration but we won. Since then I've always 'gone in to bat' for the underdogs and WILL keep on doing so since it IS duty of any decent, caring person, imo, to do so.

@skado I think you WILL find that at least 99% of ALL religions grew from the a singular point and time way way back when our earliest ancestors had absolutely no concept of the machinations of the natural world, etc, other than the migratory patterns of the prey that hunted. A prime example may be this, A clan of of early humans is assembled and dining on the latest prey they've caught, the Alpha leader gets the choicest of the meat, the rest gets shared out amongst the rest of the clan. 1 clan member, perhaps a little smarter than rest, see an opportunity to rise above the others and even, with luck, be on an equal par with the Alpha. In the distance a storm rolls in, lightning flashes, thunder roars, things shake noticably and everyone shows signs of fear, he sees that the storm is very distant from them and moving away from where they are so he steps up, mumbles incoherently, makes gestures, offers some of his food towards the storm and shouts loudly, " Take this Oh Great Spirit of the Skies and Storms if you wish but leave my people alone and in peace, I will speak for you, I will have my people worship you through me if you will do this." The storm slowly abates and moves off, as they naturally have always done, and his clam members sudddenly begin to notice even more, listen to him, obey his instructions/directions and NOW he is on a par with the Alpha Leader and can expect the choicest of cuts at every meal, demand, in the name of the Great Sky Spirit, whatever 'dedications, etc, he sees fit to demand without question SINCE he and He alone can obviously speak to and with the Great Sky Spirit. Hence, from that simple act of instilling into his clan members the superstition of there being a Great Sky Spirit comes the religion that will live and grow amongst his people and those who come along after them. So it was with ALL of the earliest civilisations, the unknown explained merely as Supreme Entities causing purely natural events, etc, etc, needing, by the gulie of one or more members of the community, appeasement in mystical words muttered and mumbled, offerings and dedications aplenty and absolute obedience to the wills and words of those who claim to be able to speak with, hear and interpret the will and words of these totally invented Gods/Goddesses/Sky Spirits/ Spirits/Gods, etc, of the earth, volcanoes, earthquakes, etc, etc. Then, some 3,000+ years ago, along comes an Egyptian King name Amenhotep IV ( Akhenaton) who realises that he is ONLY getting a portion of the goods, wealth, etc, that are made as votive offerings to the myriad of Gods and Temples, decides to change allof it, declares himself to be, not only, the Living reprentative of the one true God, the sun disc Aton, but reduces greatly the influences of ALL the other Gods and ...

All excellent points that would be wasted on the imbeciles who make those idiotic arguments

Well, one local imbecile around here where I live has sort of listened at least. I was just putting my pet Parrot out on the front veranda, in his cage of course, about 20 minutes ago when the local 'looney tune' walked past my front fence wearing, this will give you a good laugh I think, one of those full face welding helmets sans the smoked glass inserts and carrying a sign which read, " I'm safe from Covid." About 100 yards further on he walked straight in to a power pole.

I went on a Scouts camping trip to please my dad. I learned some racist poetry that night.
Triphid replies on Jun 18, 2020:
That may be so, but American Scouting had always been far different from the Scout Movement as per Baden-Powells ideas, has it not?

I never knew the Souts were a religious group. I was involved with them here in Australia when my children were small but we never had anything to do with religion, never. No prayers, no mention of God or Jesus. Is this something that is going on in other countries with the scouts?
Triphid replies on Jun 18, 2020:
In ALL my years both a Cub and then a Scout NEVER once was prayer apart of anything to do with Scouts or Scouting. As for a Mormonist influence, there was NONE what-so-ever here in Australian Scouting either. But, American Scouting IS a horse of a very different clour imo.

Former scout here. I enjoyed the organization and my father was even an assistant scout master. I never saw anything untoward or had any bad experiences at all. However one of the big justifications for starting the scouts was that Lord Baden-Powell was very against masturbation (self-abuse) by ...

An admirer of Hitler. He murdered a black chief. Founding the Boy Scouts does not excuse him. Glad his statue is coming down.
Triphid replies on Jun 18, 2020:
Err, perhaps you MAY wish to re-check your 'facts' about that one. Baden-Powell was cleared and Acquited by Military Tribunal of the slaying of the Matabele Chief in fact. It was found that another British Officer actually committed the murder and he executed by Fring-squad for it. Adolph Hitler merely copied the Boy Scouts Movement and 'adapted' it to become the Hitler Youth Movement circa 1937-38 which he used to train young boys to become 'Warriors of the Third Reich' and even to rise to join the ranks of the S.S., the S.A. as well as the Gestapo. My Father was a avid detester of warfare, racial hatred, militarism, etc, etc, he researched everything possible and available regarding the Boy bScouts, Baden-Powell, et al BEFORE he even cast a thought about my wanting to join them. He finally gave his okay and permission and I eventually rose to become a Scout Leader with well over 250 Merit Badges to my name.

At best, you have an uphill battle. https://age-of-the-sage.org/mysticism/world_religions_populations.html
Triphid replies on Jun 18, 2020:
Ah but it IS a battle well worth the fighting is it not. After all, imho, Religions belong in places of worship and home that embrace religions, NOT in workplaces, hospitals, etc, etc, and DEFINITELY not in the private love- lives of anyone at all.
