Tommy James & The Shondells - Draggin' The Line [youtube.com]

Love it!
Triphid replies on Jun 18, 2020:
Yep, a great song, enjoy it when the bloke who has the deepish responds to 'Draggin' the Line.' I know it might sound weird to some but during my times as a Train Examiner and having to walk kilometre after kilometre up and down the Shunting Yards, etc, I always carried a Walkman with me and that song would be on it at least a dozen or more times on each tape. I used to sing it quietly to myself but I changed a few words to "Walking the Lines" though. Kilometre after kilometre of rough, hard, large pieces of stone gravel called 'railway ballast' sure makes for sore feet after every 8 hour shift.

Then, if that be so, those 'pork chops' should be immediately suspended, with out pay, for disobeying a DIRECT order/Command and breaching their OATH of " To Serve and Protect." I.e. They took on the job knowing full well what it entailed and that they CANNOT be selective, etc, ergo, they MUST by the Rules, etc, governing their Employment respond otherwise they ARE being Negligent in their Duties. Can a Firefighter simply pick and choose what fires he/she will attend? Can an Ambo/Paramedic simply pick and choose what patient, M.V.A., serious Assault, etc, etc, he/she will or will not attend to and render assistance? Firefighters, Ambos, Paramedics, etc, etc, place their lives and safety on the line almost every time they attend to a call-out, so WHY do Cops think themselves to be so 'special?'

Triphid replies on Jun 17, 2020:
@CarolinaGirl60 That's funny, I too had a dog when I was a teenager whom we called Matilda only because she was found wandering on the side of the highway and adopted into the family. At first we called her 'Shiralee' ( another name for a Swagie/Swagman) but we changed it to 'Matilda' because every morning she'd go 'Waltzing Matilda' around the neighbourhood and collect the morning newspapers from every house and bring them home. Matilda lived a good life until she about 14 years old ( our estimate of her age) when she was bitten by a brown snake that had found its way into our yard.

As an adjunct and an after-thought I'll mention a 'little prank' I pulled on a couple of those annoying Mormon ( Moron) Missionaries about 12 years ago now. I knew full well that Morons are NOT permitted to drink ANYTHING containing either Alcohol or Caffiene. So, one fine and very hot summers day, I had just finished making my 'special' Iced Coffee and Chocolate Thickshake when 2 of the arrived at my front door looking very worse for wear from the 42 degree heat. They saw my icy cold Thickshake and I still think to this day that their mouths began to actually water, so I told them that they could enter my home, sit in the cool from my Evaporative Air Cooler and I'd give them a drink to ease their thirst, as an decent person would/should. They immediately asked if I had any of my Thickshake to spare as it " Looked so invitingly cold and refreshing." So, I served them each a very cold glass, I keep them in the Freezer compartment of the fridge in Summer btw, of Thickshake which they gulped down in almost a flash before my eyes. They then rested up a while, we chatted about things not of a religious nature then then they left thanking me for my kindness. I disn't have the heart to tell them that they had just drunk a glass of Thickshake that tasted of chocolate but was laced with Iced Coffee Essence.

Why the 'sad face' icon FrayedBear? Histamine blockers are used to block/retard/alleviate the actions and symptoms associated with Allergic Reactions, over production of Histamines, etc, etc. S.O.P. in medicine is usually, A) Find the cause of the problem then start treating the cause, B) Alleviate the symptoms whilst treating the problem AND the cause at the same time. Like most viral infections, i.e. Influenza, Common Cold, SARS, Covid, etc, etc, and the like, the symptoms MAY seem the same to the Layman but in relatility they are not. And until Scientists/Researchers find the actual nucleitides that allow these virus to do what they then we are merely treating the symptoms only.
Some of you are science savvy.

The roof beam should be either steel, a H beam pattern of about 3" width by 4" height, timber of the same dimensions and needs to installed with the widest side on the perpendicular to give it more strength. There are houses around here that people have built the roof rafters, etc, into by putting the widest side of the rafter on the horizontal only to find in later years that those beams begin to sag very badly because the grain in the timber is running incorrectly and cannot support itself any longer. Many say that they did that so they'd have a wider area to nail the roofing materials to and less chances of missing the timber as well, BAD and costly mistake years later.

How many 'looted treasures, etc, from the Nazis' were 'reacquired' by American G.I's in the final stages of WWII brought to America and still remain locked away in private homes or othe Museums? The Elgin Marbles BELONG to the Greek Peoples BUT they are still in the British Museums are they not, looted from the Acropolis, cut into shipable sizes, packaged up and shipped off to England.

@FrayedBear Yes, and we SHOULD start immediately producing everything possible that WE in Australia need IN Australia and reduce, drastically, our imports fromother countries, China, in particular imho. Have a policy of Grow it here, Mine it here, Make it here, sell it here, export ONLY the Surplus and Stand as a Nation, United and on OUR own 2 feet as ONE peoples. We pay outlandish prices for the meats we produce in our country simply because the very best is EXPECTED to be exported to other countries and we get the seconds only. We can and DO grow some of the best fruits, vegetables, etc, in the world BUT they too get exported and we have to IMPORT vegetables, fruits, etc, INSTEAD of using our own. Minerals like Iron-ore are mined here, processed here and then shipped to China, for example, turned into steel there and then sold back to us. Where once, the 'Big' Australian, mined, processed and made steel in Australia it now sells the ore to overseas concerns and then buys it back again, the Silver, Lead and Zinc Mines here Broken Hill once sent their ore to Port Pirie to be smelted and at least 70-80% was sold and used here in Australia, now it is shipped in bulk as unrefined ore to China etc, by sea for smelting, etc, BEFORE WE buy it back again at THEIR Prices NOT ours. Have you ever wondered WHY this has happened? It happened because successive Governments smelled Overseas money, saw the opportunities to grab it, short term as it is in reality, let overseas investments, etc, get control of our Companies, brought in those 457 Visas, dumbed down the generations until we arrived with a Generation that simply say, " Why should I work when there are others from other countries that there are more people will work much cheaper and for longer hours and I can get the Dole and get away with 'pretending' to look for a job."

Not only did we enforce the Social-Distancing Rules quickly but we also set up our own version of 'Lock-down' regional Borders system thus limiting trans-regional travel to Essential Transports only, i.e. Foods, Medicines, Patient Transfers, Fuels and the like. 2 confirmed cases of C-19, but deemed to minor cases, both 'imported' from elsewhere and both post-March and absolutely ZERO since then.

The U.S. importation of African Slaves wound down once Southern States Plantation Owners saw that breeding and selling slaves was far more lucrative in the long run than importing them. And lets not forget that Australia had its own little 'Black-birders' trade going as well. Hundreds were enslaved and brought in to work the Cane fields of Queensland, they were known as Kanaks and brought in from the Melanesian/Polynesian Islands. But hey, P.M. ScumMo stated PUBLICLY that there was NEVER any Slavery in Australian History didn't he, that was until, a couple of days later he did an encore of his and the LNP's Olympic Medal Grade Gymastics 'Back-flip' routines and apologised and withdrew his very erroneous previous comment.

But how about we all vote for ScumMo's new Theme song to be " Going to Hawaii" in honour of his chicken-shit running away for a 'holiday' when the country was in flames last Summer? Oh, but I forgot, he DID offer up a perfect (????) Excuse/reason/alibi for that didn't he? After all, he HAD promised the family to take them on holidays to Hawaii AND he needed a Well Earned and Well Deserved Break as well, the poor dear Fellow. So, while he was living it up in Hawaii hundreds of Volunteers were working the arses off 24/7 fighting raging Bushfires, saving people and their homes, animals, etc, etc, and when returns, finally, he quibbles and dithers over compensating these Volunteers and the families for lost incomes. Then, finally and to my mind quite begrudingly, offers them a WHOLE $30 per day for ONLY 60 days btw, when they've been fighting fires for at least 2 months solid already, most have NOT seen their families in all that time, NONE had any hope of being home for Xmas or New Year celebrations and 1 example I personally know of is my cousin Max, who dropped everything and headed off to the fight when the very first fire broke out, and now he has months of recovery to go through because he has 1st. and 2nd. degree burns from his right shoulder to his right foot caused by a burning tree collapsing on him and fellow fire'fighter, his fellow fire-fighter btw, is still alive BUT has 2nd. degree burns to about 45% of his body and can never hope to work again. The ONLY compensation they can both hope to get is from the R.F.S. Volunteer Insurance Scheme BUT nothing from the Governments.

@BirdMan1 There was actually 1 time when I was ever as drunk/drunker than a Lord ( as the saying goes) and that was at our Year Breakup Party. I walked home at around 2.30 in the morning, well tried to walk that is, with a bottle of Scotch under one arm, a bottle of Vodka in my pocket and drinking, trying to drink, a 26 fluid ounce bottle of Beer at the same time. I woke up in the morning to find myself sharing the kennel with the family dog who looked quite unimpressed btw, and to be told, harshly, that I had 'orally' re-painted my mother's favourite plants. But we had no female or male students with those names at the party though, I do remember, though, having to scrub very hard to remove a band of very bright pink lipstick, the fave colour of my then girlfriend, Sandra, from a certain part of male genitalia but can't remember how it got there though.

Little Miss Spiky a little bit on the shy side still though, but she never refuses a quick snack of meal-worms ( not the usual diet of Echidnas btw) when they're on offer, Groucho, on the other hand, has learned that by pecking loudly on my bedroom window he can be certain of getting his favourite snack, sausages warmed up in the microwave, cut into bird sized bite pieces and hand fed to him. I used to be almost overrun with very big, nasty black ants around my yard until Miss Spiky arrived on the scene, I was also forever battling snails in my gardens until Joanna moved in now every house within the immediate neighbourhood is ant and snail free.

Triphid replies on Jun 10, 2020:
@Gwendolyn2018 Hey, don't go getting your knickers in twist here, no-one is actually putting down women as far as I can see. But, physiologically speaking, there ARE things women can do that men can't and vice versa as well. Though it may interest you know that men who work as Nurses (.i.e classed as Male Nurses as I was for years) are most often cited by female patients as being far more empathetic, sympathetic, gentle, caring and over-all more understanding towards their patients. That citation is especially prevalent in the fields of Mid-wifery, Paediatrics and Female Medical and Surgical Wards simply because Male Nurses have a somewhat deeper respect and understanding of the 'embarrassments' that women patients experience, particularly when it comes to shaving the female genitalia area. When it comes to child patients as well, the Male Nurse is usually more gentle and caring, etc, towards the child mostly due to them having that often inherent 'fatherly instinct.' Until Florence Nightingale came along during the Crimean War ALL nurses were of the Male Gender FYI. And it has only been in the few decades or so that the stigma attached to Male Nurses of them ALL having to considered as being Gay/Bisexual has eased off somewhat, these days you will find that approx. less than 1% of all Male Nurses are Gay/Bisexual and, like myself, are as straight as arrows with their sexual preferences. So, both women and men do have places and productive uses in society as a whole and thee is no real need to be discriminatory towards either gender.

Well this was entertaining. I wonder which has more variability of expression: the human ear or the human vagina? Looks like the only constant is variability. I think these panels are artistically pretty interesting over and above the novelty of the idea. https://youtu.be/gY1iUfllRos

@MarkWD It depends upon which parts of the human auditory canals you are referring to? There are actully 2 main parts to the human Auditory canals, the Outer, from the actual ear itself to the timpanic membrane ( ear drum) and the Inner canal which houses the Choclea, the hammer, the anvil and the stapes, etc, plus the contact points for the Auditory nerves. Plus, and I'd guess most people are unaware of this Medical Fact, ALL foetuses are genderless until the gender determining hormones are released around the end of the 1st. Trimester or early into the 2nd. Trimester. If testosterone is the predominantly the released hormone, then the folds that would have become the female vulva then re-shape to create the scrotum, the Urethral opening and the Clitoris move together and join with the upper labial folds creating the penis, the testies are still held within the lower abdominal cavity, roughly close to where the female ovaries would be in a female foetus and only descend slowly either in the last weeks of Gestation or early during infanthood. Hence men are often prone to suffering from Inguinal Hernias where the Inguinal canal, through which the testies descend either do not close over or are torn open and a piece of the Intestinal tract can enter through into the Scrotum, quite painful, uncomfortable and often dangerous and debilitating as well. The Prostate Gland is present in both females and males but in females it is very small in comparison to the male Prostate Gland but with stimulation during sex or foreplay can actually cause a release of a type of Pre-seminal fluid to be 'squirted' from the female Urethra as it does from the male during orgasm.

WTF, that is disgusting imo, no person at 14 to 16 years of age is competent enough mentally to be considered as being adult enough to properly raise a child. I have counseled ever so many teens who have found themselves either pregnant or about to become fathers and the very second you mention ...

@LetzGetReal Yeah kind of, but it shows the mentallity of some of the Youth of today imho. I.e. Keep on pumping out babies to avoid getting a job and actually putting something back into society, pure selffishness imo.

The one journalist had on goggles, they aimed a head shot on purpose because they are targeting journalists, and it blew apart her eye through the goggles!!! She's permanently blind in that eye now. I can get a link if you'd like.
Triphid replies on Jun 9, 2020:
@OldMetalHead But she was NOT a 'Rioter' was she? She was a Journalist just doing her job. Even rioters are PEOPLE and people, imho, have a right to demonstrate their dislikes, etc, against Oppressive Behaviours, etc, of Governmemts, Police Services, etc, etc. FYI, a Rubber bullet is fired using either compressed air, HIGHLY compressed at great pressures, or a slightly lower charge of a gunpowder type of propellant, aiming one at any of the very vulnerable parts of the body can be very damaging or even FATAL just as can a 'blank round' fired from a gun as well.

Actually most vaginas are pretty much the same shape, etc, it IS the Vulvas (the outer parts btw) that vary in women.

Plaster casts of vaginas........not vaginas......they are labia minora and labia majora and clitoris casts. I wish people would learn womens' body parts. If these were casts of vaginas, they would be cylindrical or tube shaped. I have nothing against porn (except child porn). I've been in ...

@dermot235 Don't worry mate, my old school mate was, and still is, only 5' 2" in height but we all nicknamed him " Donk," "Firehose," and occassionaly, " Elephant Dick" because of his rather well developed 'middle leg.' Old Donk is now the father of 5 children, 3 boys and 2 girls, well they're grown up now, but accordig to his wife, the boys 'inheritted' their 'middle legs' from him. LOL, I often wonder what her 'reaction' was on their wedding night.

Nothing new here for me - but then, I've been educated well by my experiences .
Triphid replies on Jun 7, 2020:
Yep, me too, had my 'education' first when I was just 12 and half tears old with my best friend's 16 year old sister, then as a 19 year old and ONLY Male nurse stuck in the Hospital Nurse's Quarters while on the Theatre Roster for 3 long and very 'arduous' months. Oh how I wish for those days again.
If you ever wonder how new words come about I can for sure say kids can be inventive.
